I have a question similar to this.

I have updated all the Billing & Shipping Details. But it still ask me last 3 digits of the back of my VISA card. Is it this normal or what's the other way to save it?

Where does it ask you to enter the last 3 digits of your card? im confused.

If you use option #2, you can pay off your device using the AT&T app early and it will be reflected when you go to buy the X. Apple's system checks with AT&T for your eligibility so AT&T is where the change needs to be made. I did that earlier this week so I would be ready.

If I use the AT&T app to pay off today, will it be reflected in Apple’s system when preorders go live tomorrow at 3:01AM EST?

At the time of the check-out where you have to fill up Billing details. All the details are there as I have saved in my Account but last 3 digits on the back of the card is not written. Though it will take only a second to write it down but I'm just trying to minimise things as much as possible for faster check-out

Can someone who successfully completed the iPhone Upgrade Program process (preapproval then pre-order) through the Apple Store app for iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus, detail their steps to completing the pre-order on the app that night? (Like physically where you go in the app.)

I don’t want to be fumbling around in the Apple Store app tomorrow morning.

Silly question but if you go through and test the order process with the iPhone 8, what is the last step where you should stop before placing the order?

I had been planning on ordering through the Verizon site but finally caved and changed the billing address on Verizon so I could order through the Apple app. But now I feel like I don't know what I'm doing.

The final screen is where it lets you choose delivery or store pickup and where There is a black Button that says “Apple Pay” on the bottom and if you click it will bring up the fingerprint terminal for payment.

Thank you for this. I've been looking for an answer to this question, but I've found conflicting answers.

So, I currently have an unlocked iPhone 7 Plus on AT&T, and I want to buy the iPhone X. I would like to buy the TMobile iPhone X for full price (from Apple) so that I don't have to enter carrier account information to speed up the order process, and I intend to remove the TMO sim and use my unlocked AT&T sim in the iPhone X. If I understand correctly, this should work without a problem?

Reviews usually post on the Tuesday or Wednesday after preorder and before availability.
When I use Apple.com to do dry runs of ordering (yeah sad) it says it will be unlocked with a (whichever carrier I choose) SIM card so it would seem that they won’t be locked. I’m going to get an att and try for a second T-Mobile one for my wife to surprise her since I won’t have her att pin. They’re both favorited at this point and I have a pretty good macro ready that looks for certain form fields and populates them and will click continue through the shipping and billing and agree to terms stuff that work perfectly for the 8 (it’s smart enough to pause if any of the elements are slow to load due to congestion) so if I can get through to the actual site (this has always been my biggest issue) fast I’ll hopefully be good to go. I’ll also have the Apple store on my phone and a second pc to try to get one through AT&T directly if necessary, plus a laptop with some different vpn exit points ready to go to try the Apple store website from alternate locations. Routers/cable modem will be rebooted shortly before as well. I’ve done this before and not been successful (I didn’t try the vpn stuff then), so I know nothing is guaranteed... if I do get both I’m in a rare win win with her if she’s upset about not asking her first “I just got it to resell to pay for mine, but if you want to keep it, it’s yours” :)

Yes, as long as you don't wait until the last minute to do it. Mine updated within a few minutes.

Awesome! I have three other lines eligible for full upgrades. But I’m thinking about leaving those alone, pay off to keep device on my line and upgrade iPhone X with new NEXT plan on my line.

I am in the same boat, figured it was easier to just update my phone and keep the same number of NEXT payments.

Someone said that they ordered through T-Mobile and got their phone a day early, on several occasions.

Does ordering through Apple do this too?

Can anyone tell me if you save the iPhone X model to your favorites will that speed up the process when the site goes live? Or do you need to start from scratch?
I’ve done this but I’m interested to know if this is a technique people have tried every year, or if it is just something we are all doing because we are seeing it discussed on here and every other site with these preorder tips.

I worry that when Apple takes the store down and brings it back up, our favourites will have been reset and then we have to waste valuable seconds going back to the homepage and selecting all again. Which sounds like nothing but when every second counts and servers are crashing left, right and centre, it’s not ideal.

I’ve been going through all the steps for the pre-order using an IP8 on the Apple Store app and have been able to get the final step around a minute? Is this a good time? Worried the pre-approved IUP people will take all my chance of securing an in store pickup for the 3rd!!

I know, a bit excessive. :p
I don’t know if pre approvals get some kinda priority, but I was in the Apple store near me yesterday and the guy told me that they have had 100,000 pre approvals for California ALONE

I have maxed out my business card for the month and it will be paid off on the 28th. Would I still be able to use that card to check out during preorder? I know Apple does a preauthorization check before they actually charge/ship. I don’t want my order to be cancelled because the pre authorizations doesn’t go through. I could use another card, but would prefer not to.
I wouldn’t take any chances, man. Literally every second will count

Why not simply do this yourself right now? That is far easier and will teach you more than someone typing it out here.

Go in an choose an iPhone 8 and select the iPhone Upgrade Program. You can see all the steps and questions. It won't actually do anything (like credit check) until the final step where you complete the order so feel free to play around and learn the process.

I have a question - if I pre order on Friday as soon as it is available and click deliver to store - will this make my iPhone arrive later or would it be the same time as it would take to get to my house? And would clicking deliver to store possibly get my order pushed further down the queue due to many people ordering at the same time as me?
I saw an interesting tip to get it earlier - select for home delivery and then the day before, ask ups or fedex to hold it at depot. It will then be there for you from 8am apparently.

Guys is there any possible way that on the final checkout page when the Apple Pay terminal prompt comes up that tells you to put your fingerprint on the touchid to finish checkout somehow Apple Pay will mess up or ask for some unexpected last digits of card or anything of that sort that will throw me off from finishing the check out?

The billing address in the Wallet app for the VISA card I’m going to use is my current address and I verified multiple times and the wallet app says “CHASE FREEDOM VISA” is ready for Apple Pay

Is it not possible to favourite two phones without having to go through the process two separate times? I'm ordering the black one for me and the silver/white one for my fiancee and I can't seem to find any way to get both in the same list. Both shows under favourites, but I have to go through the ordering process twice.. Once for the black, a second for the white/silver... Is there no way around this?

A question here about payment:

I am going to buy an iPhone X 64 full on T-Mobile. I was going to select pickup at an apple store because of one simple fact. I want to take my old phone 6splus in the store and trade it in and use the credit in the form of an AppleStore gift card to offset the purchase of the new phone(this is what I did with the 6s and the 5s). So if I select pick it up in the store will I pay for the phone before I pick it up?

It seems like in the past you pre-order to Reserve an iPhone for launch today but not "buy" it until you get it.

I’m pretty sure it gets purchased when you place the order on the website

Thanks, 12th man....

Does anyone ever trade in their old iPhones for credit via Apple? How does that factor into the cost of the new iPhone? I only ask because when i did it before they gave you a gift card not cash.

I have a 6S I need to get rid of as well and wish I could pick “store pickup” and trade it in to the. Apple store and use the gift card they give me on the spot towards the purchase of my newly reserved 256gb iPhone X but doing that won’t be that easy and it can ruin the chances of getting the X on release day. When you place a preorder you are making a purchase it’s just that your card won’t get charged till sometime around next week when the iPhone ships (assuming you/I manage to get release date delivery lol)

i don't think in store pickup will be an option on launch day. Also note, if it is an online order you cannot return/rebuy in iphone in store. you can only return, reason being it's part of the online bucket and they won't be able to sell it back to you. This may be dated info, but that was the case when i was at apple a few years ago
