did you get an email about your card or anything? I know a few people entered wrong credit card details, which may end up screwing them.[/QUOTE]

Nope. I even checked my card and there is a charge pending for the iPhone

Same here. Sprint, 64 GB white, still processing. I'd love to see threads that divide not only who your provider was, but also how you ordered the phone. I went to the Sprint thread and it's all about those who ordered through the Sprint website. I think it would be great to easily compare statues with other people who ordered from the same location AND have the same cell provider.

True. Those that are prepared for shipping seem to be those with AT&T. I tried to order through the Sprint site, but it was jammed; Apple was easier. I'm guessing it'll update by Monday. If not, will call them...just in case.

Preordered my iPhone 5 (16GB, AT&T) just a few hours after the open. Shown as processing with date as October 5th. Hoping it's earlier... (most of my other recent pre-orders have arrived earlier than the site shows)

Got my CSS in the email from AT&T around 5:11pm today.

So I guess mine got scanned somewhere in Foxconn and is matched to my account now. :)

After an hour on the phone with Apple, a support rep contacted his supervisor and was able to get my new order to ship tomorrow, for delivery on the 21st. So if anyone else gets an email about an AT&T cancellation, call Apple and explain the situation ASAP.

Ljohnson72: GLAD you overcame this nasty curveball.

I tried the same as you suggested, but I suppose I'm not as persistent as you (and I didn't get a can-do agent). The Apple rep on the phone told me it would be absolutely impossible to resurrect my order - even when I explained to her that my AT&T account was deemed fine (and upgrade-eligible) by an AT&T agent on an earlier call. She told me that AT&T would just cause them to cancel it again if it were to be re-entered, and that I needed to make my order through AT&T if I still wanted an iPhone.

So I have an order in with AT&T for delivery sometime in October :-/

Does everyone getting CSS from AT&T??

I order from Apple as upgrade for AT&t. Everything is ordered fine. but i did not got any CSS from AT&T?

For you all with "processing items", your iPhone will be coming from Tennessee. If it is "preparing for shipment" then it's coming from overseas. I actually happen to live in Tennessee, too. :D but really, a forum user made a thread about it. Just though I would spread the word.

Forgot to add something. The above only applies if you went through apple (apple.com or apple store app)

I'd try calling again. It took me a few agents before anyone was willing to do anything about it. The agent I spoke with said it is a documented error and that they've been getting tons of calls about it.

Sometime today I got into the Preparing for Shipment phase...Ordered at 12:11PST, 64GB Black Sprint, going to Colorado, delivery 9/21. I think that Apple may deliver the preorders early, my iPad 4G was in the processing phase till about Tues before release and I imagine Apple is using the same distribution methods.

Can someone else that has some free time call apple and confirm this?

I guess they got disgusted and aren't posting. I should probably join them and not even look at these forums or anything else to do with the iPhone5 anymore. I just gotta say Apple handled this one very poorly since in previous years I never had a problem with ordering or pre-ordering and getting the product on launch day. They must really have had only a small amount of inventory compared to previous years since they ran out so fast when the ordering was taking place at the most disadvantageous hour. Had it been noon PDT they probably would have been out in 5 minutes.

Sorry about that. Most of the posts I've seen are people who ordered in 45 min of the initial open. I ordered at about 25 min in. You really had to be on the ball this time around. Like others are saying, you can still go and pick one up at the store.

Did you order through the site at Apple or Sprint?

My two black 32 gb iPhones on sprint just switched to prepared for shipping. The shipping method is holiday shipping. Apple's ego has got the best of them. They think the new iPhone release date is a holiday now.

Chat with ATT billing support department.

Michelle Krotky : Hello Mr.X , Thank you for completing the pre-chat survey. I see that you are chatting in because you have questions about upgrades. I can definitely assist you with that today.
X : good evening. I have upgraded my AT&T both phones to iphone 5 yesterday and i order it from Apple.com.
X : I am At&T customer from last 4 years and i want to know if you can remove the upgrade fees for my upgrade.
Michelle Krotky : I will definitely look into this for you. It will just take me a moment.
X : ok thank you
Michelle Krotky : Thank you for your patience.
Michelle Krotky : Upon reviewing the account I will remove the upgrade fee's however in the future they are valid charges.

X : Thank you for removing upgrade fees for now.
Michelle Krotky : Did you have any other questions I could assist you with today?
X : So in my next bill i will not see any upgrade fee right?
Michelle Krotky : That is correct.
X : Thank you very much for your help.
Michelle Krotky : You're very welcome.

so what is Holiday Shipping?

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Apple now has started a free express 3 day shipping upgrade promotion for the holidays and that is called holiday shipping... same thing as 3 day.
