Iphone 5 Delivery Update!!

If your phone has been stuck in one location (most popular is in Kentucky) do not worry. Sources from UPS say that iPhones have continues to their destination and placed in staging areas for delivery preparations. UPS site will be updated soon. Apple has also confirmed all orders are in a prepared to ship status and should update sometime today. Cannot wait until Friday!

Since I needed my address changed, Apple put in a request and UPS accepted the request buttt now instead of Friday, I'll most likely receive it Monday. The lady said they won't know for sure until their tracking info from Louisville is updated.

Remember I said my local Apple store has a bunch of lightning-30pin adapters? I just called them and they're sold out. Every other Apple store/authorized retailer is also sold out.

I just ordered some cheap ones off of ebay. Since I'm waiting anyway, I might as well save money!

I think Apple is just protecting UPS's tracking servers at this point. Once Apple starts updating to "Shipped", I shall feel bad for UPS.

Take a look at the average holiday for ups. They see an upsurge of 10 million extra packages daily during this time.

Yep. The iPhone launch may be huge. But, for UPS it is a blip.

Mine says Delivers 9/21 by Standard Shipping.

I think the latest they could leave is sometime tomorrow morning. This way you an account for all transportation time, sorting time, etc. Leaving Thurs night would be a nightmare for many local hubs. They need to have everything unloaded, sorted, and on that UPS truck early in the morning. They also need to give the driver all the information as well.

I'm guessing we start seeing some moves tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

Why would it be a nightmare? That's howit works everyday...
The driver receives the delivery information via his DIAD(electronic board) its not like they have wait till the moment the truck is ready to leave to know the route.

That is not a status. It is suppose to say 'Shipped' after the 'preparing for shipment' status.

It may also be based upon type of delivery. My UPS tracking shows next day air as the method of shipment selected by the shipper (Apple). The definition of "Next Day Air" on the UPS web site specifies that the package will be delivered by 10:30, 12:00 or end of day, as selected. My tracking shows delivery by 12:00 (noon), as that is what was apparently selected at the time the shipping was initiated. Maybe this is meaningless; however, it clearly fits into the UPS definition for this type of delivery. It really does not matter to me, though, as long as it shows up on Friday which it is scheduled to do. I live in a fairly small town so I assume their deliveries there will be somewhat less hectic than in one of the large metropolitan areas.

You are right, the ups site says Express which would mean by 10:30 for most people but for some reason I doubt that is correct unless Apple actually sent some shipments this way. Makes me wonder! No matter what I'll be getting mine super early Friday. Can't wait!!!
