Other Apple.com iPhone 12/Pro/Max/Mini Pre-Order/Order Status/Delivery Thread (2020) [Merged]

I chatted with Apple support about my iPhone 12 not displaying notifications on most 3rd party apps.

We went through a bunch of things which did not help, so we were about to do a factory restore.

I connected the phone to my iMac and went into recovery mode. A popup was displayed that there was an update that needed to be installed before anything could be done. I checked and the phone was running 14.1. Hit the update button and something downloaded and installed on the phone.

The Apple rep said that there should have been no update because he could see from the diagnostics that we ran that it was already runnning 14.1...I wonder what was missing that needed to be updated.

Anyone else have an update?

I too wasn't getting any 3rd party notifications on new 12 pro. I decided to open each one before reinstalling OS. After opening up each 3rd party app, notifications immediately started working both on the phone and Apple Watch. As far as that file, I too got the same message first time I connected my new 12 to Mac. It downloaded and phone showed up in finder without any other issues.

I did that before I call Apple support. Matter of fact, I actually deleted and reinstalled ones that I know that I did not receive notifications from...had my Xs Max on wi-fi and were receiving notifications.

You just ordered? And my 12 pro ordered the 17th is still nov 9-16

I LOVE Veruca Salt the band. Hey-they released Ghost Notes in 2015. Not all that long ago. It was pretty good!

That’s a iTunes/finder update it gives to sync the new phones it wasn’t for your phone itself but rather the computer. Same pop up when I plugged mine into my MacBook 👍

Disagreeing about the Gold as well. I was in 2 Best Buys and 4 Verizon stores. The Gold doesn’t look like Silver at all. I have a Silver 11 Pro Max now. The frosted glass makes the back look like a soft champagne - in certain light, it will probably look a flat, pale vanilla latte cream, but not white at all. The gold SS band is definitely not a bling, 24K yellow gold like Apple showed on the promos. If that is what a person wants in their Gold, they will be disappointed. The SS gold band is a softer gold that shines, but in no way looks like Silver at all. It looks classy and premium like looking at delicate 14K jewelry. It’s a lot prettier in person than I thought it would be.

What I will add is that everyone here has different tastes which Apple has recognized in adding so many colors and finishes in recent years. So no one here is wrong. We just all know what we personally prefer and therefore want and advocate for - I’m side-eyeing anyone who speaks negatively about Pacific Blue 😂

In the end, it’s best if anyone still in doubt gets to see them in-person if they at all can to form their own opinion. Lucky for us Pro Max/Mini buyers this year that we have the option to do so.

Well said! We all have different tastes. I have the gold 12 Pro. I love it and think it is very tasteful. I got a chance to see them all at the Apple store when I picked up my phone at launch. I liked some better than others but didn't see any that I thought were bad. I was admiring the Pacific Blue which is awesome and was offered the chance to switch, but decided to stay with my first choice.

I may be a bit of a child with this, but I feel like I can’t settle in with this 6.1” Pro knowing I’m gonna get the 6.7” one. First world problems...... I do rather enjoy the form factor of this model, but I am so used to the larger screen and significantly larger battery that I am having a hard time adjusting. I do have the 12.9” iPad Pro, but I don’t really carry that with me everywhere so having the larger iPhone will be nice. The better sensors/OIS on the 6.7” is just icing on the cake. Ugh.

My ideal setup would be a 6.3” Pro and a 6.9” Pro max. Both with the exact same specs minus the obvious battery and screen size. I think the 6.3” would be perfect.

Mine showed a picture of an iPhone and said that it was downloading software to my Mac to update my iPhone. Then my my phone restarted and had the Apple logo with a progress bar. Definitely loaded software to my iPhone 12.

You must have very large hands because I have smaller hands and I can not work the display on my XS Max without resorting to iPad style (2 hands).

I love my 12 Pro - it's the same size as my 11.

Hiya, can somebody tell me bc I’m getting frustrated. My phone was shipped on Friday, left customs and facility and after 6h came back to the same facility. During weekend nothing happened (the delivery day was tomorrow the 27th Oct) but yesterday during the day the status changed to (pic attached). I called ups and one lady said that the phone is already in USA, then te guy said that didn’t left China yet. So when I will get it?

I did Hold a 12 pro max case today. I was planning on getting it.. But not now. It is just too huge both in the pocket and hands. I have big hands and it just felt too big.. Deff. Getting the 12 pro

I sympathize with everyone still in wait mode - I got my beautiful iPhone 12 in Pacific Blue on Friday and I absolutely love everything about this phone. I upgraded from the iPhone X and I am so happy I decided to make the move this year. Like many - I have rocked the Space Gray for a while and decided that I wanted a completely new color. If it makes anyone feel better - I am now back in wait mode for the new iMac I ordered today. My mid-2011 iMac is limping and it is a matter of time.

Just finally got my 12 in black. Honestly feels a bit cheap compared to my launch day iPX. Maybe its the fact that its so much lighter and still has a big bezel. Im sure ill get used to it quickly
