I’m a my choice member and I’ve had two iPhones held at UPS CC in the past. The UPS CC was one of the available locations listed as options on the app itself (allow it to use your location). In both cases I requested the change thru the UPS app on my phone and was able to pick up at opening time on launch day.
If you have it held at the actual distribution center like you're supposed to it will be ready to pick up first thing in the morning. If you can't follow directions and have it sent to a UPS Store somewhere in your town it may end up taking extra days or at the least not be available until later in the day.
Here's the breakdown:
DC pickup: Factory >> UPS hops >> local distribution center >> [[YOU GO HERE AND PICK UP PHONE]]
UPS Store: Factory >> UPS hops >> local distribution center >> loaded on delivery truck >> delivered to UPS Store >> [[YOU GO HERE AND PICK UP PHONE]]
Just checked again and it's there now. Didn't show up in myups tracking yet though. I had to search with my phone number and zip and it popped up.
There was ~ 2 hour delay between the origin time scan to showing up in UPS My Choice for me.

For those of us who have been in ZhengZhou, China since yesterday, do you think we will see a departure scan in the next few hours? It is abut 8:20 PM on Sunday there.
Did you try tracking by Reference using your phone number from the order or the order number minus the last 2 digits?
It can be phone number for your new iPhone or it might be your home phone number. Check your Order to see what phone number are listed. Still lots of time to ship from China, for many of us it is already on its way to tomorrow (Monday).

That looks like everyone else’s on here... not weird at all.
I ordered 256GB Silver T-Mobile. My tracking number with delivery for 11/3 just showed up in UPS MY Choice this morning.

Not weird...mine did the same thing. In years past the phones/scans have taken a weird route. Sometime the UPS system cannot keep up with how fast they are moving through the system. Plus these phones have to go through Customs before they leave and once they arrive in the US. Don’t worry we all will see movement soon and have our phones on launch day.

My 256gb silver iPhone X finally showed up on ups today and in my mychoice account!
Considering changing mine to my local CC to pick on on 11/3 since ups runs at my house late afternoon or evening. But I seen the hours posted for my CC and they are just as late says 4:00pm to 6:00pm is the operating hours. So this means if I changed it to pickup I can’t pick up til 4pm? Or do they all open at a certain time and this is hours for something else?

These threads go to hell as soon as people start with tracking info. I feel like that needs a separate thread so that everyone else can keep discussing progress, shipping improvements, etc.
My Apple order is still showing as Order In Progress. I submitted my order 6 minutes after my T-Mobile order because online and the app were not running for me. In the past I always got my Apple orders before T-Mobile so I assumed the same would be happening this year.
Ouch...yep, that's what it looks like. That's a pretty short window. Many have one in the morning and one in the afternoon for customers coming in. Not much you can do - may be better to just let it deliver to your home - may have it faster.
Do both orders have ship dates? I am always skeptical of carrier ship dates.Looks like I might be canceling my Apple order for T-Mobile 256GB SG. I just got charged!
Yeah I’ll probably just leave it alone and let them deliver it!
So, to clarify, you’ve changed yours already via the app successfully? Is your order like mine (showing up on the app but not officially shipped yet according to Apple?)
