Something has got to be majorly messed up. I can't imagine how Apple sold out in half an hour, unless they only made a small amount.
The Apple servers keeled over for the iPad 3 preorder, but it still took a couple of days to sell out, if I remember correctly.
We have a similar situation. I ordered mine at 4:00am (EST), and i noticed that before i checked out it said "delivers by 9/21", but when i saw my confirmation email, it said "two weeks to ship" WTF!.
Hopefully this shipping process improves and might get the phone sooner.
Sorry to hear that you are in the same boat but glad I am not alone. Started wondering if I was so tired that I didn't realize that shipping had changed (even though I was almost positive I had) here's to hoping they get their stuff together.
I am checking my primary holder's email. this is only one on account.
I checked online under my profile on att account, it shows updated contract end date in 09.14.2014 and when i download CSS from their it is still OLD CSS. not the new one.
my both orders are in preparing to ship now.. so i think it will be fine if i don't get CSS email..
But i did not get the apple care email Too..

FINALLY!!! I guess they are finally getting around to the 16gb iPhone 5's because finally mine has changed to "Preparing for Shipment"!!
Now how can I check UPS or Fed-ex.com by using my reference #?

i ordered within 30 seconds of the iphone app going live and mine is still processing with the same date.... my ANZ credit card has not yet been charged either, not even a pre authorisation that i can see.

Don't stress. In Aus. Based on the previous iPad and iPhone launch there will be no movement on ours until mid week. The American ones normally go out first and sit in the local delivery depots. Our go out later and then go straight through non stop, generally arriving in the local TNT depot morning of launch (in Perth normally arrive at 330am launch day then straight on trucks for delivery)
With the last iPad launch they shipped them to Sydney then split the preorders there, so no1 got tracking info until the day b4 the launch, yet it was still deliveried launch day.
Iphone 5 release day is now considered a national holiday.

There have been leaks for months and they are launching in so many countries in the next few weeks. I'm willing to bet they produced millions, got to think it might have sold out so quick because people who didn't upgrade from the 3GS and 4 are now upgrading.
The 3 day period is indeed correct. But we were specifically told not to promise 21 st delivery. I wouldn't panic too much depending on where you live

When do the Apple Care+ & CSS emails go out? after it goes into "preparing for shipment status?" I wonder if that's when the phones serial #, etc is tagged in their systems.
I used the ANZ debit card and i can see the difference of 899 in Available funds. According to this map below i should get it on 21st itself.
But yes mine too is still processing !

I ordered a Black 64GB Verizon at 12:06 am MST. Same thing "processing items" and "holiday shipping"... Transaction is also Pending...
hmmm. ordered att 16gb via their reservation system and still shows as being processed. no hold or charge on my cc either. if they were to have issues with my att upgrade would they contact me or show it as canceled? i just dont want it stuck on being processed if its really not. that happened when i tried to preorder my 4s.
The worst part about holiday shipping is they don't tell you which holiday.
Clearly it's the iPhone Release Day Holiday.
