Mine arrived in Korea yesterday morning (our time) and hasn't moved since. They say it's going to be delivered tomorrow - can't see that happening if it's Korea right now...

Haha SAME situation with me too! Fortunately I have some tasks I can do remotely, so the timing couldn't have been more perfect. Now as long as UPS heeds the note on the garage door that indicates I am home, I should have my 5! The anticipation is killing me! Paranoid UPS will pull their typical lazy shizzat where they pre-fill out the "sorry we missed you" info notice that they slap on the garage door, rather than ascending the 14 steps to my front door to you know... KNOCK on the door\ring doorbell\get attention of recipient. Unfortunately I've caught them in the act of doing that and complained, but they still do it.

They often miss scans, I wouldn't worry.

I'm going ordering the iPhone 5 as soon as it becomes available in Ireland, this Friday.

If I order as soon as the Apple Online Store starts taking orders do you think I could have my phone the following Friday?

I've had the same happen to me in the past as well. It's like they just expect people to not be home, so rather than walking to the door and knocking/ringing the bell, they just slap a notice on and go about their way. Even the folks on the phone don't seem to care when you complain.

FedEx is infinitely better in this regard.

I'll definitely be listening for the driver today!

What are the chances that the phone is out for deliver and just completely missed scans from cities?

It has happened to me before. I have received shipments that stated the package was still in California (I'm on the east coast). It could very well show up at any time.

Of course, if you are really nervous, give them a call and they may be able to track it down.

Agree on FedEx.. wish more companies used them instead.

I keep looking outside\listening. I told the boss a half day at home, so they better hurry up and get over here. The truck has had it since 6am and it is 11am now. One time it said out for delivery and UPS failed to actually bring it the same day. Someone from the local UPS plant called at the end of the work day and apologized explaining the driver didn't make it. I could tear my hair out thinking this will happen again. *deep breath*.

I've ordered dozens of items from apple and others and the only time I've received something early is by the USPS. You may find your phone hanging out in Louisville for a couple days waiting for a flight.. or on the back of a cross country truck.

Then again you could be lucky. I would use the UPS scheduled delivery date if it is different than Apple's.

As I anticipated, my iPhone has arrived 2 days earlier than Apple reported at the time of shipment and 1 day earlier than the UPS expected delivery date.

I think the reason our experiences are so different is a matter of geography. I order a great deal of items shipped via UPS and enjoy early arrival 70 or 80% of the time. Same is true for FedEx shipping. Apple purchases have arrived early 100% of the time.

I live in Saint Louis MO, which is an easy 5 hour truck ride from the Louisville KY UPS hub (straight up I-64) and the Indy UPS hub (straight down I-70). The regional hub is in Earth City, MO which is about 15 miles from me and our delivery trucks operate from this location. So if any item makes it to Earth City even as late as 4AM or 5AM it will make it on the truck going out for delivery that morning.

In the case of my iPhone 5, it departed Anchorage Sept 24 at 2:28PM arriving in Louisville at 12:41AM Sept 25. Left Louisville on Sept 25 at 5:36PM EDT arriving in Earth City MO at 11:35PM CDT last night and "out for delivery" as of 4:30AM this morning.

When the iPhone arrived in Earth City, UPS officially changed their scheduled delivery date from Sept 27 to Sept 26.

So, my iPhone 5 promised to ship on Sept 28 for Oct 5 delivery, arrived 9 days early and all is right with the world.:D

I like the arriving early part, maybe there is hope for delivery times starting to drop for those of us that have additional upgrades coming up.

Man my dog is driving me nuts. He's randomly barking at NOTHING in the other room that faces the street (and I keep getting up to check). I keep checking disappointingly. Dang it! LOL

In Belgium you can "pre-order" for free -.-.
But when you're at the store on the launch date they don't guarantee you'll get one. If you don't "pre-order" you can't buy it at the store.

Very weird.

Last year I didn't get a single scan....until the phone was delivered to my door. So possible. ;)

I'm at work right now and been on the edge of my seat since I got in. We have a doorbell on if our receptionist is not at her station.

A few Fedex guys came, DHL, and Puro........close to having an anxiety attack...hahaha

Haha I think we both need some kind of help group or an intervention or something. LOL

Ordered the 14th at 8pm ET, still no status change from "Order Processing". No exact date was given, just: Ships in 2-3 weeks, delivery Oct 9-15th.

Probably because they have no iPhone currently to fill your order :p

I will likely sit at "Order Processing" until a few days before your expected delivery date when they actually ship it.

I didn't order mine until the 24th, so mine is going to be sitting at that stage for a while.

That is a good sign. My order showed "processing" for a couple days before about 12 hours of "preparing to ship". The actual phone didn't show up on my apple product list until I received the notice that it had shipped.

Depending on where in the world you are, I would guess you will have your phone by this time next week, at the outside.

It appears Apple is running about 6 to 7 days ahead of the ship dates predicted at the time of purchase for those who purchased on Sept 14th and 15th.

In reading this thread I also get the sense that delays vary based upon the specific phone ordered. I ordered a 64gb black ATT phone at 3:55AM CDT Sept 14 and I've seen people report ordering after me and getting their phone before me by a day or two.

Has anyone read any reports about delays as a result of the rioting at the Foxconn Taiyuan plant a couple days ago?

It seems that any hiccup in the production chain can throw a wrench in the works and change everything. For this reason, the ship date Apple provides at the time of purchase seems to be conservative.

Heads up guys.. if your package is on the way to or out of Louisville they are experiencing a delay right now due to a storm over the area. I just called 1-800-PICK-UPS and 'said track a package' and told the system my tracking # and then a recording came on indicating the delays due to stormy weather.

Just passing it on. Still waiting on the UPS truck driver
