It’s called my opinion am i not allowed one? The show was good at the start then just got boring it’s all the same and he is a bit annoying sorry if that isn’t what you wanna hear
Do you know the old adage about opinions?

That’s a silly distinction. Pretty much all shows are about people. Even in a Pixar show like “Cars”, the cars are really people who happen to look like cars.

It’s a show a football team.

It’s supposed to be a situation comedy, but there’s more “situation” than comedy. You can wait many minutes for the next joke to drop. There are more f-bombs than one liners, unless you think hearing a football player using the f-word for the 100th time is funny. And many of the jokes that do come are in poor taste. “Oh, look, the football players killed a dog. Ha, ha, ha!”

It’s not any worse than a lot of other stuff on television, but not any better, either. Not what I what I hoped Apple would do with its money.
Silly distinction? That seems silly to me.

Opinions about the show are welcome, yours is valid too, it's fine if you don't enjoy it. You even give some reason why here.

However, it's very popular and a lot of people are looking forward to the next season, so I'm confused as to why it "needs to end"?

Season 1 was great, but season 2 drove out any sense of tension or confrontation to the point that it was like an endless scroll session of Upworthy. I wish someone told me not to watch the second as the memory of s1 was completely overshadowed. Will be frugal with time and skip s3

Well, it is widely considered to be one of the best things to hit a television screen in many years. I think the reason why is because it isn’t just a show about people, it’s a show about people who are aren’t horrible to each other for dramatic or comedic effect. A good example is the deaths of that dog in the first episode of the second season. That wasn’t about the dog, it was about how it effected the player who killed it and how he was able to deal with it and grow. It’s a positive show instead of a negative one like so much crap on tv lately.

Characters deliberately undermine one another, lie, cheat, divorce… seems pretty horrible to me.

That sounds like the Millennial philosophy.

“Too bad the dog died, but hey, I was able to deal with it and grow.”

But how is that funny? It’s supposed to be a comedy. Or so they claim.

"How is this a Millennial philosophy?" Seems like the personal assumption

People just think too much about any given issue, in a good view or bad. Knowledge is power when it's about understanding and learning.
But humanity is what separates us from lower life forms.

Did I mention anything other than it revolves around football, no. I responded to a comment saying the show is about people, not football. While there are people acting in the show, the shows premise revolves around football, period.
Except again, it’s not ACTUALLY ABOUT FOOTBALL. You could slot in literally ANY other sport and it would work. You don’t have to know or understand one iota about football. So as the original commenter said it’s about people not football. Just like Romeo and Juliet is about feuding families and young stupid love not about Italy.

It actually revolves around football though, like I've said. You can put whatever you'd like in all caps that I've never actually said, but that doesn't change my posts. Re-read them if need be. However, I can see that you like to be argumentative, so I will bid you adieu.

So, it’s not about sportsball, but it’s about sportsball?

Just like Star Trek isn’t about outer space, it’s about people in outer space. Gunsmoke isn’t about the Old West, it’s about people in the Old West. Columbo isn’t about murders, it’s about people who commit murders.

You can say that about any TV show.

If you don’t think Ted Lasso was created for football fans, ask ESPN. That’s where Ted Lasso first aired, before Apple picked it up. It was created as a promotional tie-in with their British football broadcasts.

I could give you plenty of examples of why it’s different, and how those who act badly are the antagonists and even they show growth and become protagonists, but I don’t want to just argue and try to convince you the show is good. I get it, you don’t like it. You don’t have to watch it. Most people though know that it is one of the best things on tv and enjoy its more positive theme… and even it’s comedy. You do you, we’ll do us.

Agree what's the point of excessive profanity. Like on Murders in the Building, I stopped watching because she swore so much. At least Steve and Martin did it for reasons other than to say it.

I agree. Swearing just for the sake of swearing isn't funny in my opinion, and I was in the Army so I am well-versed in swearing.

All that psychobabble misses the point. “Ted Lasso” is promoted as a *comedy*, not a psychodrama.

Look at the great comedians — the Marx Bros, Jack Benny, Abbott and Costello, Burns and Allen, Bugs Bunny. People don’t watch their shows to see antagonists “show growth” and become protagonists. They watch them to laugh.

It’s not psychobabble, it’s writer-babble. Character growth is what writers usually strive to put in character driven stories. And those who typically use the word psycobabble, typically dismiss mental health as less than a necessary part of overall health. Also, it is a comedy. It’s a funny show. It isn’t stupid canned laughter sit-com comedy, it’s better than that. That’s one of the reasons it won all the awards and has all its critical acclaim. But, just like everything on tv, it’s never going to appeal to everyone. No show is going to do that. This one appeals to many, many people because, again, it’s about people being nicer to others and inspiring others to be nice as well. All while being funny. Once again, it’s a comedy with character growth instead of manufactured drama or people being horrible for comedy’s sake. Anyway, sorry you don’t like it. Maybe there is some other show you might like and can watch that instead. Me, I’ll be looking forward to this and more shows like it in the future. And since it’s so very popular, I hope there will be many, many more like it.
