placed my orders beginning at 3:24am on Friday morning - have 3 iPhones eligible for upgrade on my family plan so did 3 separate orders. all are listed as "Delivers 9/21 with Standard Shipping" but are all still in the "Preparing for Shipment" status. i'm sure everything will be alright, but just weird that it is now Wednesday and they haven't moved (or at least, been updated) yet?

I pre ordered three iPhone 5's within the first half hour and began checking their status on Monday. One left Anchorage AK two days ago. One is sitting in Illinois. The other was moved from Illinois to Kentucky yesterday.
I went on Apple website and the orders are still being worked on. In reality the phones have been in UPS possession since the 16th based on UPS tracking.
ME? I'm just happy they are on their way!

Ordered both my wife and I iPhone 5's within 10 minutes of them opening for preorder early that morning.
I'm getting the 64 and she the 16. Both still say "preparing for shipment" and are due to arrive on the 21st.
I've tried every number I imaginable in the UPS tracking and I'm seeing nothing. Tried my order number for each phone, ya know, the W**** number and I've also tried the phone number associated with my itunes account.
Still nothing.
I'm kind of in the boat of , 'eh, I don't care as long as it's here the 21st', but now I'm maybe slightly concerned because all of you are seeing shipping logs and know exactly where your phones are and I have no earthly idea! I don't care if it's still on a plane from china, I just wanna know, lol. This whole tracking thing has intrigued me and now I'm reaching the point that I'm actually worried I can't find any info. Maybe I'll just call Apple up and ask for my shipping info.

Probably in Il like a lot of other, they will ship from there via Next Day Air. So it probably won't ship until late today or some time tomorrow.
I think everyone has that status, some are still processing. I'm guessing the status won't change until after the phones are on their way to the local distribution centers, perhaps Tomorrow or late tonight.
I have preordered a 64gb black with Telstra in Australia on the 14th of september, however I am starting to think that i should have went for the white as I have always chosen black.

The kids are just buzzing downtown Seattle with it, having a little fun.
There are thousands of phones sitting in Louisville that haven't been scanned in there yet.
I have a white 64g and a black 64g both AT&T ordered from Apple at around 3:30am on 9/14 (had to do 2 separate orders) with 9/21 delivery dates - travelling to Newark, NJ and the last update on both tracking numbers shows them departing 12:58am Anchorage.
I have locate my serial number as well as my tracking number on UPS. Unfortunately it doesn't state a time of delivery in Boise. Any need to be concerned? Additionally on UPS it showed 2 packages with the same tracking number and same weight. Thoughts?

weird...my phone has the same time and location but I have an updated post where it is now in Kentucky....
So, would you rather have someone moving all the phones or scanning them and processing them one at a time?
I often wonder if UPS/Fedex don't update scans just so they can come here and read all the panic-filled posts about phones sitting in a sort facility

Most don't have a specific time. You will have your phone sometime Friday.
There are scanning glitches in the system, sometimes packages are mixed some time duplicated. Sometimes the search adds items. Do the both have the same reference numbers? I think its just a quirk.
To all you people who are 'worried' or 'concerned'....
1. Being 'worried' or 'concerned' helps you how? Over a phone?
2. Everyone of you has a Deliver By date at Apple. What's that say? The 21st.
3. You will get your phone(s) on the 21st.
4. If there's a problem and you don't, you can't do anything about it.

Mine has said the same thing...I am starting to think that something is going to go wrong. Why no update???

Two possibilities:
1. actually arrived at Louisville KY but the pallet has not been scanned yet.
2. scanned but didn't leave AK on time. Possibly merged to next flight at AK and still en route.
I suppose mine is en-route heading to KY and your phone may be in this flight as well. Here is my tracking info:
