I just called Apple told them what is going on with my Black 64GB Verizon
order? i place the pre order within 10mins of pre sales, the rep told me it is shipping from the US. Also asked me
are they Apple store closet to me, i told her yes 1 in my town and 2 other
in towns 10 to 20 mins away.
They told me it will be shipping from one of them.:)

I ordered a 64gb verizon and I just got my tracking number an hour ago. I was using chrome and nothing came up but on safari it finally came up.
 
Finally got my tracking to work by reference. my order was tuck on Preparing for Shipment for the past 2 days. Looks like my 16GB Black AT&T was in USA the whole time.

Scheduled Delivery: Friday, 09/21/2012, By End of Day
Shipped By UPS Next Day Air®

I think she is full of crap. It makes absolutely not sense to have it ship from your local store.

Huh, I believe the part of the quote in Bold, but not the part that is in Italics. I think she was feeding you a line because she was tired of answering the same question.

I'm upset Apple went with UPS this year. I got my 4S from FedEx last year and it arrived 1 day early from when it was supposed to.
 
What would be the criteria?

Do you think are there any difference based on the order method. I ordered at 3:39ET via iPhone (Store app) and still no update. It is still in 'Processing Items'.

I have the date as 9/21 and I do not have any doubt that I will get it on time, but just trying to understand what would be the reason of different ordering and priorities.

Based on location?
Based on how it is ordered?
Name ordered?
Customer status (old or new)?

What would be the criteria?

I doubt it I per-ordered on the desktop website on my computer at 3:14am ET and mine is still stuck at "Processing Items". Not sure why it's taking them forever to change for some and not for others.

Mine says "Preparing for shipment" but is already in KY according to UPS tracking

All i can tell you, i know i order my iPhone 5 within the first 10 mins, and i did not even need to stay up or wake up in the middle of the night.
I am now overseas so it was 10:10am.
