Indeed, but at this point I think they didn't take any money yet. Probably just asked for authorization on your card.

So a little bit of the news with my order last night When I was making my order I got a error that they couldn’t reach my carrier but in a few hours they would email me so I wouldn’t lose my place in line, but I didn’t want to wait for that so I just placed an order with an in-store pick up of November 3.

But I just got an email from Apple they allowed me to update that with the delivery of November 3 without having me the Cancel a second order it just all did in the background but it swapped from in-store pick up November 3 to delivery November 3! I love you Apple

What would you do? I ordered through apple with a shipping date between Dec 11-18. Got the email saying phone has been reserved, but still need to verify through carrier. AT&T website says shipping date between Nov 3-10. I’ve always ordered directly through apple, so I have no idea whether the dates on ATT are legit. I just don’t want to slip later than the dates I already have.

Same here. I can't cancel because the reservation/order doesn't show up anywhere but also won't let me upgrade via Next so I guess it still is pending. I ordered around 12:12am since the app was a dud and initially saw a 2-3 week delivery date. I hope that holds true.

I wonder if Apple had a limited amount of phones that would be delivered to IUP customers on November 3rd. I had already checked out by 3:03 AM. And got a November 10-17 shipping date.

This was a great pre-order! Apple App Store didn't come online for me until about 3:03AM, when it did, I ordered my iPhone X SG 256GB with ATT SIM. (Had already saved as a fav, preloaded my card info and ATT account info earlier in the day) and paid in full! Completed by order by 3:05AM with a Delivery Date of Nov. 3rd

The Apple Store app went live for me soon after 2am CT. I ordered a Tmo Silver 256, had it in my fav, and went through the checkout process very quickly with Apple Pay. Originally it was for 11/3 delivery, but by the time I recieved my confirmation email at 2:02am, the delivery date already dropped to 11/10-11/17. I understand Tmo models will go quick, but damn! All Tmo Silver 256 were sold in a minute???

got the same shipping estimate here placed at 3:03 which was when the site went live for me, 256gb tmobile space gray, I checked out within 20 seconds from start to end and still didn’t get release date delivery due to the site coming up 3 minutes late for me here in New York but it’s all good I’m fine with that estimate

I read on Reddit that Apple provides conservative shipping estimates so if you got Nov 10-17 like me, there’s a chance we can get it earlier. T-Mobile stock seems to be Nov 10-17 at the earliest. I checked out by 3:04am ET

I agree, some cancelations and perhaps declined orders are bound to happen as well which will make it so that some people will get moved up the queue resulting in people getting their phones quicker than the estimate

What’s up with the charging bases?? Returnable individually?

Ended up ordering a silver 256gb around 3:10. November 17-24. Had some issues with the AT&T carrier portion and had to start over which led to me losing out on November 3 delivery. Around 5:50am I got a reservation email and ended up getting the same phone with the other number on my account for November 3 delivery...yay! Can I switch numbers when it comes?

November 3 iphone has black charger base and November 17 iphone has white charger base. Can I return the black by itself and keep the white?? Also how did those end up in my cart?? lol

As soon as I put my TMo SG 256 in my cart it was 10-17 delivery, never slipped during checkout (gift cards and a tel ph # error). Local pick up wasn’t an option. Happy with the outcome, just hoping since you can still get early shipments from Tmo direct, will get some cancellations. I leave for a quick trip on 11/10 and also, isn’t that a holiday here in the US??

Here's my impression from ordering from Dotcom and app.
  1. Pre-orders didn't go live as stated. Neither Dotcom nor the app were ready at 3:01ET/12:01PT as stated which I guess isn't a huge deal. Finally came up around 3:07ET.
  2. Whether it's Apple or the US carriers (I'm talking about A&T, Sprint, and VZW), you have to validate using your account info. TMo doesn't require it. I don't see the big deal. Apple should just get away from this and just sell unlocked devices that work on all carriers. If the carrier wants to sell them from their individual sites and offer specials until the phone is paid off, that should be up to them.
  3. Using the app, regardless from which carrier you want, you should be able to order a VZW phone from an app using a TMo sim. It errors out because because it must do a sim/number check.
  4. Ordering TMo from the Apple app caused it to hiccup several times, and now I have two Space Gray 256 GB on order being delivered Nov 17-24. I had to use a spare VZW phone to order the VZW X which is HFPU on Nov 3 at 9:30am.
  5. You can go to Dotcom to cancel an individual item, it's all or nothing. That needs to be fixed.
I guess all in all in, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. At least I don't have to wait in line all night and be a walk-in and still get the phone on Nov 3.

If my Jet Black experience was an indication, T-Mobile allocation of iPhone models is significantly lower than ATT/Verizon allocations. Makes sense since the subscriber base for those networks are probably larger.

Even reading forums from several sites, including MacRumors, my friend and I were noticing folks ordering after us (2:06 CST) getting Nov. 3 dates. Same deal happened with Jet Black where folks ordering way after others were receiving their phones earlier.

IMO, I also believe Apple puts those who are under the IUP with priority. Noticed the trend after each iPhone launch. I don’t like it at all but hey, nothing we can do now.

The guy that had an 11/10 date and then cancelled and got 5-6 weeks and ended up all "wtf" has me laughing. What in the world were you thinking?

The app went live for me at 3:03. Continued my IUP and was all done within that same minute. Got my order confirmation email within 5 minutes after that. All in all, went very smooth. However, I was talking to a friend while we were both waiting for the app to go live and hers didn't go live until she logged on to her computer on Apple.com and then finished her IUP that way - coincidentally as soon as she went on .com the app woke up. She ended up with an 11/10-11/17 date which isn't horrible but she should have been able to get 11/3 just like me. I think she missed something when doing the pre-qualification though, because she had to do it again from .com and maybe that's why.

I'm happy though, went pretty smooth. Now to find a case!

EDIT: 256GB Space Grey Verizon was my choice.
