Random FWIW: Last year ordered a 128 GB iPhone 7 Plus in black and never rushed or felt anxious, as it was my first time pre-ordering an iPhone and didn't know what to expect, got a launch day delivery in Los Angeles AND had a 12:10 confirmation email (which is pretty late, right).

Super late if you wanted a JB 7+ as seen in the Jony video.

Think it’s too late to change my address on att.com lol

I mean worst case scenario it ships to my moms house but then I have to drive down to her place after work in delivery day and that’s an extra 90 mins I just can’t handle.....
[doublepost=1509081566][/doublepost]Changing address now on att.com now hoping that’s not gonna mess anything up lol
Not that customer service reps know what they are taking about, but I asked about this yesterday and the rep said changing your address online is instant and should immediately enable you to have it go to the new address for an Apple order

Hell ya

Yes you can do that. I just talked to Apple customer service twice and they said if you use the pay in full option on any carrier then you get an unlocked phone. But of course you need to choose verizon or sprint to get the CDMA + GSM version of the iPhone x unlocked, choose the ATT/T-Mobile version to get GSM only unlocked. Any other payment options are locked to the carrier. I personally am buying the Sprint version of the phone since my friend is letting me use their account details, so that I can activate on my family's Verizon account. (I have some family issues so this is my way of going around the account owner). I'm just gonna pop the SIM card from my iPhone 6 plus into the X and then I'm ready to rock and roll. And for whom it may concern, please be aware, if you go the pay in full route/swap sim in, remember that if you have an insurance plan for you phone through your carrier(like Asurion) you might have to update the coverage to cover the X since its a different phone/more expensive.

Mason M.

I didn't know any of that (about the pay in full process/procedure). Based on what you said, it looks like all I'll have to do is swap the sim cards and will not have to pay any activation fee from my carrier. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct any faulty thinking on my part.
Anyway, thanks for posting!

I've always either ordered an AT&T or Verizon phone from Apple so forgive the (likely) dumb question.

If T-mobile model is compatible with AT&T, why would anyone bother ordering via an AT&T account on Apple.com given the delay with checking upgrade eligibility BS? Just for those that prefer to use AT&T financing?

If paying in full, it seems the T-Mobile version is the quickest to order if you have AT&T, no?

So the best method is the Apple store on the phone? Should I have my back up be the iPad or Apple.com on the MBP?

Trying to figure out how to put my GF to work here too lol I’ll probably have her watch for the ATT code and yell it’ll out to me so i can fire it in ASAP lol

Are T-Mobile and ATT versions the *exaxt same*?

Hey guys, quick question: Do you know what information is used for in store pickup for identification? Your inputted shipping information? Billing information? I know you can add a different name to pick it up, but that would waste precious time!

Also, do you have the ability to change the person picking up your devices after you've ordered?
according to the apple specialists, yes
I'm preparing to make this too,
So I just wish that's there's gonna be a pick up option in the apple store near me when I'm doing the pre-order

What do you mean by ATT "code".. I went into Apple Store app about 5 hours ago before the "we've got something special for you" splash screen went up - and the Apple Store app is very intelligent.. knows what phone u have and what carrier it's on - what kind of plans you're eligible for. I just picked which X I wanted. If it had been available I was at the page where I could have clicked on "purchase".. simple. No codes asked for.

Please elaborate.

Yeah I don’t get this either. I’ve never needed a code. Not last year, and it didn’t ask during preapproval this year. And under my AT&T Remember Me info in the Apple Store app it looked all good to go and didn’t ask for any pin.

I thought PreApproval was only for the Apple Upgrade Program - not ATT purchases.

They are not mutually exclusive. One is a payment plan and the other is a carrier that offfers payment plans. To use iPhone Upgrade Program as an AT&T customer, you still need AT&T to validate

Ah.. well I knew that. What I'm saying is that a person on ATT's payment plan now - can't get any pre-approvals if staying with another ATT payment plan this coming year - despite ordering via Apple Store.

What validation looks like is something different. Only AUP's are eligible for pre-approvals.

Even if you don't get your phone on release day you should still be able to order it. You might just have to wait a little longer for delivery. Hopefully I'll get at least one though.

Is it possible to refresh the Apple Store-app? Does it do it automatically? Or do I have to force close it and re-launch it all the time?
