Apple.com Preorder Status Thread (merged)

I think we all need to calm down a bit.. do you really need to see your phone shipped from China to the US? I too am in the same boat.. ordered 12:15am, preparing to ship, holiday shipping for 9/21, no tracking info.. My guess is that ours are already in the US so they won't need to be shipped until Tuesday or Wednesday. If it states delievery for 9/21, you'll be just fine
 
Mine is on its way currently have a tracking number and its on a plane from Korea to Alaska now.. will be here Friday!

Tell someone with no shelter, food, or clothing about how you are getting your new iPhone the same day as all the rest of the early orderers, and see how many tears you get.

Thanks.I heard that also.This store in only receiving 12 phones and there are still a few not spoken for.I live in an area of retirees:eek:,myself included,so that's a reason there isn't a rush.Same for the other stores I called.

Careful - I've heard RadioShack tends to overstate the number they'll have on release and people who think they have preordered are still empty handed while waiting on a new shipment. I hope it works out for you but it's something to look into for anyone else reading.

Haha, thanks! Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it. Last week when I got on here, it had been awhile since I last posted here, so I had no idea what my log in info was. I was glad I made my user name what it is.

I don't mean to be rude and tell you what to do with your time and energy, but you realized coming into an Apple Preorder Forum that you'd find posts of this nature - you lose the right to act surprised and self-righteous at that point. This isn't a forum about donating food to the needy and some douche canoe is whining about their iPhone.

With that being said it is a serious First World Problem, but instead of being rude about it feel grateful that we are in a position to have such trivial and trite problems. Like you implied, life could be way worse.

Mine still says 9/21 but it's still preparing for shipment.

Standard shipping method from china to the east side of USA in 4 days seems pretty silly.

Your phone was made early August and was shipped to the states weeks ago. Its just lounging in a Tenn or Il coffee shop, just waiting and relaxing for the notice from Apple to go do its job for you. :) Since there no need to ship it all the way from China, there is no rush to put it in the system and get lost within UPS.. .

They did not get the one I wanted in and of course said they would let me know when it was available however I ended up having to go to another city to get one on launch day...my local BB called me 6 weeks later.

- Find your confirmation email from apple when you placed your order
- Look at the "BILL TO" section of that email
- Find the first phone number listed in the BILL TO section of your email
- That is your REF number (it may be a cell number, home phone, etc... It's from your AppleID profile)


- Go to UPS.com
- click TRACK
- click "track by reference number" below the standard tracking text box
- enter your phone number from above as your reference number



If that doesnt work, just be patient. They sold 2 Million iphones the first 24 hrs and this info has only started populating over the weekend.

Cool, I did as you stated. Mine is coming from Addison, Illinois for delivery on Friday 9/21 !
 
That was the impression I got also when I loooked at the screen in store.She knew exactly how many phones were available and showed me.

The one thing radioshack has going is that nobody shops there anymore and when you tell people they sell phones they have no idea. They have had inventory the past few iphone launches because of this.

Ordered 3 about 15-30 minutes after launch. They are in Addison, IL.

For those that ordered multiple phones from Apple.com, are you seeing an individual tracking # for each phone? I put in the phone # of one of the phones in UPS but it's only giving me 2 tracking #'s. I tried the other 2 phone numbers and nothing. Maybe 2 are in the same box?
 
Apples (pun intended) and oranges.BB is not Radio Shack.As posted earlier,they actually show how many phones are available to order (12) and how many are remaining to sell.I saw their screen.If I wasn't convinced,I would not have cancelled both my orders for Oct 5 delivery.
Sorry you had a bad situation at BB but at least you got your phone..

I learned my lesson last year with Best Buy. I went in on the pre-order day and I was the 13th in line. I purchased my card to 'hold' the phone and was super amped. Went on my merry way. On the day of release Best Buy had ZERO phones delivered to them. I spent an hour or so checking the stock of all of the stores in the surrounding states and nada. Best Buy totally jacked up so many people, and so many people were so very angry. I returned my gift card and stood in line for an hour at the local Apple store (on the day of release). Left with my iPhone 4s - not the color I wanted, but the phone I wanted :cool: That was the most important thing, right? (I later learned it was WEEKS until BB received any stock for the iPhone 4s)

I will never trust another store outside of Apple for the release of a new product that has the potential for backorder. They might not have 'enough' supply to last thru the initial hour, but there is some kind of recourse when things do go awry. Plus you don't go thru the spiraling chain of command with Apple. The buck stops, and starts, with them.

All in all I'm happy thus far. I'll be even happier on Friday

Well my American Express card just changed from pending to full on charge so I guess it's a go!
