I asked because as I said, someone a few posts above mine said they chose the cc and it pushed their delivery date back.
Anyways. Thanks for all the info! So if I do choose CC, and the one near me opens at 8an, I should be able to go there at 8am and get it then, based on what you are saying?

Yup that’s what I do. Mine open at 8am and I’m still on maternity leave until 11/6, so I can play with mine over the weekend.
Yes exactly. You'll see the tracking show it at the center. You may or may not get a "ready for pickup" status before they open the center but it will generally be there and ready for pickup regardless (at least it is at the DC by me). I would expect that if you get there a little before opening time there may even be a line of people waiting to pick up. You can have your own mini Apple store line experience and share war stories.I can follow directions

It’s funny I did this and it shows as being delivered 9/25/17. It was my Apple Watch Series 3. Haha. No tracking yet in UPS My Choice. Which I’m kind of bummed about. Fingers crossed it will show up today. I want to join in the fun of tracking my phone from China. Not worried though I know it will be here. I do have a question about holding it at UPS CC. I’m seriously considering this as I don’t get deliveries until late afternoon/ evening and I hate the idea of waiting all day. My UPS CC center opens at 10am which is a lot better than 6pm delivery. But I was just wondering if anyone in the past has had an issue with this. I guess I’m just not sure if I should trust my local UPS CC to hold it or just wait for the truck to deliver.

I always have mine held at the UPS CC because in my neighborhood UPS don’t deliver until 6pm-8pm. I always got a notification for pickup after they opened at 8am, but I’m usually parked outside and waiting for them to open the doors.
Did you do it already via the app and is it showing the same date. Didn’t push it back?

Before I got my UPS MyChoice notification I got one for my wireless charging pad saying Tuesday. Thought it was the new iPhone X. Then I noticed it was Amazon and not Foxconn. Got my UPS update a few minutes later for the phone coming on Friday.
Crap. It had said 11/3. I just checked again before I replied to this post, and now it shows “Date tentative”
Scared...I did choose the CC, I screenshot it to make sure when I made the change. Ugh

Im Also from puerto rico i cant find the reference option on the ups website, but order is still being processed with a 11/3 delivery
Guys, just relax with the tracking if you don’t see any update for the next few days. I’ve seen phones move from China to the local sort facility in less than 24 hours. UPS is pretty damn good doing what they do, and they give even more priority to Apple shipments during a launch.

How long does it take to get your phone once there? Is it just a thing where you show your ID and they say here. And then you leave? Or is there a process? Cause my CC opens up at 8:00AM, but it takes a while to get to my office from where it is located. So if there is a line there, and it takes too long to process and give each person their phone. That would rule that option out for me.

I just show them my ID and my tracking info in the UPS app since my DL have a different address where it’s going to be delivered.
The pickup itself is usually pretty quick. Show your ID and sign their pad for picking it up. All will depend on how many people are in line.
edit: one other wrinkle. At my DC there is a big, major distribution in the back and a smaller building by the road for retail use. The packages have to get transferred from the "back" to the "front." Typically they shuttle them up in advance but I've had cases (not specifically with an apple product) where they've had to call the back to get them. They literally load it onto a UPS truck and deliver it to the retail building. Usually takes ~10 minutes.
I have never done that before. So I am a little paranoid. It takes me at least 30 mins to get to work from the CC. So if there is a huge line, and each person is taking forever to get their phone. I may end up having to leave without the phone.
