I did learn that you can keep your previous iCloud for 4TB of storage if you add Apple one, but if you don't you manually cancel your old iCloud and update to Apple one.

So you will pay what ever Apple one is + 9.99 for iCloud if you forget to cancel it.

It took my iPhone a couple of days to figure out what apps go to the cloud. and what stays on the phone.
Then after looking at settings on day 2, And traveling to Memphis and back to Nashville. It was working great.
Looked in settings and everything was perfect.
Correct! It does take a few days for all the background Indexing. The key is to leave the phone plugged in overnight.

I didn't get a free trial, I was charge immediately. I hope the prorate the charges from the previous services.

Any word on what happens to things currently on a free trial (like Apple TV+)? Is there a proration or you just forfeit the remainder of the free period? I want to sign up for the $30 plan but still have free Apple Arcade and TV+.

Does anyone know when the extended return policy starts for the holidays? Does that apply to the phones also? I’m going from 11 Pro to 12 Pro Max so it would really help to have a little more time.

there included in the $30 plan, so I'd assume you forfeit the remainder of the free plan.

This year was terrible for us on the iPhone upgrade program. I made a big, long, bitchy post about it last week. Hoping this was just some kind of pandemic related glitch, and not an indication of Apple’s decline in customer service.

That said, now that I have my shiny, pretty phone in my hands I am a bit more forgiving 😂

Link? At this point, any interaction w/ Apple and UPS feels like screaming into the void, so I'm just going to wait until I get my escalation "callback" to complain some more

The most hilariously frustrating part is that my partner also managed to get a launch day spot, but hers was seemingly on a different truck and got delivered first thing on launch day morning. So I've spent a week fondling, er, handling her device.

Last year it started on 11/15.

in prior years it started earlier, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple waited until after the Pro Max launch date.

That’s probably right though you could preorder for in store pick up and choose whatever date it starts, couldn’t you? How many days are usually listed to choose from for in store pickup? Also they hold them for so many days after that pick up date I think.
