Are you currently an Apple upgrade program member? I don’t think you can register new accounts until 10/27 and only existing members can prefill out thier paperwork.. or am I not understanding your question properly? I’ve been wrong before so no worries
I’m not in the program and have to wait till 11/3 and go on store to sign up. I can use the Apple store app next year. Only T-Mobile has this problem when initially signing up for the IUP.
Sorry buddy did Apple tell you that you’re unable to sign up and preorder for T-Mobile on the Apple app on 10/27? I believe IPhone 8+ that was the case for a friend of mine to sign up for Apple upgrade and preorder T-Mobile however keep me honest since it wasn’t me and I’m not on T-Mobile so it’s ok if you tell me to put down the rock pipe lol I just personally am heavily organized and go to the source for answers when it comes to the iPhone preorder rodeo. I wish you all the best regardless and a speedy victory! Do they require you to wait in line for days or is there a predefined T-Mobile process for launch day? Seems rather janky for T-Mobile to force you in store on the nastiest launch day in the history of iPhone preorders

I'm ready, and yes there's a pick up location alreadyHe told me as long as they have open time slots your good to go and you’ll have a separate line etc. However if no time slots available immediately hit back and choose shipping so you don’t miss out. Also sounds like SG 256GB will go fast so be ready for war

So what will the store do if there out of 256 phones when I get there?
How long do they hold reservations for in store pickups? If I have successfully ordered on 27th, do I have to pick it up on Nov 3rd or can I pick it up a few days later?
Your toast unless your camping and one of the first maybe 10 people in-line (only guess on my part given the rumors of shortages etc) so without a preorder reservation time slots your in the wild on your own sanctioned to living in a parking lot for days. Totally sucks I’m sorry might be easier to move carriers at this stage. They won’t do anything unless they have inventory. I’m assuming at this point without a preorder by 1203am shipping could be out weeks or more. You could use Task Rabbit if you are hell bent on the X?
I did this last year for the iPhone 7 plus. Opened a new Verizon account, got the phone, before turning it on went to att and they put in an ATT sim in the phone removing the Verizon one, and when I turned it on it was on my ATT plan. Then I called Verizon and told them the plan was for my grandma but she didn't want the phone so we were cancelling. I got charged but I fought it and they removed it after one billing cycle so I didn't pay anything. You may have to call a few times but it'll get refunded eventually. I had no upgrade fee bc it was a new account lol. Only thing they charged me was taxes and activation fee.
I would like to pre-order an iphone X so I could use it outside the US, but, as I see, there is no SIM free option available. I was thinking about selecting a GSM Carrier (T-Mobile / AT&T) in order to buy it. Is there any way I could create an account with one of those carriers so that I could pre-order and then cancel the contract paying a fee?
I believe they will only hold it for THAT day. Last year I was able to pick up a 7+ because it was refreshed into inventory after a customer didn't pick it up.
Last year I was able to sign up for the 2 phones I needed and get them on launch day. I don't know how it will work this year (of course) but it was very efficient and fast last year.
I always use apply pay on the website or app.

I tested this out last night by pretending to buy an 8 and join IUP. The process is pretty bad and very slow. It makes you fill out EVERYTHING by hand. No Apple Pay allowed, no auto-fill suggestions by Safari, NOTHING. I was surprised how bad it was. I'd guess the process was easily 20x longer than it choosing pay in full with Apple Pay. Oh, and if you back out and try again all of the fields are completely erased! So you can't even go in ahead of time and pre-fill the forms.
On a typical day filling out all these fields by hand wouldn't be so terrible, but when time is of the essence...
I currently have a 128GB but am only suing 50GB, 30GB of which are old photos I rarely need to access. The difference between the 64GB and 256GB is not that much but do you all think a 64GB will suffice? I stream all music and dont store movies. Maybe will download 1 movie before a flight, etc.
