This is how:

Once our orders move to processing and we should start seeing some movement to 'preparing for shipment' over the weekend since release date Sept 22th.

Once this happens we should be able to get details on your phone and let the tracking begin

Here are some notes to help track orders:

If your phone status has changed to "Shipped", you can view the invoice on the Apple site.
That invoice has the serial number on it.

Go to Apple.com, then pick the ORDERS page (the little "shopping bag" icon at the far right on the home page... go to your orders page). Now, log in, and find your iPhone order... and click on Print All Invoices.

Order number format: W followed by first 7 digits
Alternative order number format: W followed by all digits minus the last 2 digits

I haven't been able to go all the way back through this thread, but since people are already talking about tracking orders, I get the impression (maybe incorrectly?) that the status for most people is already on "Prepared for Shipment" or "Shipped". My order went through at 12:06, and my delivery date is listed as Nov 3, but my status is still "Order in Progress". When I called Apple, they said that it was still on track (credit card pre-authorization went through, no issues) but it hasn't shipped. Should I be worried or am I just being paranoid?

I have seen the same issue, with others who have waited until the last minute. I have done it multiple times as soon as I have a tracking number and I have never had an issue.

Is it OK that I requested the hold, even though I haven't gotten shipping confirmation from Apple yet? Have you done this before where you request the hold before Apple sends the shipping confirmation? Thanks.

Does tracking by reference return anything from UPS? My 11/3 delivery changed to prepared for shipment on 10/27 and showed up in UPS Friday/Saturday.

On the MyChoice page it shows EXCEPTION with a date unavailible, but the actual tracking number page says the phone will still be delivered Friday...is this just because UPS is yet to acknowledge the pickup request? That's my best guess. Hoping I'll still get it Friday!

Yup. It’s just saying you elected to pick up package

I wouldn't.

I've seen some orders just ship later (like on Tuesday or Wednesday) and still make it on-time for launch day.

When can you start tracking on FlightAware?

Our phones will likely leave Zenghzhou (CGO/ZHCC) on either a smaller freighter (73F) to Shenzhen (SZX/ZGSZ) or perhaps Guangzhou, then probably on a UPS flight to Incheon (ICN/RKSI) then on to Anchorage (ANC/PANC) or maybe even a non UPS 747F flight I found going from CGO-ANC. Here are two possibilities so far: Match your departure scan to the time a flight leaves within reason and you’re tracking away!

I’m guessing based on the past, the 10/31 Flights are options
0310 flight ORN6912 to SZX/ZGSZ or even the
0620 to SZX those two may have some phones and if UPS needs the help the Yangtze River Express flight YZR7489 going from CGO-ANC which is already enroute and departed at 1040PM CST (China Standard I assume!)
There’s even a CLX flight going to Chicago but I doubt they’ll send them to Chicago.
Watch your departure scans and match the times up. Lots of possibilities!

Yeah, makes sense. One 'different' thing about my order is that I also ordered a lightning to 3.5mm adapter with the phone. The delivery date on that item is Nov 1 (day after tomorrow), but it's still "In Progress" as well even though it says 2 day shipping. The Apple guy who was helping me over the phone mentioned that everything looked good and I should get my items on the right days, but not sure if he was just saying that, lol. Guess I'll just have to sit tight!

Yes indeed-it’s now 1240am on 10/31 in Zengzhou! For instance, if anyone’s phone left on the CGO-ANC direct flight (non UPS) it left @1040pm (departure scan should be somewhere between 950p and 1040p) on 10/30 and will arrive at 212pm on 10/30 in ANC.

If you go to a UPS store it will delay you getting your phone by one day.

I know that - that's why I was asking this guy if that's what his brother did because he said it was delayed by a day

Apple chooses which carrier will deliver your shipment, and some of our shipments require a signature. Your Shipment Notification email will tell you whether a signature is required. The carrier may make subsequent delivery attempts before returning the shipment to Apple. Once your order has prepared for shipment or has shipped, we are unable to change the shipping address.

If you are unavailable to provide a signature, Apple offers three easy options for you to receive your package.

Option 1: Pre-sign with Apple once your order has shipped
There are two ways you can Pre-sign for your shipment:

Click the Pre-sign for this shipment link in your Shipment Notification email
Visit online Order Status and click the "Pre-sign for this shipment" link

I just placed all three of my iPhone X on hold for pick up at my local CC. I will be there right when they open at 8AM instead of waiting for delivery on the 3rd.
