Let me join the panicking folks: ahhhhhhhh, I reserved in-store pickup. Will they give my iPhone away if I don't get there right at the beginning of my check in window?! AhhHHHHHH!

(Even though the phone will have my SIM and will be locked to my account so no one else could unlock it after first boot and set it up.)

I really don't tinker with flight aware for this. I read on here to see who else seems to have my same set of departure and arrival times and then I use their info. I have flight aware, as an app, on my phone, but I know there's a big plane right now with my phone on it that came from China, fueled in Anchorage, and is headed for Louisville. That's all I know. It's always that way with every iPhone launch preorder trip via UPS.

How come when I try this it doesn't show up? Same if I do order number with last 2 digits backspaced. Order supposed to come in 11/3

And how come Apple.com just changed the status from Preparing to ship to order in progress?!?!?!

Hmm... sign up for UPS MyChoice. Then, you won't need those things (theoretically, anyway). UPS will be tracking anything that comes to your address. It's free. Might as well try it.

LISTEN! IF YOU have held for a request to hold your iPhone at your local UPS CC. It has to FIRST, be approved by the hub before its "approved" you may see tentative or w/e. So check back Thursday night or early Friday for an update!

I just requested to hold at the cc and said I have like 6days to pickup before it’s shipped back. No date change etc. though I don’t really see a confirmation on the location which I don’t like. Just says requested hold at local ups. Am wondering if it will say a confirmation

Not to scare you, but it's just parked. Not locked. A simple phone call before turning on the device changes the parked to sim to any number they wish, so it can technically be given away, quite easily. haha

Does it say "Preparing to Ship" on Apple's site? If so, it's fine. Don't worry over it.

Nope don't worry they won't give it to someone else they will hold it for you

My request to go to the UPS Store is no longer showing as an exception and it's now just showing November 3rd delivery to the UPS store.

The thing is that it takes up to 24 hours to clear the request. So, if your statement is correct and the hub receives iPhones Thursday night or Friday morning, there's no way it'll be available for pickup Friday. Again, that's if your statement is correct.
