I was hoping all these latest UPS flights from Alaska to Kentucky were carrying the 42 MM SGS watches, but I have yet to see anybody get confirmation of their shipment coming out of Kentucky. Weren't there so many UPS flights apparently going there? I know when my iPhone 6 Plus shipped to me it was out of Louisville, Ketucky the night before release.
80% plus of the watches will come thru Louisville. It's the main UPS hub. They will be sorted tonight and sent out on planes I the early morning hours. UPS does this every night for next day air volume. It doesn't sound right but even volume going from Houston to Dallas overnight flies into Louisville first. Planes come down between around 11pm and 2:30am and volume flies thru all the belts and scanners to the next plane load area. The planes then leave from 2:30a til about 5:30a. Some cities have multiple flights. It then arrives in that city and gets sorted to the delivery trucks to be delivered. Logistics!
I ordered two watches a few minutes after the preorder opening. Yesterday, the status of my wife's watch finally changed to PREPARING FOR SHIPMENT while I received the afore referenced notification on the second one which remains in PROCESSING status. I feel better nowImage
Apple appears to have sent the email to customers with Apple Watch pre-orders that have yet to be prepared for shipment ahead of Friday's launch.
UK orders now despatching. Delivery for 24/4. I have a 38mm ordered at 8:01 and a 42mm ordered at 8:11. Both out for delivery tomorrow. They seem to be working hard to get these out to people.
Order placed 12:08am PST, SS 42mm w/ white sport band. "Preparing for Shipment" since 4/20. No email.
Those people who purchased a watch and immediately sold it on eBay based on the confirmation email must be sweating. Maybe this is Apple's way of ****** with them and we are just collateral damage
Of course the eBay prices for those who waited to sell when the watch actually came might see more profit. BTW, I'm keeping mine.
Did anybody else order a 42 SS Milanese band that received this email? I see a lot of talk about 42 SS with Black Sports Bands still processing...
That is not the point. People who got a 4/24-5/8 window should expect their delivery, it is those that got a 4-6 week window and some a June delivery will get their watch sooner. If Apple were transparent about it in stead of being ambiguous, people would most likely not be upset.Honestly i cant see how anyone can be annoyed at this email. Any way you look at it, it's a positive. They are either letting you know in advance that you wont be getting yours on the 24th but you will get it in the window that they committed to all along.
Alternatively, they are just reiterating that deliveries are going ahead as scheduled and there is no delay in getting you watch in the above mentioned window.
Lose the sense of self entitlement people, they haven't done anything wrong here.
i'm in London and mine's stuck still on preparing for shipment for my SS BSB 38mm, the other (a Sport SG 38mm) hasn't moved from processing.
Which models are yours that are shipping? And do you know when your status changed, roughly? Mine was mid afternoon yesterday. Cheers!
