My second order that hadn't shipped for some reason has finally been given a label on UPS. Still nothing from Apple as far as a shipping notice for either phone.

Package departed from Anchorage at 12:58AM 18th and no movement on tracking since than. Anyone else with this? I see people whos package departed from Anchorage at 2:32PM 18th, and has already arrived at new location.

Hopefully that plan is OK

I can't even begin to fathom the logistical on taking doing something like this requires. It really is a modern marvel. UPS as a corporation is really impressing me.

Did you mean 12:58 AM? If so, I'm in the same boat

So do other people have two reference numbers on their UPS tracking page? My package is 0.9lbs and the first number is 10 digits that I don't recognize, the second reference number is my cell phone number. Any ideas? I kinda thought it may be two iPhones that they will split up later, but I ran the number on whitepages and it's not a recognized area code.

.9 lbs is one iPhone. As far as I know, the ref numbers are your phone number, most of your order number, and then a few other numbers that no one knows the meaning of.

Anyone know of any sleeping pills that will let me sleep until the 21st? Just want to wake up, and BOOM phone arrives. :D

These days are kind of going slow, however I am enjoying these forums!

I agree!! It blows my mind! If it was me handling all of these shipments, all of you (including myself) would have Holiday Shipping and get them on christmas :p

So jealous ! Everyone has a tracking number and iPhone doing good miles.

Mine still at Preparing for Shipment

It still says will be delivered on 21st , i think they must have stock in Sydney otherwise its 6.30pm Wednesday do you think it will be hereon Friday morning from China?

While it is impressive that they're able to coordinate this I've found that UPS package receive more damage than any other service (and I ship out a lot of stuff).

Most damage at ups happens inside the ground semis. Pack items accordingly in strong boxes. Most importantly learn how to tape them properly! (not you per se just people in general)

Same as you guys, but I'm in with some people with this little twist.

Location Date Local Time Activity
Anchorage, AK, United States 09/18/2012 12:58 A.M. Departure Scan
Louisville, KY, United States 09/18/2012 12:07 A.M. Arrival Scan

Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong 09/17/2012 9:34 P.M. Departure Scan

09/16/2012 8:39 A.M. Origin Scan
China 09/16/2012 9:43 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

I'll rest easier as soon as I get a departure scan for Louisville, but I'm hoping
I'm in Louisville and all good.

This is my exact route, still sitting in Louisville this morning. Now I can't get that bluegrass tune out of my head - 8 more mile to Louisville, the hometown of my heart...

My partner is a UPS package car driver and has been instructed to go into work early on Friday and start his route early so customers can get their iPhones. He may still end his route late due to the amount of regular deliveries that day.

Meanwhile both of our iPhones tracking has not been updated.

His Black 32GB AT&T left Anchorage at 12:58 AM on the 18th
My White 64GB AT&T left Chek Lap Kok at 4:12 AM on the 19th on UPS59 which is scheduled to land in 10 minutes

My 64GB iPhone arrived in Anchorage via UPS59 @ 9:43PM and departed @ 11:12PM via UPS2997 headed for Louisville, KY

The 32GB iPhone is still showing as departing Anchorage at 12:58AM on the 18th. I am sure it is in Louisville, KY waiting for a flight to Ontario, California

That would take all the fun out of it! Lat time I did this was in March when we were tracking our iPad 3rd gen. When it finally arrived, on the promised date by the way despite lots of people worrying and making 15 calls a day to Apple, it was almost anti-climactic.

Will wonders never cease, I finally have tracking info on my phone via UPS and my phone number as a reference number. It's been in Nashville since 3:51 PM on 9/18, scheduled for delivery 9/21 by the end of the day. :D

I love how to Canadian iPhones don't even have a solid reference number to allow us to track our phones. I don't know whether my phone is in chek lap Kok or down the street from me!

10/5 - Two Weeks ship date

Just curious to see if anyone with a date other than 9/21 has seen any movement.

I ordered a 64GB AT&T at 4:50a EST on 9/14 and got a 10/5 delivery date. I have a feeling it will arrive earlier though.

Thanks

While that is true and I hate to say this but UPS technology can only go so far. I worked as a preloader/package handler years ago for both UPS and FedEx. While some damage will come from transporting, a lot of damage comes from package handlers mishandling packages and drivers themselves. Countless times I witnessed drivers kicking and throwing packages in the back of trucks and even straight onto pavement. We even had a FedEx driver (who was terminated) buy a storage unit to keep packages in because he couldn't keep up with his deliveries. You'd be shocked and some of the things that happen to packages during their routes to the destination.
