Yea if the apple store were to close again they usually call me and let me know and they keep the store open for three days before it temporarily closes again. Apple store has been closed 4 weeks here and just reopening, but as a express pick up only. They will put a wall up with check in window for pick ups.
Always a possibility. If you have an apple store near you. Check daily to see if anything shows up. Of they have the one you are looking for. Order it and get the ready for pick up email. Cancel the other once you pick it up.
A friend ordered around the same time, and it was cleared to leave factory and arrived at airport at 0800 Local China time today 10/31 8:00AM. UPS says delivery on the 6th, and the Apple said Nov 9th - 16th. If it's already at the airport, it might get here before the 6th. So that's a couple days early.

My stomach hurts just by reading this😜. I don’t know if after these past few weeks of reading the anticipation and frustration of the 12 and 12 pro buyers waiting for and tracking their orders if I’ll be sane at the end of this. Yes, honestly that’s why I didn’t even think in store pick up was an option! Our Governor (Los Angeles) has had things pretty shut down I didn’t even think malls were open!
I’m leaning toward deliver and then holding at my local UPS center again to grab first thing in the morning. COVID cases skyrocketing who knows which Apple stores will be open even in express capacity in two weeks.
Yeah I’d do the same. Apple has been pretty conservative closing their stores. And Pritzker is an absolute idiot. He talks about science but seems to govern based on hunches. The guy is a joke.
5G is definitely a battery killer. But maybe the phone is still updating/indexing stuff?
Yeah I definitely have to give it some more time. For the minimal usage (IG, safari and occasional pictures/video) I expected a lot more.
Battery life is the only reason I’m considering getting Pro Max. I came from a XS Max which had amazing battery but I just love the size of the smaller Pro. I feel like its the perfect size for me.
