Apple.com Preorder Status Thread (merged)

I know it's only Tuesday, but I'm anxious to get the shipped notification so I can pre-sign. I can't get a commitment from anyone at my house to be home on Friday. My wife gets annoyed whenever I talk about the phones anymore, and the sitter said she likes to take my kids out on Fridays. I'm betting someone will be there, but like the rest of you, I'm a bit OCD and anxious until the wife calls and tells me the boxes are on the counter.

That's a good point. Anyone else agree with this? I'm also in Boston (Waltham) and mine was originally in IL. Departed from there yesterday at 6. I'm having mine sent to work, since UPS always stops at 8:30, 10:30, and 12 :D
 
My UPS tracking info only shows my town, state, and country (US), and NOT my actual street address. Is this something to be concerned about?

Just to clarify. The authorized hold (pending) goes on there once the order has been submitted. It might fall off, but it'll go on there again. It's status changes from pending to final once it has shipped, not delivered.

Mine was pending since Friday morning, it finally posted this morning. Just paid it.

CC payment went through this morning for me as well. Everything's starting to come together. I feel like I'm not going to be doing much at work this week. Oops!
 
Mine finally showed up on UPS by using my phone # as the reference.

It's in Nashville

Ordered 3:34 am eastern on the 14th. Black 32Gig Verizon iPhone5

I have this exact problem. Ordered two 16 GB's. Both within 30 min of preorder. Both are listed as being delivered 9/21. On my account page, one is in processing, and one is in preparing for shipment. Using my phone number as a reference number on UPS, I get a tracking number, but only for one package. My support profile only shows one iPhone. However, I used two different credit cards for payment, and they both have charges. I'm gonna give it some more time. Don't think it is necessary to call yet.

As for the bolded, it's normal routine for companies to charge your card to make sure you have enough money, then drop the charge, then it will go through again in full.

Mine still in "Preparing for shipment" status.. one was via standard mail and other is just delivery..

Mine was on that flight as well, but did not stay on 59 to Ontario but instead seems to have hoped onto UPS2997 which left is bound for Louisville and destined to land around 10:28 AM EDT today.

That's right. The one that I am getting shipping info on is a 32gb (black, att) and the one that isn't showing as shipped and the charge was pulled back on is a 16gb (white, att).

The 16gb does still say delivers by 9/21 so I'm going to stay optimistic Apple is still going to come through. Weird they pulled back the charge though, that concerns me a bit. In any event, thanks for the response!

Edit - Oh, and about the pending to firm charges on the card... I understand they do a "check" by preauthorizing the card... I just thought it was odd one charge dropped off and one became firm. But maybe thats protocol for the charge to drop off after X days regardless of if the item shipped or not, and since one item has "shipped" and the other has not yet, only one charge came through. All of this is of course a little funny since all of the phones have probably "shipped" but are being held back to coordinate a Friday delivery.

Read up. All of us are. Our orders are in the air and stateside but the Apple status hasn't changed. No need to worry over it.

This seems to be the general consensus! My 16GB charge came off for a few hours, but its back on as pending. Your 16GB will probably ship today or tomorrow, as most of them are already here in the States and don't need to make the long trip from China!

That's somewhat good, I'm on the same boat.
It means that we have a phone allocated, but they possibly have not been shipped yet. Don't worry, Apple is using Next Day Air service, so the cut off is Thursday. I'm sure by tonight/tomorrow we'll both have our tracking numbers!

We must be hitch hiking together. I ave driven that drive, it don't take that long. Guess is that there is quite the large qty of phones on that shipment being processed.
