Mine originated in Nashville (or that is where my UPS tracking info started). The shipping "guarantees" have changed from "by 10:00" to "between 12:45-2:45" and now "by end of day" --- whiiiiiich, just past. I chatted with UPS and was told that in order for them to hold it at the facility for me to pick up they have to make a first attempt at delivery. I asked if there was no attempt, then what?

guess I wouldve had better luck getting my new phone if I went at apple store and waited in line. freaking UPS taking the fun out of this event for me.
No, you are taking the fun out of this for you. You can't control UPS, but you can control you. I look forward to your post after you get into a fight with the UPS driver. Brilliant, just brilliant.
When the UPS driver pulled up in front of my house this morning at 9:20 am, he was on his cell phone. As he walked toward me he laughed as he handed me my iP5 and the signature device, "I was talking to my wife. I told her not to expect me until late tonight." and according to my package tracking, he was on the road before 6:00 am. He seemed genuinely happy to be delivering iP5s to people. Hopefully, he didn't encounter anyone like you.
I have gotten deliveries at 8pm but again it is subjective, you might be pissed and even I would be but I wouldn't yell.
I'm not gonna yell at him, but I'm not gonna be very pleased at the time when they finally arrive, either. Mild passivity?
Out for delivery by the end of the day. 5+ more hours
mine is still out for delivery from 902 am and in Hawaii.. no such luck

Took 12hr from the time my phone was loaded on truck for delivery unti it actually got to me. And although I work 12-16hr days regularly lately, I'm an office dweller and the heaviest thing I lift is my laptop. These guys were moving packages for 12hr straight before they got to my phone.
I just called UPS. I said it was weird because my UPS guy usually comes at 10am and he said all the routes were changed today.
finally activated!! after 4 hours of nothing i finally got through att and just gave them some info from my phone and im golden now on the hunt for a screen protector lol

It took me a total of 15 seconds for my iPhone to be activated. Super easy. What took the longest was restoring from a backup and getting all of my content loaded on it.
whoops... sorry to leave you all hanging... i finally got mine around 5:15 PM... he told me he still had 40 more to deliver. Got it activated really fast with Sprint and have had no problems so far!
You guys freaking out because your phones have not been delivered yet make me lol. Of course that is easy to say since mine got delivered at 1:00. Just take it easy on the UPS guys, they are doing the best that they can and busting their butts to manage the monumental task they were given.

Yes. My order status has now changed to "preparing for shipment". My guess it will go out Monday at the latest and I think I will get it next Wed or Thursday.
From past experience with Apple, they don't acknowledge they have shipped until a day or two after they have shipped, so it may be with UPS or FedEx already. At least I hope.
I think Oct 5 was a very conservative date.
