Is there a way of seeing if you have a destination scan already? This is the order in question that still says “exception” but is showing as 3rd delivery..
[doublepost=1509369837][/doublepost]Damn me for not waiting. Then again, several pages back, somebody else was saying they always do it as early as possible and the recommendation is to change for CC ASAP. Argh. What to believe!
When it gets to your area, you should get a destination scan.

You would see this by looking at the tracking activity. Yours is the same as mine...shows an origin scan of where it's coming from, and transit between two locations in China, but no destination scan. It will show up as a separate line item in the tracking activity and say "Destination Scan" and a time. Usually it's when it makes it to the nearest major hub or your local customer center. See an example of another package I had delivered recently

Oh that’s great thanks! So it looks like doing it early is the best advice. Did she say your ‘exception’ would disappear? (Assume you have one too) Someone said here it’s down to customs

I didn't specifically ask since I was satisfied that the change would be processing soon and it would be ready for pick up earlier than the truck would make it to my home. I'd imagine once the Change Request processes, or once it clears customs, that will disappear.

I just found my tracking info with UPS. So for sure they won't deliver if no one is there to sign? I remember being able to leave a note for Fedex a few years ago.

Yeah same...my ATT order is preparing to ship while apple's is still showing the same dates. I FINALLY got a chat agent and they literally just gave me the same information that I could see myself on the website. Horrible. I gave them a piece of my mind, LOL. I made sure to tell the agent though it wasn't her fault or directed towards her but if she could pass along to the higher reps my experience that would be great. I'm keeping both orders and selling one to make a profit off it. At least for my inconvenience i'll make a pretty penny lol.

I’m thinking of doing the same thing too.

You have the option to pre-sign from your Apple's order, once your iPhone shows as shipped, but the UPS driver has the discretion whether to leave it or not. I would either have it held at a UPS CS or be home to sigh.

Ordered after 10-15 minutes - got 17-24 batch - Order in Progress - No cc charge yet
Same here. Would like us people to keep each other updated of any activity. I can’t believe carriers had earlier shipping dates than the company who sells the phones themselves!

Whether it is or isn't throttled is part of the litigation between these two. (I could certainly see Apple doing that).
Now, how much of that you see in real life, with how congested the carrier's base stations are??? :)

Blame Apple for giving the US carriers pre-allocation stock. Me, I'd love to see Apple just sell to everyone directly, so we all have an equal chance of getting a launch day device when pre-orders open.

The speed limiting by Apple is a fact, not part of litigation. The Intel modems are not capable of gigabit LTE speeds. The Qualcomm is capable but Apple limits the speed to what the Intel modems are capable of so users have same experience. They wouldn’t want people trying to buy only the Qualcomm version to get better LTE speeds.

I agree. My UPS driver wouldn’t even leave my Apple TV 4K without a signature even though I pre-signed. Up to their discretion and they don’t like to leave Apple products without signature. I wouldn’t expect anything to be waiting for you but a UPS exception notice. Pick it up or be home. Good luck.

I know this was addressed above but I am still confused, when is the best time to change the delivery address with UPS? I need to change the delivery address and am not sure when to do it in the shipping process.

Hey everyone -

Having never pre-ordered with store pickup before...am I sure it's going to be reserved and not given away to someone who came earlier? I have mine set up for a check-in between 9-9:30 am and the store opens at 8 am. I'm definitely going to be there right at 9 am, but is there a chance they give it away to someone who stood in line? Or are those time slots only for people who pre-ordered? I'm just nervous, lol. Thanks in advance!

lol they will NEVER give your pre-ordered iPhone to someone who stood in line. Those are two different 'stocks', otherwise pre-order is not pre-order but 'pre-order but you need to come early otherwise we give it away'

Not all the way sure but I’m positive you can not change the delivery address at this point for security reasons.

I'd have thought so - thanks lol. I've just always had mine delivered, but the billing address for my ATT account is my parents' house and I hate going over there and guessing when the UPS guy will be there since neither of them are home when UPS delivers usually in their neighborhood. When I saw store pickup, I was mad excited since I work about 2 minutes from the Mall of America Apple store.

Apple only sells 10% of iPhones sold, carriers sell the vast majority. They aren't going to cut out the carriers.

My order didn't ship yet, as I am in the 2-3 week crowd. I know ATT has a restriction that you can't change it from the person's name on the bill billing address, but for some reason I thought I could change the delivery address once the product has shipped. Thanks for the clarification.

Your phone from the pre-order has already been configured(at least the sim card) and they will not give it away if your not there.

If it hasn’t shipped I would definitely contact Apple ASAP and maybe they can change it before they create a label for it

I still cannot believe I ordered at 3:08am eastern and got 11/17-11/24 shipping window, when att still had launch day available at 6:30am!! Wtf, last year I ordered from att at 3:05 and couldn’t get launch day so went with Apple this year. Can’t win
Personally. Never liked the tracking an customer service from Verizon on pre-orders in the past. I also hated having my phones activated by having to call the carrier.

With phones delivered from Apple I could move them around my accounts anyway I pleased.
