Much like Comrade Trudeau, who assures his followers that he does admonish China's leadership over human rights abuses, but only in private, never in public. Cuba is also sacred and worshipped ground for our lover of basic dictatorships.
I agree.
Turdeau is another leftist phony.

Jesus, Tim! Don't you have anything else to do all day? From a company that works its people to death with long hours and crazy deadlines...I can see why he is making a point of this. American workers won't work as slaves....but that's what Apple likes. So they hire in people on visas because they will work and work and work and think "how lucky am I". Same for opening up R&D centers in India. Those poor guys will work as much as asked. Perfect for Apple.

Tim Cook, exploiting foreign workers. That is what this is about.

Yes, it allowed the federal government to detain and hold Americans without trial or charges. ACA also forced millions of Americans into a healthcare system they wanted no part of and made a ton of people switch doctors.
There is a difference between potentially affecting, than actually affecting. And I don't believe Obamacare was so bad that some Apple employees was unable to fulfill their day to day work.

So when trump enacts a law that stops immigration from a select few nations temporarily, that could "potentially" affect employees, it's a bigger deal than when Obama does it? Which Apple employees can't immigrate here?

Thank you President Trump for keeping us safe.

Ironic, since the consensus among security folks is that the current president's actions have already made us less safe. He's done nothing but serve as a recruiting poster for the groups he claims he's trying to "defend" us from. Either he's completely ignorant or he's actively trying to tear down the USA. More likely both.

I hope there is an upsurge in the number of companies extolling their American workforce and supply chain. It will sure help decision-making at checkout.

Either he's completely ignorant or he's actively trying to tear down the USA. More likely both.

C'mon... this is just sophomoric. Try harder.

In Tim Cook's letter he states this:
"There are employees at Apple who are directly affected by yesterday's immigration order. Our HR, Legal and Security teams are in contact with them, and Apple will do everything we can to support them."

Blah blah blah... Better start making iPhones in the USA or get ready to lose a good chuck of revenue by having to pay more $$$$$$. Gotta loce these silly CEO's who thinks they are some MLK or something...

That's not a number or even a reference of who is affected or how. I see the point you are making and I don't disagree necessarily.

Immigrant background using H1-B visas instead of Americans. F off Tim. How much cash now? $240 billion? Even more laughable is arguing temporary minor inconveniences to "hundreds" of employees comes before the safety of a country.

Newsflash: You're no safer today than you were 2 weeks ago.

Plus what did you expect? Think about where you work. What do you think your bosses would do if the government threatened their labor force? Suck it up because it's a government order? Or would they pick it apart, determine it's worth (zero) and fight it?

Seriously, I believe critical thinking has gone by the wayside.

Great work, Trump. Completely unnecessary drama and a huge waste of political capital spent for a vulgar (and let's he honest, racist) ego trip geared toward coddling a chunk of the country who wants a racially pure fake utopia that never actually existed.

It is great work. Thank you President Trump for making us a safer country, and showing Apple's true colors by causing Tim Cook to come out crying. They should have been hiring Americans in the US all along. My loyalty to Apple is growing very dim :(.

Edit: I could care less about Apple's employment situation. Hire Americans and avoid this issue.

That's the real issue here: citizens that have no clue about what vetting procedures are used or how long it actually takes refugees or immigrants to be accepted into the United States.

I care about quality more than speed. You sound like a Project Manager. Lets get it out the door fast...quality be Darned. I don't care if it takes years if it makes us safer. Improving our vetting process is just common sense.

Tim...**** off. It's sounds like you advocate terrorism. You won't succeed.

You are a terrorist....consumer terrorist.

It sure the hell is - Apple is the slave labor King. They couldnt care less about this affecting people. They just have to suck the shareholder knob and keep those insane profits coming in. Anyone thinking this move is some heart-felt thing is an idiot.

It is true that I don't have number or names, as I don't work for Apple HR (or Apple at all). And I don't think anyone working there would or should provide them, at least not the names. But the quote should be enough to show that there are employees directly affected. I have little reason to think Tim Cook would lie about that, especially being such a big profile case and probably many who would want to check it.

By your comments, you know little to nothing about Quebec and it's people. Educate yourself on the many levels of intolerance that occur daily, in that province ... read about the ongoings of the language police and Bill 62.

This kid wasn't a messenger for Trump as you so boldly portend, but rather a lone wolf dealing with his own demons in society. So, until this case really unfolds, and it's highly doubtful we'll ever know the full extent of this kid's emotions, best you just shut it.
yup lone wolf.

Just do your job and make Macs. Geez.

Tim's job is to do more than just "make Macs". He also is an EMPLOYER, if you didn't know that, and needs to look at out in the best interest of his business AND his employees. From a business standpoint, fighting the order makes perfect logic sense to the continued success of Apple, considering they are an international company.

I wish some of you on here would just think things through with a little more depth sometimes.

He probably isn't lying. I wish he was as Apple should be hiring Americans, and this should be a non issue for them.

Then why not extend it to all people and make it a five years process. Then all Americans are guaranteed job as vetters. Maybe even the vetting if they one who should vet should be through a mandatory vetting, preferably at least five years as well. Quality is everything right?
