Surprised face -> :O

Please PLEASE let's have some innovation. Stuff like a faster version of Safari and Siri being able to tell you when your period will start are NOT worthy of a major version update.....

Enough gimmicks like Continuity, APFS, Swift, 3D Touch. These are not innovations. APFS is literally useless as is 3D Touch, which is king of useless. We need real innovation like a dynamic Home screen with live widgets. A weather widget is vital. If a forecast is updated I need to be alerted IMMEDIATELY. Way more important than APFS or more dynamic iMessage. Fact is, iOS is BORING. It needs more fun.

I would love something like this:

iOS looks boring with its horrible Fisher-Price icons. I wish Apple would focus more on SOFTWARE for productivity. Their first-party apps are so boring and lacking. Apple insists on cluttering up the Home screen with rows and rows of icons that are literally useless: Reminders, Wallet, iBooks, News, Podcasts, TV, Activity, Health, Home, iCloud Drive, FaceTime, Voice Memos, Compass, Stocks, iMovie, GarageBand, Music Memos, Clips, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iTunes U, Trailers, Stocks, Friend my Friends, Find my iPhone, Tips. All garbage. We need REAL apps, Apple. REAL. APPS.

Erm, APFS made my iPhone much faster, and I know other people will agree, it's one of the better new "things" in iOS.

Won't be watching live this year... Getting married on June 3rd so the keynote will be part of my in-flight entertainment on the 6th when I'm en route to honeymoon.

My bet is spec bumped MacBook Pros and retina MacBooks.
Do you think these will get any real stage time if they are only processor upgrades? I can see them just doing a press release for the Macbooks and keeping the keynote focused on the software.

No chance then of a REAL computer for my desktop???

Who knows? I hope they refresh their whole desktop line as well. As I've said in other threads, I wouldn't mind something like Microsoft's Surface Studio to replace the iMac. Have both touch & keyboard/mouse inputs so you're not stuck with just one that you don't like. Ditch HDDs/Fusion Drives and go straight NVMe SSDs. Desktop grade CPU & GPU with adequate cooling. No more mobile stuff.

With the Mac Pro, go back to a modular design with easily upgradeable CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, with a few extra PCIe slots. Something like Power Mac 9500s & 9600s. Those had 12 RAM slots & 6 PCI slots. Maybe have the capability to have 2+ CPUs & 2+ double-width GPUs. Make it a true "Pro" machine. Very doubtful, but again, a guy ca dream.

With the Mac Mini, not too sure. Like the iMac, ditch the HDD/Fusion drive and just go with NVMe SSDs & desktop-grade CPU/GPU. I kinda liked the Power Mac G4 design, but obvious have a better price/performance ratio.

Maybe for the Siri Speaker, if it has a touch screen, maybe do a rehash of the 20th Anniversary Mac. Instead of the CD drive on front, maybe have one big, vertical screen?

I hope WWDC shows us something great this year. I also hope Tim Cook has learned some presentation skills as well. He lacks charisma, pizzazz, and a selling attitude for such things. His stuff just seems so rehearsed and bereft of passion.

My hopes for WWDS: iOS, of course, seeing the APFS becoming standard for MacOS in next iteration, and an iMac with the option to upgrade both RAM and drive.

I find 3D touch very useful. Even more so with iOS 10. I didn't actually realize how much I was using it daily until I tried using an iPhone SE and realized how many things I do on a daily basis that don't work without 3D touch. Also, in my mind under the hood changes like APFS and Swift are the opposite of a gimmick, but that's just my opinion...

was there doubt that it would be live streamed? I guess I just always assumed it would be since it has been for years now. Not exactly news.

I wonder if every WWDC attendee will get a free Siri speaker? Would make sense to make development more widespread.

Apple doesn't usually give away things for free. That said, I think if A smart speaker would be in the hands of anyone, it should be in the developers first. They're the ones that will be able to expand and allow for development/growth. That's kind of the whole point of the conference, it's about the developers more than it is hardware.

Me either

Can't wait to see more of these :apple::);):(:confused::cool::p:D:eek::oops::rolleyes:o_O

But Bigger and Better. The best Apple Engineers have ever done.

With the rumored touch bar on the iPhone 8 it will be interesting to see if Apple gives any insight as to how that will work. If developers will have an opportunity to have contextual buttons in that area I would hope Apple would be telling them about it so the apps will be ready with the new phone's release. It would also be an ideal opportunity for a refresh of iOS to include a revised interface (widgets and/or active icons) and possibly better multi-tasking across apps on the phone.

Huh , the whole phone is a touch bar, has been since the first one.

 could easily improve 1st part apps to be very much more powerful. Then what would 3rd party App creators say !!

The home screen IS needing a change, but  has been successful because it takes away the choices, and many many people find it better. (eg: they know a new better model won't come out as soon as they purchase) or ( They can use the new OS for a year and get comfortable).
