Is using apple pay any quicker than having your credit/debit info already filled in? I wouldn't think so but I've never used apple pay in the apple store.

I have mine saved too but sometimes your 3 or 4 digit number on the back may be asked to be entered and with Apple Pay I just use my fingerprint. I use it all the time shopping.

Does anyone know if I open an account with Verizon now (with my existing device) to order Verizon version of the iPhone X on apple.com (pay in full), and cancel the account after I got the phone. Will I be able to get the activation fee ($30) and upgrade fee (another $30) back? Thanks.

I have been rehearsing the steps by using another an iPhone 8, and when I select Replace this phone (Verizon), and then once I select all the options I get to a screen where it looks like the app contacts Verizon to verify my phone. Once this is done after a few seconds waiting the phone goes into my bag, where it says

Verizon Contract Details
Contract: No Commitment
One-time updgrade fee: $30.00

Fees and rate plan charges will appear on your next Verizon bill.

Are the steps that I took accurate? Will I really have to pay an extra $30 to Verizon?

So I am looking to upgrade one of the lines on my account with ATT by doing a pre order on the Apple Store app. The issue is walking through the steps just now the line that will be upgraded is not the one that is eligible with no payment since it is the one I am on. So I am borrowing an upgrade from a line on the account.

Is there a way to change the phone number (line) to the one that is eligible with no payment from my current phone? Or do I have to use the actual phone that will be upgraded?

Do you control the account IE it’s in your name etc? I can’t speak to ATT however I had similar questions on Verizon and today I went to Verizon and Apple in NYC and confirmed I can preorder on my second family plan line that’s available to upgrade and to select “Buy new IPhone on existing account” and once activated it will tags to the avliable upgrade line. I’d call ATT to triple check. Happy Hunting!

Does anyone else feel like people are acting like they are going to stop making iPhone X's after launch. It not like if you don't get it on launch that the next shipment will be in 2018. They are continuing to make them and if demand is ripe, will put extra resources into making them. I would bet all ordering within the first hour will see delivery within the month at most. If you are waiting for a store to have stock or for a carrier, it may be a longer wait.

My worst pre-order delay was for the 6+ and that was a less than one week wait (i believe the original estimate was 2 weeks) and was a server crash issue. As grim as the reports are being, Apple wants to sell phones and given the lackluster reports of the 8+ launch - the only way to look good for this launch is to sell enough / fast enough to keep people interested and lines steady and strong.

I have a question - if I pre order on Friday as soon as it is available and click deliver to store - will this make my iPhone arrive later or would it be the same time as it would take to get to my house? And would clicking deliver to store possibly get my order pushed further down the queue due to many people ordering at the same time as me?

Doubt it. If you're using the Apple Store app, once you reach checkout you can easily select the In Store Pickup to view availability. I believe you'll also have to choose a time slot. If there's no time slots available, you can quickly press back and select shipping instead.

I want to thank everyone the past week for all the tips I found on here. Especially the Apple Upgrade program tips I passed those along to a few friends whom are in the program it helps allot! I also made sure to get the excited for the 64GB Silver X lol Every year you all have so much to share just letting you know it doesn’t go unnoticed :) Getty up Happy Hunting to all

PS I to was offered by Verizon they would place the order for me and call when done. I took a pass as I didn’t trust the situation let alone Verizon processing a huge hand written list of names. I also do my own wet work ;) those who mentioned earlier in these post they used that method if you get passed over or they order to late just remember you chart your own destiny in this world lol

I’m looking to pre-order with either my iPhone, iPad, or MacBook, but I’ve noticed something when I did a trial run ‘buying’ an iPhone 8. On my iPhone, when I get to the carrier section, the information is already put in and automatically processed. However, on my iPad and MacBook, I have to put in my phone number, zip code, and last 4 SSN. Is there anyway to bypass this on the iPad and MacBook like it is on the iPhone? It would save a ton of time.

this's what I hope for, so I can do pre order in Friday and select pick up in store selection, I'm so happy, thank you!

He told me as long as they have open time slots your good to go and you’ll have a separate line etc. However if no time slots available immediately hit back and choose shipping so you don’t miss out. Also sounds like SG 256GB will go fast so be ready for war :)

Comparing 6/6+ and X launch is not easy or fair. There was no iUP back then, for example. So less people getting their hands on the phone relatively speaking. Also the number of units available was a lot more than what’s predicted for X (2-3M). And finally, the jump from 7/8 to X is bigger than the jump from 5S to 6/6+.

Bottom line, supply is even tighter than what it was back in the 6/6+ preorder day and the number of people buying is a lot more than how many were there back in the 6/6+ preorder day.

I do hope Apple has 10-12M units ready for launch, instead of 2-3M we’ve heard from other analysts. In that case, it would be fair to compare it to 6/6+ pre order day in at least one way (same supply).

As long as they have a avliable reservation time your good to go! Also if said in store pickup reservation time is earlier then FedEx/UPS delivery in your area then yes in store pickup is faster :) I got my 8+ shipped to my house arrived around 2pm and for the X I’ll shoot for in store pickup as I’d like to people watch and take part in the Festivas only if I am able to preorder successfully for a 11/3 pickup

I have a question Im going to make an appointment to get my phone on the IPhone Upgrade Program with Tmobile for the first time and I was wondering if anyone what would happen if the store didn't have any iPhone X 256 phones in stock.

I believe if you succeeded in obtaining a 11/3 date and have a avliable time option on in store pickup you’d walk away victorious unless an act of god happens that’s out of your control. I’ve never seen it happen minus a few guys we’re late by 10 or so minutes to thier in store pickup window and that shanked those few people! Go early check in anddint mess around :) Make sure your payment form is optimized ahead of time (IE no Equifax freeze - bank doesn’t flag it for fraud - you have plenty of room on the card etc) is even use a credit card vs debit to remove those variables but that’s just me. Also I’d get Apple Care regardless of carrier insurance Incase the gen 1 X has issues or your accident prone like me lol

With Tmobile I have to sign up in store on 11/3 can't pre-order it on the 27th
