Mine just now popped up on ups website, apple still says its preparing for shipment. I also ordered mine the minute apple site opened for preorders. It's coming, no worries.

Honestly, I don't think anybody NEEDS to see all of this.. However, it is part of the fun... It's like Christmas for all of us that are getting one on the 21st. Mine is showing up on the apple support page.. NO UPS info yet.. however, I live in Nashville, so I am assuming I wont see any info on UPS until Tues or Wed...

Still nada for me. My wife, which i ordered literally 2 minutes after mine has UPS data with phone number. At least we will have 1! LoL

Yeah, I live in Knoxville so I probably won't be seeing anything until then either. I'm only about 2 hour and 50 minutes away.

Good question!
IT doesn't say anything about a signature requirement on the UPS web site for my tracking number so I dunno.
Apple has always required one in the past but that was through FedEX so...?

Yes, I spoke to an apple customer serv rep via phone as I will be at work day of delivery. She said I can click the pre-sign option. I still don't see it, but she assured me it will show up on their site when it shows as "shipped" on their end, but if not to call them directly at 1-800-676-2775.

Ok reading through the responses the voices in my head are whiny sad people. Anyone else reading them that way also? You will get your phone on the 21st, stop being so damn sad people!

Most likely yes but you can create a UPS account and waive your signature rights. You will be screwed if someone steals it on your doorstep though. Having an account is free and emails you when shipments are in their system and on their way to you. I think it's called mychoice

Not necessarily the case. I received my confirmation email from Apple at 3:14 Eastern Time. My phone didn't even show up in the Apple Support Profile until around 2:30PM today. Mine still doesn't show in UPS and mine was made in week 35(September). So surely mine wasn't made this month and already shipped and waiting in the states.

It is reported that FoxConn has a capacity of 150,000 units/day. There is speculation that production began in July or early August. Let's assume it started in mid-July.

July - 2,550,000
August - 4,650,000
September - 1,950,000
Total = 9,150,000

By end of business today, FoxConn would have produced 600,000 units since Friday.

Apple claims sales of 2 million units in first 24 hours. We have no idea how many units were allotted to carriers, retailers, and Apple brick and mortar stores. Also, keep in mind that the iPhone 5 was launched in 9 countries.


Apple - 383 retail stores.
Best Buy ~1,500 stores
Target 1,700 stores
Wal-Mart 4,700 stores (United States)

Now add retail stores and carriers in the other 8 launch countries.

Damn...got my confirmation at 2:17am (CST) and mine still says "preparing for shipment". :(

I'm sure it'll work out, but I'm anxious.

It's tough. But mine is listed as Holiday Shipping so it probably is already in the US and won't go out until last minute. But we'll probably get it Friday!

My order still says 'Processing' and the one I bought my wife says 'Preparing Shipment'

Both still have 9/21 as the delivery date, and nothing on UPS site.

Not worried, but I would have liked to have them on the 21st.
 
That is so weird my origin scan is from Addison, IL, too. How come its origin scan is not China?

I am so bummed I didn't get to track on Flightware...

Well it's here in the states set for delivery on friday :)

With analyst estimates being around 8M phones for the first weekend that puts a huge crunch on supply. The more popular configs will sell out extremely fast which is prob why some people who ordered really early won't be getting their iPhone on launch day.

I dunno maybe all the stateside phones got together and refused to be owned by you, and so one of the new guys get the short straw... :)
 
Can anyone help me out? I ordered 2 16 gb's. Both have the same phone number listed. One is in processing still, and one is in preparing for shipment. When I go on UPS and use my phone number as the reference, I get only ONE tracking number. The package weighs 2 lbs. The only reference number working for me is my phone number. My order number is not working for either iPhone. Is it possible that they both are in one package weighing 2 lbs? Or is it more likely that one hasnt shipped yet? And if this is the case, is there anyone else who is still in processing, with no tracking number? Both are supposed to be delivered the 21st.

they're probably packaged together
