Anyone know what to expect with In Store Pick-Up when ordered at midnight on 10/27? Better chance of getting it on launch day than via mail?

Unless you live in a very un-technological area, stores sell out really quickly, there is a much, much larger batch available for online shipping, but you could get lucky, especially if you buy a less-popular option (not sure which combination of the 4 is going to be less popular this year). Also, online sales generally don’t sell out, the ship date just keeps getting later and later.

If you do manage to get an in-store-pickup order, then generally there are two lines that morning, one for preorders, a much larger one for walk-ins.

Thanks. Luckily, hardly wastes any time when checking out to check for in store availability. Also, I have over 5 Apple Stores in my area so hopefully that'll up the chances. :D UGH, so anxious.

Normally I would upgrade through T-Mobile and use my JUMP!, but I think I’m going to pay in full through Apple this year when preordering my X.

No. Only T-Mobile, AT&T and carriers using GSM network. You could not use it for Verizon, Sprint and other carriers using CDMA network.

thanks for the reply. So if I buy iPhone from sprint or verizon, will it work on att, tmobile? I just want to make sure I get correct model for iPhone X

Yes. Verizon and Sprint iphones are the universal phone for themselves, AT&T and T-Mobile and all other carriers using GSM and CDMA

I still dont understand why they dont just make them all the same. I'm with T-Mobile but always get the Verizon version primarily because it makes selling it easier down the road as there are more potential buyers.

I guess they make the T-Mobile only version to allow that carrier to jail people to their service? I cant think of any other reason for this.

How do you get the Verizon version?

Is there a way to shorten the order process when pre ordering the iPhone X through apple store app with ATT&T next. I have my carrier information readily available but there are few more steps involved which take few more previous seconds.

Any tips on how to make the process when pre ordering on apple store app with AT&T next?

I need to get prequalified for the IUP. I can’t use the Apple store to upgrade my Verizon line so I’m going to switch to IUP. If I have some extra steps, so be it.

This will be my first time pre-ordering, and I need to grab one for me and my wife. Can you pre-order for two lines at once, or would I have to pre-order for one line, then go back and repeat the process for the next line?

What do you think is the best strategy for getting a pre-order on the iPhone X from the first few batches? I think the options are, apple store, Phone in to apple, apple store web site, apple store app, phone the carrier, carrier website? When I got the apple watch 3, there was not the same pent up demand, but I found that the app opened at midnight but the web site did not open till about 12:05?

Thoughts?

No thanks. Switched to T-Mobile 2 years ago and never looked back.
I switched to Verizon from
t-Mobile and never look back as well ;):) Verizon is the top Wireless carrier in the US and I have enjoyed all benefits from it: widest coverage in many areas, coverage inside buildings, “universal” iphone type, etc. I am fortunate to be able to afford it.
