Question!

I don't wanna miss my package tomorrow and printed out the pre sign paper from apples sight for UPS. I have my Aunts upgrade (lives in different State) and apple says its "Shipping" to <Aunts name> but I changed the address to my house of course. My name is on the Billing side from Apple as I paid for it.

Do I sign my name on the paper? or Sign her's? I would hate to sign mine and then they no deliver

Sign your name but just make it a little sloppy? If I sign for someone else I use just do some loopy scribbles that sort of look like some letters and no one ever looks, honestly.

I've got one that says before 10:30am and one that says before end of business day...

Will UPS be smart enough to combine both into "before 10:30am" - that would be nice...

Does UPS usually start before 9? Mine just says "before 10:30", but I can't seem to find what time they start delivering. 7 AM? 8?

It varies. 8:40 is the earliest I'd expect any normal residential air by 10:30. But these are by end of day... I'd expect no earlier 10:00 if you dont have any air. But it all varies by building, route etc

My experience is that they will be on separate delivery trucks. Takes more time to try to consolidate than its worth, and time is money.

For all those "refreshing for updates on your delivery" that have already received a tracking number, why not just give them your cell phone number and have them text you whenever something changes?

I get refreshing the site, but on the same delivery information page you can add your SMS number and they'll text you updates...

Ex: Your package has left KY and is headed to XX.
Your package is out for delivery.

... Just saying.

If you have an air package he may. But if his truck is packed he may not be able to get to it yet, so they will come back. If you want it with your air. I'd be ready to open your door as soon as the driver starts walking to your door and ask nicely if they could get your delivery for later. If they have anytime to spare(they honestly might not due to the amount of air deliveries they may have) they probably will try to find it for you. Then come Christmas time you could get brownie points & thank them by leaving them a gift card :p when you have a Christmas time delivery or just a genuine thank you :p

Can anyone see a flight coming from Louisville to somewhere in Florida anytime soon? I'm on my iPhone and I'm not seeing any lol

I never bothered investing in technology that carried the proprietary 30 pin Apple adaptor. Why? Because they always wanted close to $100 for anything...

Any one else in the same boat?
Yes, I never locked myself into any expensive proprietary equipment. If I did buy one of the Apple oriented stereos, it would have to have AirPlay or BT capabilities so it wouldn't get obsolete too soon.

I just usually end up getting 3rd party cables. I am sure they will show up soon enough.

If I ship an overnight package from Florida to Denver, which I can until 8 pm EDT or so - how do you think it will manage to get to Denver by 10:30 AM MDT? It is not the only flight.

I'm not in packaging logistics, but my guess would be ground to nearest airport that has another flight towards Denver to meet that overnight shipment. However, I think Apple/UPS would want to put the phones on a planned flight to a local hub, rather than a fly by the pants, last minute adjustment for a late overnight request.

Im at the beggining of his route and he is fully aware of the i5s going out tomorrow. My delivery status on UPS My Choice says BY 10:30am.

Just curious, I ordered mine from apple.com and had it shipped to my school address where it will end up in our mailroom. Should I pre-sign for the delivery? Or will the mailroom attendants signature account for the required signature?

I got an email at 2:50AM this morning, saying that my iPhone has been shipped. At 10:33AM, my iPhone was import scanned in Louisville. ONE MORE DAY!

Package mapping says that it was location scanned at 10:37AM.

They just need a signature, so that if you say you didn't get it, they can say, no "so and so" signed for it.

The ups.com site says that, the packagemapping, com site shows that there was a location scan this morning. No arrival scan, but that indicates the phone is at Louisville and that perhaps ups.com is not reporting location scans.

Ok, thank you. Mine still says Friday, 09/21/2012, by 3:00 P.M.(by end of day for residential deliveries).

Both UPS and FedEx seem to come to my house around lunch time on a normal day, tho.

True for the most part. Not all trucks run the air for their own route. Some routes deliver air just on their own route, some have air from other routes also since not all trucks leave the building at the same time. So it depends and you really just have to know your UPS driver & if they deliver both your air and ground.

You may have to notify the mail room to authorize their signature. There should be a FAQ at your school, they all do it differently.

I'm also a college student and my iPhone will be going to our mailroom. I got my iPhone 4 shipped to my college and they just signed it for me and then when I went to pick it up they had me sign for it. So you don't have to pre-sign it. Whoever is there to take the shipments will just sign for it.

Unless its going to a commercial address, those of you believing you are getting your iPhone before 10:30 am might want to re-reaed the first post in this thread.

Mine has said "Deliver 9/21/12 by End of day" since Monday (that was when I first looked), now it is showing "Deliver 9/21/12 by 10:30 AM", why would it change now if that was incorrect?

Also, there is nothing in the first post about this that I noticed.

I already authorized shipment release through UPS My Choice. I'm guessing the email I got from Apple on both of my iPhone orders being shipped where it says "pre-sign" for this shipment is just sent to everyone who ordered the new iPhone.

Are you switching Carriers? or staying?

Here is another Poll. This time lets see how many iphone 5 users are switching carriers and from which carriers to which.

As in my last poll, it auto updates so you can save it in a tab and check the progress from time to time. Enjoy
