Apple.com Preorder Status Thread (merged)

At 5:30 PM, I am anticipating the tracking to change from Out for Delivery to Exception: UPS driver too lazy to finish route. Rescheduled for Monday.......
 
I am now setting up the phone. Like other people have said, it really is a little shocking how thin and light it is. Yes, I knew about it, but to actually have it in my hand... wow! I did set up as a new device. The only problem, of course, is the activation, which I was expecting. I can't wait to get that email from AT&T saying it's activated!

I hope everyone who hasn't gotten theirs yet does very soon and those who have had problems get them solved very quickly.

So, for those who had activation issues, how long did it take to activate?

I left my iPhone 4 on while activating the iPhone 5. Went smooth as silk 🙂

I did nothing to my outgoing iPhone 4--in fact it was sitting right on my desk as I activated the iPhone 5, entered my cell phone number, and restored from the iPhone 4 backup in the cloud, all wirelessly. For a few minutes both phones were active, then the iPhone 4 displayed no service.

Not sure why you think you have to shut off and remove the sim card from the old phone. I didn't have to.
 
got mine! all set up.... i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!

still waiting on hubby's "preparing to ship" status to change to "shipped"

i forgot to turn my 4 off... but activation was fast and easy... activated without a hitch! WOOT!
 
The UPS driver mentioned that they are planning to open the local office Saturday to allow "stragglers" to pick up their phones. They are normally closed Saturday. He also said it was possible they may be making some Saturday deliveries.
 
I ordered the iPhone 5 last friday and my estimated delivery is Oct 5. Has anyone's order, that was placed around the same time, changed yet? Can't decide if I should just try at an Apple store and cancel my preorder.
 
Well this is weird... live in Studio City, CA and one of my phones came in this morning at 11 am and the other one is still out for delivery.

I ordered two 16 gb phones within an hour of pre-orders opening. An hour ago, both phones showed as "processing." 30 mins ago, the black one went to "preparing to ship." 2 mins ago, the white one did the same thing.
 
I preordered within 15 minutes after Apple Online Store opened up here at the West Coast. Wasn't able to get the first batch and the order page initially said October 5 as the target delivery date. Today I just checked again and it says shipped from China. Woo hoo!
 
I presigned and UPS delivered at 10:24am (Tucson time)... The only problem is I deliver freight and was sent down 2 Nogales today. I had a trusty friend go grab it off the porch and sneak it inside so at least it's waiting for me when I get home but DAAAMMNN today has felt like the LONGEST work day of my life!!!
 
Dallas, TX iPhone received via UPS?

Has anyone in Dallas, TX received their iPhone 5 yet?? I have yet to see a UPS truck in the area!😱
