My iPhone 5, originally scheduled for Oct5 delivery and then updated to Sept28 delivery, actually delivered today, Sept26.

Now I just have to wait for my dad's firm to ship it to me.

So, it is out of the box and is finishing the iCloud restore from my iPhone 4 backup. I love the feel of it - it is definitely weird being as light as it is, but I like it.

And my finish is flawless... not a scratch anywhere on it (yet - lol). I got the black 64GB. Even just the initial setup of is amazingly fast compared to my 4.

Everyone waiting is going to be really happy when UPS shows up. :D

That is a good sign. My order showed "processing" for a couple days before about 12 hours of "preparing to ship". The actual phone didn't show up on my apple product list until I received the notice that it had shipped.

Depending on where in the world you are, I would guess you will have your phone by this time next week, at the outside.

How is this a good sign? Not to be a jerk, but isn't that what you would see if you ordered right now, Order processing?

Still have not received ANY kind of update - no status change on my account, no email update, nothing. October 9th delivery date...anyone else have a similar situation?

Mine just arrived by UPS too! The driver was pleasant and quite chatty. My image of UPS has been shattered! Nice!

Now to unbox this 64GB black sexy!

My wife's 32GB white is like that.. ordered like 4:30pm on the 14th. Just like mine I received today I noticed our checking account was charged the $99 AppleCare that we added the next day to hers. The exact same thing happened with mine.. saw the AppleCare charge to the account and then a day later mine shipped. I hope the same trend is afoot with my wife's.

Mine said either "order received" or "order confirmed" (can't remember which) for 5 days before "order processing" which was the status for 36 to 48 hours before it shipped.

Mine went from:

"We've received your order" to "Processing Items" within 10 minutes of actually ordering, it's been on "Processing Items" ever since (12 days).

I imagine it's going to be at least another week, I got an AT&T 16gb White iPhone 5.

I ordered around 8p ET/5p PT. I'm kind of curious who else got the same or similar phone and what time they pre-ordered to see how far down the queue Apple is in shipping them out.

Had a delivery date of 9/27 yesterday before bed. Woke up to no delivery date, having expected to wake up to a pleasant surprise that it was coming today. This is what I saw (and still see) instead:

Yeah, just because the $99 AppleCare purchase appears on your credit card, it doesn't mean it will ship soon. I've had that purchase posted on my card 4 days ago and the phone itself has yet to ship.

I think I could've gotten my iPhone quicker by going to China and searching for it myself in the warehouse! After ordering at 8am EST on Sept 14, I got the Oct. 5 delivery date. Now, it's tracking to currently be in Hong Kong and a delivery date of October 1 according to both UPS and Apple. I am leaving to go out of town for a week on Sept 30. I have called Apple and UPS to see what can be done or what are my options to get it on either the 28th or 29th (Saturday delivery). They both say NOTHING! I was hoping to be one the lucky ones that got a super early delivery date but it's not looking that way!!!

I can't believe some people that ordered later than me already have their phones!!!

I think that a lot of it has to do with what color and capacity you ordered.

I ordered a white 16gb AT&T model from apple.com on the evening of September 16th. 10 days later and it is still showing backordered 2-3 weeks ("Delivers Oct 10- Oct 16"). I was hoping it would show up early, but now I'm hoping that they work on the light leak issue before they manufacture mine.

Aside from that I am more than a little upset about the fact they are allowing people to make in-store reservations. Has anyone gotten the straight scoop on whether people with existing pre-orders can purchase an iPhone in store? It seems like I could cancel my "pre-order" once I have stock in hand so that I still receive the upgrade price.

I feel your pain. I've submitted two orders, 64GB black and white, at&t phones on separate days. The first one on Sept 13 (1900 PDT) and the second one Sep 22 (1300 PDT), respectively. Both orders have not seen any movement at all. I figure it's expected on the later order, but I was hoping something would happen on the first one.

I figure I'll just wait it out. On launch day, it did appear some apple stores had enough phones to sell, although they did not have the configuration I wanted. Perhaps next time I may just skip the preorder process entirely.

Ifiend, I feel your pain. I have 4 on order, the 64GB got thru, however the other 3, according to tracking info, departed ZhengZhou, China TWICE! Now they are sitting in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong for 36 hours and counting.

Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong 09/26/2012 10:30 A.M. Arrival Scan
ZhengZhou, China 09/26/2012 8:30 A.M. Departure Scan
09/26/2012 3:10 A.M. Package has shipped and the delivery is being scheduled; check for updates later. / Forwarded to the facility in the destination city.
09/26/2012 2:40 A.M. Package has shipped and the delivery is being scheduled; check for updates later.
ZhengZhou, China 09/25/2012 4:10 P.M. Departure Scan
ZhengZhou, China 09/23/2012 11:00 P.M. Origin Scan

I contacted UPS about this and here is the chat session:

Eleazer H.: I am checking your tracking information.

Larry: ok

Eleazer H.: I totally understand your concern, the thing is those package were shipped on the 23rd and it seems they are on its normal transit to be delivered on time, per Apple request those packages will be delivered on October 1st

Larry: So you are saying that Apple requested they not be delivered until 10/1/2012?

Eleazer H.: That's correct.

Larry: OK, thank you for checking.

Eleazer H.: You're welcome. Goodbye.

Eleazer H. has disconnected.

If UPS were to be true to their Delivery Commitment of four or five business days from Europe, Asia, and Latin America, these should be delivered Thursday or Friday. So why would Apple request the delay until October 1st??

Just to keep everyone informed of my experience...

I ordered my phone around 4:20 AM EST the day it went on sale. My confirmation said shipping in 2 weeks with an ETA of Oct. 5.

This past Saturday, when I woke up, I had an email saying that it shipped.
The tracking info had a series of Origin, Departure, Arrival scans all in Zheng Zhou, China and all within a couple hours of each other.

No tracking updates the rest of the weekend. When I woke up this morning, it had moved to South Korea. A little over an hour ago it arrived in Anchorage. Next stop Louisville. I live 2 hours north of Louisville.

Based on the fact that I order boatloads of stuff online, the majority of which goes thru the Louisville hub, I am probably expecting my delivery on Wednesday at this point. Tomorrow is not out of question, and would be a nice surprise, but I'm expecting Wednesday.

My whole point is that regardless of the timeframes and expected waits they initially provide you, the iPhones usually arrive ahead of that schedule. Same thing happened when I got an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3G.

Mine arrived yesterday (Wed.) as expected and 9 days ahead of when they originally told me (Oct. 5) when I ordered it.

Same thing with me - trail went cold in Korea. Supposed to be delivered today... we shall see. Apparently sometimes the scanning updates don't happen as reliably as they might.

I'm on the same boat except my trail went cold after the arrival in Korea. I don't even have a departure. There's no way UPS can ship the phone to me from Korea today.....haha

I don't know if it's on that flight that en route now - but the departure time is an hour earlier than the scan time, so possibly not.
