Agreed. It seems to be more of a reoccurring theme every year that Apple is expected to debut hardware during this conference, when that's really the last thing it's supposed to be about. I think services and OS demos are the primary, next to the developers themselves. Although, I could care less about Tidal.

If apple provided HD audio, or spotify, id be with them. :)

Live blogs were useful back when Apple events were not streamed. That was years ago.
No one wants to hear from the guy sitting in the audience obsessively clutching his phone.
Put the technology to good use & forget about all live blogging.

in the year 2017, live streaming should not be news. I can live stream myself from my phone in few seconds.

Well, it's still an option as to whether or not someone does it, and that decision is news on some level.

Hope to see some hints at the 2017 iPhone models being dropped at WWDC, especially on the software side.

The most I see coming out of this Conference will be possibly the Siri speaker and updated specifications for the MacBooks. The iPad doesn't seem logical at this point and again, the developer conference has exponentially grown these last five years and it's primarily been strictly about the developers.
Yeah, I'm not sure I buy that the new iPad Pros will be released during WWDC either, but who knows, Apple has been a little less predicable the last couple years.

Last year it was heavily rumored/speculated the second version of the Apple Watch was going to launch during WWDC and it never did. It's definitely unpredictable.

Anyone has any comments on this tagline?

"Technology alone is not enough.
Technology must intersect with the liberal arts and the humanities, to create new ideas and experiences that push society forward. This summer we bring together thousands of brilliant minds representing many diverse perspectives, passions, and talents to help us change the world."

Usually these taglines are previews of what will be presented iOS-wise.

Honestly the keynotes are boring. All I care about are the products.

Talk about history.... Talk about sales... Video of new store... Brings random person on stage... Yap yap... Repeat... Products.
You forgot when they talk about health and science. Boring like I am in the classroom again dozing of at my desk.

Do you think these will get any real stage time if they are only processor upgrades? I can see them just doing a press release for the Macbooks and keeping the keynote focused on the software.

It depends if there is anything significant. There were rumours of a new higher end 15" MBP. They might just whistle stop through updates, which would earn them good PR if they go right for the jugular: lowering the prices and increasing the RAM limit.

Enough gimmicks like Continuity, APFS, Swift, 3D Touch. These are not innovations. APFS is literally useless as is 3D Touch, which is king of useless. We need real innovation like a dynamic Home screen with live widgets. A weather widget is vital. If a forecast is updated I need to be alerted IMMEDIATELY. Way more important than APFS or more dynamic iMessage. Fact is, iOS is BORING. It needs more fun.

I would love something like this:

iOS looks boring with its horrible Fisher-Price icons. I wish Apple would focus more on SOFTWARE for productivity. Their first-party apps are so boring and lacking. Apple insists on cluttering up the Home screen with rows and rows of icons that are literally useless: Reminders, Wallet, iBooks, News, Podcasts, TV, Activity, Health, Home, iCloud Drive, FaceTime, Voice Memos, Compass, Stocks, iMovie, GarageBand, Music Memos, Clips, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iTunes U, Trailers, Stocks, Friend my Friends, Find my iPhone, Tips. All garbage. We need REAL apps, Apple. REAL. APPS.

Ah, yes, and I see how the image you've shown us is a vastly different paradigm in design, looking not AT ALL childish and cartoonish. It would have been ironic if your comparison image had looked like some DVD cover art from "TellyTubbies" eh?

I don't think it is necessary to add an emoji to signify my sarcasm.

PS: What ON EARTH is "Apus"? :D

Innovation isn't 3D touch. It isn't stickers and stupid effects in iMessage. Open up the NFC chip, open up Siri to devs beyond the simple stupid thing they do now, open up the Phone app more. Add features to block calls from ANY number not listed in contacts. Add features to record phone calls. Make the home screen chicklet dynamic. Add built in OAuth providers beyond just Twitter and Facebook. Create a Firebase-like service for developers to quickly host data, trigger events, and create JSON APIs.

Add Augmented Reality.

anyhow, i hope apple puts some better people on stage then last years crap!
I agree! Being a woman myself I'm all for giving women a chance but OMG .... the women they put on stage are unwatchable. I have to mute now when they come on. There's the one who mentions one of the Cali sports teams .. just something to make it look like she is "one of the guys". It's just an embarrassment to see.

Yeah, but when you live stream, it doesn't generate thousands of page views for MacRumors.com.

This site worships the Almighty Page View. Sorry to say this, but unless you are a p*rn star, you are not going to generate as many page views as the notion of Phil Schiller walking on stage in front of a bunch of developers.

What does that have to do with anything?

Just responding to the previous poster's comment.

Here on the Intarwebs, sometimes people comment on things other people have said/written. It actually happens a bit more frequently than you seem to acknowledge.

As in implying that posting information is just about page views?
