Hahaha... thanks for your input in your post above this one as well. I too am a firm believer of USING ALL THE PROTECTION

I wound up getting the MagSafe clear case from Apple (wah waaaah), iCarez Tempered glass screen protector, and an Anker 20W brick... now if ONLY that damn phone would arrive.

It really sucks you paid the money for an inaccurate window. Bah. I have a teeny tiny bit of hope I will get my phone by the 29th and the lack of scans isn't raising my hopes.

Welp... I know what NOT TO DO next year.

HAHA. Yah. PROTECTION is a must most times. HA.... So in all honesty ordering directly from Apple was so much smoother that ordering direct from T-Mobile. I just wish Apple and T-Mobile would work together and provide more accurate information. I mean after the iPhone launch we are hearing about defective cases, incorrect magsafe wallets being in the wrong boxes, the magsafe charger causing damage to the phones, and now a new battery gate coming because the iPhone 12/Pro doesn't meet or beat last years battery performance. Which Apple said several times. "smaller battery better performance" which I haven't seen yet.

The iPhone 12/Pro is a fantastic phone. If they increased the battery by just 300mh more I think in terms of battery life the phone would last much longer and provide the performance Apple Claims.

Battery tests show the iPhone 11 Pro beats the 12 in battery life. It should be the opposite.

Disagreeing about the Gold as well. I was in 2 Best Buys and 4 Verizon stores. The Gold doesn’t look like Silver at all. I have a Silver 11 Pro Max now. The frosted glass makes the back look like a soft champagne - in certain light, it will probably look a flat, pale vanilla latte cream, but not white at all. The gold SS band is definitely not a bling, 24K yellow gold like Apple showed on the promos. If that is what a person wants in their Gold, they will be disappointed. The SS gold band is a softer gold that shines, but in no way looks like Silver at all. It looks classy and premium like looking at delicate 14K jewelry. It’s a lot prettier in person than I thought it would be.

What I will add is that everyone here has different tastes which Apple has recognized in adding so many colors and finishes in recent years. So no one here is wrong. We just all know what we personally prefer and therefore want and advocate for - I’m side-eyeing anyone who speaks negatively about Pacific Blue

In the end, it’s best if anyone still in doubt gets to see them in-person if they at all can to form their own opinion. Lucky for us Pro Max/Mini buyers this year that we have the option to do so.

I have a 11 pro max in silver and the backs were too similar to me in color. That’s fine if you disagree but my thoughts about it looking more silver/white aren’t uncommon. It all depends on how it looks to the individual. Every time I see gold on video it looks perfect and how I want, when I se it in person? Looks white/silver to me. I really wanted gold this year so I’m still trying to force myself to see this “gold” y’all are talking about but it’s just not happening. :/

I’m just happy that my XS Max still works well, so the wait is not a problem (other than the kid on Christmas morning thing that I still feel at 73 years of age!). My trade-in box is likely going to beat the phone here, as it did with AW6. Have 14 days to send that off, so should be OK, assuming they get done with this customs clearance thing! I imagine troops of guys with clipboards swarming around pallets on a warehouse dock somewhere, scanning things furiously. Or . . maybe it’s just one, and that’s why it takes so long!

Apple says I must wait up to 7 days to hear back from their order support. Ups says talk to Apple. Lol. They won’t even let me cancel my order, yet they charged me and my Applecare started ticking down time. Neat. I don’t even want the damn thing anymore

I did laugh at the idea of getting the Apple logo since it's pretty neat. but in reality I just got a lovely little humming bird.

I am starting to wonder if Apple predicts this and it is why we were given 10/30 as our date. Everything looked like they were coming early but man they are not moving now. I still don’t understand why it went somewhat smooth for launch day and not smoothly slightly after launch.

Yes, I am bummed. I paid for express shipping, and ordered my phone within minutes of the time ordering was started, but sadly did not make the first wave. Apple says 10/30, UPS said tomorrow. It has been "awaiting approval" for over 24 hours. Sigh. My apple watch went from China to my house in ONE DAY, with no holdups. I also have one more ordered w/o express shipping, slated to get here 11/4....just in case the first one has "yellow screen" or something else. Grrrrrrr.......

We must be on the same delivery wave. Mine is still showing the exact same, delivery on UPS of 27th, but on Apple the 30th. I keep checking every few hours for an update but nada.

Not sure how long customs normally take, but I am assuming the UPS server is just lagging and the shipment is already in Kentucky.

I say this because I order a tempered glass screen protector from Verizon, and UPS showed exceptions and no updates until the day of delivery. I asked for that delivery to be held but it got reversed on their end and still delivered. I was out for the weekend so I was pretty irritated with UPS. Something is up with their servers.

Right... if I hold for pick up does it change my delivery day or does it become available the day of scheduled delivery? Well, the hours don't work for me but to hell with it. I'll just have to tell my boss I need to go. I'm going to call my local CC in Van Nuys and confirm their hours. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is not great for me but oh well.

It should become available on the day of delivery. Working only 4 hours that day? See if you can take a short break?

Wondering why I paid an extra $8 for “express shipping” when my phone has just been sitting in China for 3 days after it shipped. It’s got the exact same tracking info as my friend’s phone that shipped the same day without paying for express shipping. Wtf??

I got the gold 11 Pro and hated it. Too yellow for me. I haven’t seen it in person but I think I would like the 12 Pro gold much better. I ordered the Pacific Blue this time. Try and see them all in person before you make your decision. Like others have said, get the one that speaks to you.

I chatted with Apple support about my iPhone 12 not displaying notifications on most 3rd party apps.

We went through a bunch of things which did not help, so we were about to do a factory restore.

I connected the phone to my iMac and went into recovery mode. A popup was displayed that there was an update that needed to be installed before anything could be done. I checked and the phone was running 14.1. Hit the update button and something downloaded and installed on the phone.

The Apple rep said that there should have been no update because he could see from the diagnostics that we ran that it was already runnning 14.1...I wonder what was missing that needed to be updated.

Anyone else have an update?

One Cargolux flight is supposed to leave Zhengzhou any time now. Another just appeared that leaves in a couple hours. Hopefully we all finally see some movement today. With the time change there is still a great chance they could meet the 10/28 delivery dates, and maybe even the 10/27 dates. They just need to move already.

@Painter2002 I like your idea that they are already stateside and the server is just having issues. Would love that to be the case.

Last year mine took about 1.5-2 days to clear all the documentation scans. I remember being irritated then, too.

See I’m absolutely with you on the being patient thing. I’m just super anxious because I desperately want it before I leave on the 30th and my Apple delivery date is 10/30-11/4 but UPS showed 10/28 which doesn’t mean much if the phone is still in China! But anyway....

My husband and I keep cracking jokes that if the phone isn’t here until Friday I’m going to have an “upset stomach” which will magically heal once I have the phone.

I’d love to be able to take this phone with me me on our trip. I may have to hold it at UPS. SIGH.

We are supposed to get our new sofa on the 29th as well so if everything can please just get here by that date that’d be great.
