So we're 2 hours and 27 minutes past the pre order opening. I just went on my ATT account and signed up for a new ATT next account. Was able to get a silver 256 GB with November 3rd delivery. However I ordered through IUP on the Apple Store App at 3:10 AM EST the same phone and got delivery for Nov 17-24. Wtf?
[doublepost=1509096774][/doublepost]Here's my proof incase anyone wants to see it. Order placed almost 2.5 hours after launch in EST. I have a feeling Apple will ship their orders out earlier than advertised. I'm calling them tomorrow to see which order to keep LOL.
Like I said....the carriers seem to have a pre-allocation (as does Best Buy).

Apple's changed things for this launch to generate more buzz.

Damn good thing I stayed up there was a problem with my card wouldn’t go through and they just now sent me an email to update payment, looks all good now new cc is charged finally, hope I’m good the rest of the way

At&T site has an asterisk that said date subject to change.
I'm guessing ur gonna get an updated email from At&T with a later ship date.

Hmm. I may need to cancel my IUP program then if they aren't able to get me the device by Nov. 3rd lol.
Well, you may want to wait. You can still cancel or return. I'm wondering if we won't see some more dates get adjusted in the next few days as Apple juggles stock around. (I'm hoping at least that Apple will claw back stock from carriers that didn't sell out yet).

I believe the carriers and Best Buy always have a pre-allocated number of units.. its just that they are often not as organised in managing preorders. I remember a few years ago I preordered at Best Buy, showed up and they only received like 3 phones for the hundred preorders taken. They ended up giving out gift cards because of their mess up. Hopefully better this year tho.

Yeah, I'd like to see what the back-end logistics are that they have in place....heh....but I'm guessing Apple wouldn't want us to know. :)

This happened to me last year with ATT next. I ordered a Jet Black 7plus 256 GB and was promised like a week after launch date and then it got pushed to like a month after that. I was so mad, I cancelled my order with att and LUCKILY the Apple Store by my house had one in stock so I signed up for the IUP program. I'm hoping this is the case where Apple just over estimated their dates to be better organized. I have a friend that works for Apple and she said they like to overestimate just incase.

So a lot has been talked about the production of iPhone X. So many rumours and articles around. What do you guys think about the production of iPhone X after today's pre-order?

I feel Apple did meet a healthy number of customers for launch date & few weeks of waiting for deliveries. It wasn't like some articles expected to get iPhone X in January or Feb.

But there's still a lot to learn on November 3 when it goes on sale in stores.

Most people aren't awake in North America yet...so a LOT more stock will be gone in the next several hours (so, yes, I think all of 2017's production stock is going to be gone before the morning is out). The people up ordering in the wee hours are just those that are a little phone nuts. :)

I agree, this doesn't seem any more backed up than the iPhone 6 or the Jet Black iPhone 7. I was able to get an iPhone X Silver 256 at 3:03 AM, for delivery on November 3rd. I also got an iPhone X Space Grey 256, for in store pick up at 3:05 AM, with a pick up date of November 3rd at 9:00 AM.

I would say it seems like a healthy supply. Of course Apple would have wanted to ship more phones. I think there will quite a few orders shipping out earlier than now indicated (as always) and that the delivey dates will improve once we get closer to Christmas. Apple is always very pessimistic when it comes to delivery dates (which I think is a good thing).

After receiving lots of error messages on the Apple store app first thing this morning we got that message that said a phone was reserved and we would receive an email. Still hadn't received the email a little while ago, so I ordered through att. Huz didn't mind getting the 64 instead of the 256 (he never uses more than 30gb), so the ship date was still decent. (Nov. 3-10)

I also had a problem with Apple Pay. With Apple Store app. When I went to checkout. It just froze. I tried a few times and had to pay by my Amex for fees. The second iPhone X kept giving me a error when I tried to put in the phone number. So I ordered my wife phone from AT&T. Got November 3 for both.

Shipping times are 5-6 weeks now.

BestBuy seems to ship faster than Apple currently. Apple has now waiting of 5-6 weeks!

Stocks are still moving, a notable refill just happened for pickup, mostly ATT but other carriers too.

Now or later, pickup will probably enable you to touchdown before the expected delivery.

what a fiasco...here's the play by play...

1. IPhone app didn't come online for me until 3:09. ATT site has me in 20 minute queue via Safari on MB
2. iPhone Xs in favorites are deleted
3. tap through the process multiple times. Finally reach carrier verification, and after multiple taps, I get the reservation splash screen @3:22 for a black 256.
4. Run back through to upgrade secondary line, more repeated tapping, and order finally goes through for a 64Gb silver eta dec.11. Ok.....
5. Check ATT site 3 HOURS LATER @6:03, both lines still showing as available for upgrade. Run through upgrade for secondary as a test, and see 64GB silver available at launch...hmm. Check 256 and it's available 3-10 Nov. Well ok..proceeded with order and upgraded secondary to 256Gb silver instead.
6. 6:15, log into apple store on Mac and original 64GB silver order is pending, cant be cancelled as of yet....
7. Still awaiting email for 256 black from apple because ATT already has them back ordered till December. Now looking around the forum, I should have waited out ATT in the first place...

Hope apple reservation for 256Gb black has a reasonable date or I'm stuck....

*edit*side benefit of ordering through ATT is that the upfront taxes will be added to next bill...will have to wait for refund via Apple for the original 64GB silver...

256gb silver, att
got in sometime around 12:03, but didnt get my email confirmation until 12:27.

November 3rd delivery!!!!! so much better than last year

Good morning fellas, managed to get about 3 and a half hours of sleep. I was able to order a 256gb space gray last night paid in full, a bit disappointed because i was refreshing like crazy since 2:59AM and the store only finally came up at 3:03AM here in new york and it gave me a "delivers Nov 10-17" Date frame which is fine i guess even though i would have liked to get release day delivery but oh well, it seems like the site came up for people at different times as others clearly ordered before the website even came on for me in new york.

Checkout with Apple Pay was extremely quick took about 25 seconds from selecting my favorite to finish.

I also ordered a black apple leather case for the X which is now preparing for shipment so ill have that before the phone.

What would you do? I ordered through apple with a shipping date between Dec 11-18. Got the email saying phone has been reserved, but still need to verify through carrier. AT&T website says shipping date between Nov 3-10. I’ve always ordered directly through apple, so I have no idea whether the dates on ATT are legit. I just don’t want to slip later than the dates I already have.

Same for me in Florida. I got through on iPhone app at about 3:04 AM and the delivery time for mine was Nov 10-17 th as well for silver 256 GB GSM version. Thankfully my local Apple store had in-store pick up available though for Nov 3 at 8 AM so I snagged that rather than shipping to me. Store is only 10 minutes from me.

you have another line on your account that can be upgraded, order through that one and keep the Apple.com order as well. Then see how it shakes out over the next day or two. Cancel one once delivery dates are more solidified.
