I put in my order within the first 15 mins and got my confirmation email before 3:30a est and it's still preparing for shipping.

I checked my profile and it's still not there and I tried all the numbers on my account at ups and nothing :( should I be worried its a 64gb black.

Maybe the only good thing is my CC has been charged since Friday and my upgrade already changed

Of course, as soon as I write to Otterbox.com for estimating that my Defender would ship Friday and then letting it slip until next Friday, they ship it. Cancelled Amazon order for now, even though I would have saved on shipping. We will see.

lol hope not.. hope it comes a day early :D

I think it would be wise for Apple and the carriers to allow a day early arrival. They've done it in the past, so I'm holding out hope.

Due to the high demand of pre-orders, servers are going to get bogged down on Friday with all the activation requests. A one day early arrival will free up a tremendous amount of resources for Friday's activation requests. Fingers crossed!

Have you tried FedEx? Apple uses more than 1 shipping partner. Mine still shows "preparing for shipment" on Apple's website even though it has left China, been to Korea...then Anchorage, and now Louisville.

Don't fret, if Apple says 21 Sept, it will arrive on time.

Email from Apple - Order Delayed

I ordered my phone direct from apple here in the UK at 08:37, as early as I could make it through the system and I have just received an email from apple saying that my order will take an extra 1-2 days to reach me :( One of my colleagues also just got the same email, although another didnt!

Oddly, the order page on the apple website doesnt seem to have updated to reflect this and it still estimates delivery on the 21st so not sure how long it'll take now as its a public holiday on monday so will wait and see if theres any movement on the order soon!

Might it have something to do with where you live? I'm in Cardiff and ordered at 8:45 and still looking on time here.

Im not sure. Im getting it delivered to work so its in the city centre, not far from the apple store! Im hoping its just a blip and might not actually end up being late!
Its certainly not helping my obsessive order checking habits! :)

My 64GB Black came from China, Shipped Sunday.

My 16GB Black Came from IL, Shipped this AM.

Both arriving Friday.

If you only see one of your phone's using reference tracking, the other should show up with it once it has shipped. I knew to check again because I saw the charge finalized in my bank account (no longer pre-auth.)

Your phone was made early August and was shipped to the states weeks ago. Its just lounging in a Tenn or Il coffee shop, just waiting and relaxing for the notice from Apple to go do its job for you. :) Since there no need to ship it all the way from China, there is no rush to put it in the system and get lost within UPS.. .

(old post bump)

Turns out you were right. Although my phone was made in September, it sure was sitting in Nashville having a beer and listening to some tunes.

It seems to be that quite a few people who live in Scotland are receiving emails/calls from Apple about their delivery date being delayed by a day or two.

At the moment, it only seems to be Scotland though.

Instead of flying from Anchorage to Louisville or being driven from Nashville to Louisville, I think my phone is hitchhiking from Nashville to Louisville. Even though my little guy left Nashville at around 3:06 Central time yesterday, it still hasn't shown up in Louisville yet. Interesting...

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Black 16GB AT&T. Still no tracking info. Does come up on My Profile since yesterday noon though. While I know its in the US, tracking info would provide some peace of mind, especially since other devices of the same model have begun to ship from IL and TN.

Honestly, I think it'll update later on again in Nashville. I've seen a couple of screenshots of phones showing "departure from Nashville" on one day only to show the same update a day later. I think this method helps them keep track of the devices without actually shipping them close enough to your hub so somebody accidentally places them on the delivery truck and you get it early. Just an observation based on a couple of screenshots I've seen here.

same. I located it by reference # but it still shows preparing for shipment on apple.com.

Mine says it is still processing the order. Should I be worried. I ordered it 3:30 AM EST friday.

Those of you that like me had phones that arrived in Anchorage at 3:06pm, I just noticed mine departed at 12:58AM. I'm guessing it's on this flight going to Louisville that departed at 1:12AM. I didn't notice any other flights leaving out of Anchorage around that time.

Mine departed Anchorage at 12:58AM as well! Our phones are on the same flight!! :)
