Apple.com Preorder Status Thread (merged)

According to my iPhone it is a 38 day drive to the UPS Express location in Zhengzhou China, and I have to first go to Hawaii before driving east to get there.
 
Someone make me feel better and tell me they ordered right when preorders started, but still can not view their tracking info by searching by reference... .
 
Updated first post with directions on looking up serial number and production details.

Because I was doing it wrong, clarification on the Web order tracking trick that finally worked for me. Use the first 8 digits without the 'W'. So ########. Yes might have been obvious to some, but not me :)

Update:
Never mind. Doing that brought up a whole different shipment :/

Especially with UPS (and not just iPhone or iPad preorders) UPS in my area at least, delivers nothing earlier than scheduled delivery date even when the status shows it's been at the local location that is the final stop for loading on the truck for delivery more than a full day before the scheduled delivery date. Some may get theirs Thurs but I bet not. They'll deliver Friday for most assuming this preorder is like the prior three I've participated in. But it's fun to wish for early arrival. Just don't expect it.
 
Reference Number

just finally got the reference number to work, however it only shows one package even though I ordered two. It is coming from Illinois by UPS

Did you use your order number without the "w"?

I think this is another shipment.. I haven't heard of any coming from Addison.

I did this at first as well by accident.. I used my order# without the "w" and got one that said delivered.. I about checked my porch :)

Use your phone number.. try all the phone numbers on your account, including your home phone number.
 
For the people still processing, are you switching carriers?

I am switching to Verizon and having my number ported. Still processing....

/impatiently waits to see progress on my phone. :)

Flying out of town early Saturday morning so I tried to get UPS to hold it for pickup. Sure, no problem, it'll be available to pick up Monday Sept 24. No way! Then I asked whether I can pick it up the same day I get the first delivery notice, rep said she couldn't guarantee that. UPS site says it's supposed to deliver by 10:30am but I doubt you can trust that so I guess I'll have to take more time off from work to wait for it or presign, I assume Apple will give that usual option.
 
Sorry for the noob question but of I used another lines upgrade to order this phone do I have to activate this phone on that line?? I have Verizon, used my dads # on the apple site cause he had an upgrade

I've been using everything.. nothing shows up with the other iPhone, but the billing number worked for that package

I got my order in three minutes after the preorder started. I still cannot view any kind of shipping information, but am not worried because it says I will still receive it on September 21.
