went thought at 3:53 and i got an email saying 21st delivery
now i check status and it is saying oct 5!

Now how can I check UPS or Fed-ex.com by using my reference #?

A tracking number should appear once it has shipped.
It's most likely express shipping. Apple tells UPS or FedEx what date they need it delivered by and it's delivered then.
I just checked and mine has changed to "Preparing for Shipment" as well. 16GB White AT&T.
I haven't received the Apple Care+ email yet though. I hope I get it soon otherwise I'd have to make an appt. with the Genius Bar for them to inspect the phone and I'm sure the Apple Store will be a madhouse. It's going to be slammed until the end of the year, especially when they release the iPad mini next month.

Actually the tracking numbers will appear when the units are still at the factory line. So don't panic if there is no record when you first start to try tracking your iPhone 5.

My 16GB Black AT&T went into Prepared for Shipment. I also haven't gotten any additional emails from Apple or AT&T. I guess this means mine is coming from China. I remember with my new iPad order, it took forever to change from Processing and that was because it was coming from California to me in Oregon instead of coming from China.
i'm still processing, but they sure do have my money! black att 16

Was it "delivery on the 21st" or "shipping on the 21st", they went through that status stage before changing to shipping in two weeks.
