Just preordered my iphone 12 pro max pacific blue. Picking it up in store on friday. only 256gb version available.

Im giving my 512gb 12 Pro to my father and returning the 128gb i originally ordered.

In the end...i just want the bigger phone. I really really like my pro but i have some concerns with battery size and drain so I want to futureproof myself.

Congrats to all the peeps who got their 12 pro max on launch day.

This might be a dumb question, but what is the point of tracking flights and all of that stuff if people already know its going to be here on the 13th? what am I missing here?
*post gets 257 blank stares...*

It's like kids tracking Santa on Christmas Eve or the Great Pumpkin on Halloween. Its just something that's fun for us as a community.

It’s also very fascinating how iPhone gets travelled from China to your home local destination.

It’s fun to track the iPhone. Knowing the time, the flight information, different type of scans, when it gets released through the customs or when it gets a release authorization from the government✍️ and so much more...

It’s very hard to explain. You pretty much have to order the phone yourself to experience the journey. People have been doing it for years.

There is a reason there are over 13,000 posts with over 500 pages. We’re not here to waste anyone’s time but to share the excitement and the journey together.

Understood. I just thought there was something more to it... I was like "why are they so obsessed with tracking this thing when they already know the delivery date" lol..... I understand now.

My advice: Don't mess with it. Apple pre-orders have special delivery instructions with UPS and invariably there are always people who think they can treat it like any other shipment and start screwing with the delivery holds and delivery windows, etc. Just don't. You can't intercept it. You can't get it sooner. All you can do is screw it up. Just leave it alone, and it will be delivered on launch day.
All of my iPhones, iPads, and watches have had modified shipping to be picked up at the UPS distro center here without any issue, so YMMV.

Yeah, it doesn't come sooner (technically) but I get it about 12 hours sooner as I don't have to wait for the truck to drive around all day before getting to my house.

Again YMMV

Still seeing PB 256gb for launch day delivery two hours later. I'm surprised! As much as I wanted to do pick up in store, Arizona is spiking again with COVID so I'm doing all my orders for delivery at home.

Also, MagSafe was backordered until 16th-23rd, but BestBuy seems to have them in stock. I'll have leather case (from Apple) and MagSafe from BestBuy next Wednesday, and phone delivery on Friday.
