Didn't iMeyer say you can do it without having to activate. Not trying to contradict you, just trying to get clarification because I'm doing the same. Logically, I would think there would be a pending activation on the line. Can you go through the Verizon website and activate that way or do you have to open the box to activate it.

Let me clean up what I said. If you are going to sell the phone sealed in the box, you absolutely have to have that line transferred to a different SIM before you sell. If you don't then that sealed SIM will be still be active on the account. The SIM is activated when you buy the phone whether you turn the phone on or not.

I keep getting this message: "An error has occurred. Please try again later." when clicking complete purchase I have a Nationwide Talk and Txt share plan, and it lets add a new line with UDP. Even does this at stores that have had phones in stock for days.

UPDATE: And I finally got a phone. I guess it was an OOS issue.

Can the new buyer just get their own sim and discard the SIM in the box? Since the SIM is linked to the line that is being AOL'ed, once the new person activates their line on the AOL, won't the SIM in the sealed box be useless since it is no longer linked to the AOL line or any line? Thanks for your help in explaining this

That is happening to me as well. Anyone have an idea if this is finally the end of the bug/loophole?

Yes, the new person can activate a new SIM on the AOL. They would have to if you're not giving the SIM that's linked to the line. Once the new SIM is activated the sealed SIM will be useless.

I want to move 2 lines to a sub-account... do I have to call Verizon to do this? Will it risk losing my new Apple UDP line? I've been trying to find a way to do this since Saturday.

So my new iPhone6+ with a new UDP line is due to arrive via ship to home on Thursday. Saaaweet!

Three Questions for the collective wisdom here:

1. Currently I have a 4S on my line that I am hoping to switch the device over to once I get it activated. Should I order a nano sim for my current line that I use the 4s on? Or once I get it activated would I be able to just call and ask them to swap devices on the lines?

2. If you were me would you chance it with the sim it comes with or would you get a 4G phone up and running on my current UDP line I'm using the 4S on now and then do the imeyers method instead?

3. I believe there is one recorded ship to home successful activation with the sim it comes with, but everyone else appears to have done the sim change via imeyers method. Is that correct or have more done it successfully without swapping?

Thanks for the help!

Any thoughts/suggestions here? Thanks!

Has anyone done this add a line and their billing cycle has since passed ??

Anyone??

Excellent thanks for the update maestro! So you just opened it up, turned it on, and it activated and showed UDP on your Verizon account?

Yes.... just a precaution, I didn't use my wifi. just use cellular service. I had to click retry one time due to server unavailable.

Thank you sir! :D

I added an Apple UDP line 2 days before the end of my billing cycle. I'll have had this new line for 2 weeks this coming Saturday, and it's all good still.

One more question about this sub account... will this renew the contract end date if I create one? I wanted to make room for 2 more Apple UDP lines, and either let the phones on the sub account drop off or ETF them.

The contract is not affected by creating a subaccount at all.

So, if the iPhone box is scanned by the Apple employee in the store, nothing special happens when you turn the phone on for the first time?

I thought there was a difference between the scan activation and whatever happens with the SIM card when you first turn on the phone (hence some people swapping SIMs before turning on, etc.)

Also, what if you AOL a line to someone, but they don't activate a new device on it (ie. the line is sitting in their account with no phone attached) – what happens to the original iPhone 6 SIM? I'm guessing that it's still active, and if you turned that phone on, it would work, but whoever received the new line, would be paying for the phone.

FOOOOOOOOOOCK YEAHHHGHHHH BABYYYYYYY I GOT MY SPACE GRAY 128gb PLUSSSSSSSSS. GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNN BABBBBBBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY WITH UDP!!!!!!! B

Also, I spoke with someone at Verizon who said that you couldn't AOL a line that had a "pending activation" on it, leading me to think that I had to activate the phone by either turning it on, or reading the serial numbers off the box. (which relates to my last question, what is the difference between the in-store scan, and turning the phone on for the first time)?
