If you need a SIM card, can they send you one?
yes and you can pick them up in-store if you have a device with you ready to activate on a line. You also can buy SIM cards from verizon authorized retailers for about $10 but one guy they charged him $35!!!!

Lol... My bag of SIM cards! I never have to worry about getting new ones.

There has also been misinformation passed around about reusing a SIM card-- it works fine!! As long as there is a new SIM card on the line that the old SIM card came with. Also obviously if doing the best buy trick then all those SIM cards need to be discarded!!!

Do you just pick up the sim in store and activate yourself or do they have to activate it?

That's incredible how authorized dealers take advantage of even the smallest things. AT&T corporate stores would do this too and the price would be different per store and how many you got!

The problem is with The carriers changing pay scales, it is actually becoming increasingly harder for the franchise stores to make money. This causes them to nickel and dime their customers :(

So when I go to p/u my phone and come home, I wonder if I could activate a Moto X using an old SIM card on the new UDP line and not activate the iP6 on the new UDP line at all - just leave it sealed? That would put an old SIM card on the line so the SIM inside the iP6 should be bumped off of my line.

And since I am doing p/u in-store, the iP6 won't need my SSN and billing zip code to activate, correct?

yeah, I cut mine up with scissors before I even activate the new phone.

I bet those jpg's on your desktop are screenshots of "unlimited data plans" :D

You can do this, but it will leave a pending activation on the line. You can get this cancelled if you can get to tier 2 tech support. It won't bump off the iPhone 6 sim, as it's a pending activation. And it may not even let you change the phone while that line has a pending activation... I'm not sure on that

Right the phone won't need social or billing zip code

Haha one is my drivers license that Verizon requested to be emailed... And the other is a picture of an iPhone 6 for ebay... But the funny part is I have 3 screen shots of unlimited data plans elsewhere on my desktop!

Do you just pick up the sim in store
At corporate stores, they won't give you a SIM card unless you have a phone for them to activate it in. At a VAR, they will let you take a SIM card home unactivated but it is much easier to have them do it for you. The VARs aren't interested in kicking you off of UDP as they don't get anything for it and it makes you mad and you won't patronize their business. So it is worth the $10 to go to a VAR IMO, but not worth $35!!

Also, some older androids can't use the SE NFC SIM cards and you will get an incompatible SIM card error if you try to use them.

Ahhh, the old nasty pending activation on the line. I hate those!!!!

Thank you sir!!!

Any advice to get an iPhone activated that was shipped to home early? Should I go to the store and ask them to activate it? If anyone has done this, can you tell me what lingo to use so I can explain it to the store employee....thanks for the help
Another poster on slick deals just reported that you need to get an apple engineer involved through apple tech support. Takes a few days but it fixed the problem.

Got the p/u notice for my new iP6 but I need to get my taxes filed and am waiting on my accountant to send me the final form so I can't go pick the iPhone up until he does!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

Can anyone help me. I have 2 lines with unlimited data. Yesterday I added a line and went to the apple store to pick up but there servers were having problems so the order was canceled. Now today I try and add a line at the eligibility step it gives me error saying cannot complete please try later. I can however upgrade a line just not add a line. Any Help? Called apple and verizon both could not help. Adding a line on verizon works fine. Is there any other way to add a line with unlimited data?

It's silver which was my last choice but idc, I got one!!!!!!!!

I see 16GB iP6 all over NJ, wake up and get you one!!!!

there's option for ip6+ as well! Seeing the ip6 last sold price dipping below 700 I think it would be safer to buy ip6+ to break even don't you think? I'm about to pull the trigger and would appreciate your opinion

I'm in the Apple Store now and will see what happens. Based on my findings so far I think I'm going to end up waiting until the original ship date to activate the phone.
