that's my question as well. Will NEXT continue to be a thing or are they looking to push people onto some new 5G plan which at the moment I'm not interested in at all. They make their money either way -- Cheap Phone/Expensive Plan or Cheap Plan/Expensive Phone.
Well NEXT is still a thing because when I ordered iPhone 12 for my spouse (who was NOT already on NEXT), NEXT options were presented during the process (which today is an optional $5 fee to upgrade early).

My real question is about being already on NEXT and upgrading through Apple...which I've done without issue for several years in a row. I guess It shouldn't be any different now, it is just presented more strangely than in the past.

How does the iOS store app refresh when preordering starts? What I mean is: If at the preorder start time I try to order, coming from the favorites page, but the product page still displays as not ready for ordering (i.e. as it displays now for the mini and PM), then how do I refresh the page to catch the moment preordering becomes possible? Do I have to somehow (how?) exit and reenter the product page? Or does it refresh by itself?

Anyone in a rising COVID area and thinking about retail closures like what happened in the UK? I prefer to pick it up in store on launch day because it avoids my worrying about UPS just skipping my house for the day (has happened several launch days), they deliver late in the day, and not worrying about tracking it.
However, I’m worrying about a possible COVID closure. If the local stores (3 possible ones) close because of government induced lockdown or on their own accord, I’d have to wait a while till they opened back up or I could get a new order delivered which would be a few weeks by how the Pro inventory is looking at the moment.
I am sure if there is closure in your county or state, Apple will ask if you would like it delivered.
US deliveries are fine with Citizen's One iUP or Loan, GS Apple Card, or carrier.

The UK is different - they don't have the option to have their iUP iPhone delivered - they must appear in person like we in the US had to do the first year....

I'm only picking up at the store if I see that I still have the option after a date slip. If dates slip, I'll be on the hunt come launch day.

I'm thinking so. It's hard to say exactly how fast since the Mini will be a factor as well. Not only do you have those of us who have been waiting for the Pro Max, there's also a number of people who thought they wanted the Pro (or were just trying it out), but are now switching for the Pro Max.

The best thing to do is to be ready with multiple devices, close any unnecessary programs/apps, and make sure your internet/data is the fastest speed, especially if you are after Pacific Blue or Graphite.
I was wondering if the ordering will be less because the process is not right after an iPhone event like it usually is. Are scores of others waiting to order like we are on MacRumors? Or is interest less since time has passed since the Apple event and a lot of stores aren’t open to continue hyping the iPhones? Also the election is a distraction maybe? We will see tomorrow. I think the orders may be fewer numbers? Save a Gold Pro Max for me!

That's always a little bit of a problem, i don't think the store has ever opened on time, and then everyone is hitting it and you don't get a good response. I always have to exit and get back in, but i'm impatient.

Force quit the app and relaunch over and over again to refresh.

Cool thanks. Mmm I may have to rethink LOL. But I also carry my tips in cash with me so that may be a problem.
I do think it would have be wise to have a little sleeve on the front for cash, but oh well. I will try folding up some ones and see if I can slip them between the cards, although I am assuming they won't fit without adding even more pressure to the mix.

It's still nice for what it is. For me, it forced me to rethink how I use my wallet and ditch the brick in the back of my pocket, but for some, it might just be an alternative when you want to go out "light" for the evening or for traveling purposes.

Don’t feel bad. Here is my count for emails and not much for texts.

If you don't mind me asking, what app are you using to get those custom icons and layout?

What exactly do you mean by exit? Exit the product page? Switch away from the app? Kill the app?

I'm hoping the general public is thinking about the holidays with all of the early Black Friday deals happening now and electronics like the PS5 coming up next week. There's usually a group who will want to see if there will be any additional deals from the carriers or retailers like Best Buy/Costco/Target.

I'm just experimenting. Normally I would charge while I sleep. I got the same case. It sucks! Hard trying to push buttons. Check out the Huckberry Rugged leather iPhone case. And beautiful accessories.
Hey @DeweyCox ! Your wife was the one who has the clear MagSafe case, right? How is she liking it? I think I may end up keeping mine after all. After I tried out my aftermarket case I wasn't too thrilled. I've never had a leather case before but may look into them. If I hadn't gotten the MagSafe charger I'd probably return this case. The aftermarket cases made the 12 Pro feel kind of cheap, sadly.

EDIT: Dang, ya'll - your millions of unread messages is stressing me out! I'm the kind of person that can't stand the red alerts!

Coming up soon. 7 Central is a chaotic time around my house with kids leaving, so I told my wife to hold down the fort, while I lock myself in the bathroom to complete my order.

That’s funny. I have one who is doing virtual learning and the other one have a doctor’s appointment which isn’t until. 11:45am. I’ll be up at 7:30am to wake my daughter up before she log in for school at 8:15am.
