I wonder if they sent this e-mail to everyone within the time frame 4/24 - 5/8.. if not, this e-mail isn't good..

I have two watch orders, one sport white is shipped, got tracking number email, the other pink sport is still processing, got this junk email means nothing. Pink ordered 3:04ET, white a minute later. All 4/24-5/8. So I guess it's not good.

I just got this email in the UK. My 42 SS with classic buckle is coming tomorrow.

Well that is an unfortunate email. Just so those that ordered 42mm SS Black Sports Band, I got my order in and confirmed by 3:01 AM EST and it wasn't until about 7 PM last night (4/22/15) that I was finally charged and order moved to preparing for shipment. I wouldn't lose hope yet, every preorder launch I've done I got the tracking number the day it was to be delivered and often haven't been charged until the night before. Here's to hoping!!! Good luck!

3:09am order. EST. SO nine minutes after launch.

Stainless steel watch with black sports band.

Still nothing at all.

I have sat in line for every iDevice launch since the 3G - feeling kind of salty at my inability to have this at launch.

I am feeling the same. Mine still says available to deliver may 14 - 28. Folks with later dates are already turning claiming that they are getting upgraded statuses. I sort of get that it all depends on the watch and band combination, but I am very unhappy about this rollout. Really the question is who will Tim sacrifice for this hot mess of a rollout.

People are pissed because Apple stated preorder April 10 with launch date of April 24. Some of us had to stay up till 3am to order within minutes of launch hoping that's a guaranteed April 24th launch date watch. Instead after ordering we get the April 24 to may 8 ship date.

I bet everyone's been thinking "naw no way it won't arrive on the 24th, the date range is worst case scenario".

Well worst case scenario just happened for a lot of people. So I'm not going to challenge that and definitely understand why they're upset. These are the people that would have definitely lined up for hours, but now not gonna happen. And definitely no weekend of playing with a new device.

I got the note, disappointed but happy they at least acknowledged my order exists! I got 42mm sport space grey. Seems to be a pattern here.

No email received. No status change on either my 38mm SG sport with black band (ordered at 3am) with a May 13-27 date range

Also no change on my 42mm SG sport with black band ordered the 10th at noon.

So much for waking up at 3am EST. :(

This is what they meant to say "please stop calling us to ask about your watch. The truth is, if you ordered a space grey sport, you're screwed for launch day. Thanks!"

Good communication would have been to say exactly what you just said in the email. This canned email is like something from another era.

Honestly i cant see how anyone can be annoyed at this email. Any way you look at it, it's a positive. They are either letting you know in advance that you wont be getting yours on the 24th but you will get it in the window that they committed to all along.

Alternatively, they are just reiterating that deliveries are going ahead as scheduled and there is no delay in getting you watch in the above mentioned window.

Lose the sense of self entitlement people, they haven't done anything wrong here.

I think it's evident from the forums here that people were expecting delivery on launch day, as seems to have been the case for prior launches. Regardless of the long 2-week delivery window Apple quoted in the store, the issue is not whether they are literally respecting the quoted delivery window, but whether they are meeting customer expectations, and it's on that second front where many of us feel let down.

Perhaps Apple should have been more explicit in explaining what these launch windows meant, for example, "Most customers will not be receiving their product at the earliest date in the launch window; we expect the majority of customers will receive product by the middle of the window, and almost all customers by the end of the window."

My two cents'.

80% plus of the watches will come thru Louisville. It's the main UPS hub. They will be sorted tonight and sent out on planes I the early morning hours. UPS does this every night for next day air volume. It doesn't sound right but even volume going from Houston to Dallas overnight flies into Louisville first. Planes come down between around 11pm and 2:30am and volume flies thru all the belts and scanners to the next plane load area. The planes then leave from 2:30a til about 5:30a. Some cities have multiple flights. It then arrives in that city and gets sorted to the delivery trucks to be delivered. Logistics!

I live in Louisville and I got one of those emails... My order is still in processing and I ordered at 3:03 am on the 10th if you are getting a 42mm SS BSB I would not expect but I wish you luck. :)

Ordered the SS with black sport band at 12:04 am PDT. Have had the infernal "processing item" status and the delivery window of 4/24 - 5/8 ever since. Received the email which tells me absolutely nothing new about an hour ago.

My issue is that at this point, it would be better have been told something/anything new. Shrink the delivery window to anything less than two weeks, maybe?

Apple's notorious secrecy is not the strategy for them to be deploying right now. I find it hard to believe they actually don't know anything more specific, at this point, less than 48 hours before launch. So, they are just being opaque.

Agreed. Sending out an email like that today is useless, they would have been better to be blunt and say "the watch you ordered likely won't be available for shipping for at least another xx days, although we do still expect you will receive it by May 8."

We should all flood Tim Cook's email and Twitter feed with complaints. Maybe it will prompt a better response than this awful email they sent out.

Thought I would wade in, ordered my APPLE WATCH with black sports band on 10/04/15 at 08:08 , got the dreaded "we are not promising anything" email.

Still sat on processing, has anyone had "the email" and since had a shipping notification

I'm in the UK if it makes a difference

(Why do I do this to myself, every Apple product launch lol)

Ordered my Apple sport Watch 42mm with white sports band on the day about 25 mins after its launch in the UK, got a 4 to 6 week delivery notification (12th to 26th) May I think it was.

Just got confirmation about an hour ago that is has been dispatched for delivery tomorrow. Of course very happy seeing as I thought I was going to have to wait several weeks :)

I wonder: if Apple had said online orders and try-ons start on the 10th and left it at that would some people be so upset? I know hindsight is 20/20 but had they done that and never mentioned the 24th or called anything a "pre-order" my guess is people would be freaking out less.

Still, I'm with John Gruber: people need to take a deep breath, have a drink and relax. No one that ordered had a specific 4/24 ship date so no one should be popping a vein because their's might not come until closer to 5/8. It's not like anyone's life is severely impacted if they don't have their Watch on the 24th.

I think Apple probably didn't just come right out and say the watch won't be available for xx number of days, because a lot of people would just cancel their order and wait. Instead of wondering when they would randomly charge their card.

Australia is shipping!!!

I live in Melbourne and just checked the status (again) and it has switched from preparing for shipment to shipped on my son's 38mm Sport with the blue band. TNT (local shipping company) says it will arrive on the 24th! It's origin showed as Sydney. I still have not received an email but I am sure it is minutes away. My confirmation email for this watch was 3:07 (AU time).

My 42mm SS with the black sports band still is listed as processing. Confirmation for this order was 3:08. It has the 12/05/2015 - 25/05/2015 shipping window, so I will have to hold tight it looks like (or steal my son's!)

And right there that's the bit that really p****s off, of course I'm happy your getting your watch but how can a later order be shipped when apple stated they will be shipped in time order.

Good news for you matey but Apple are really not playing this well, why don't they just be honest and confirm that they obviously have production issues with the black sports band or the 42mm face, maybe they should offer a change of band colour, I'll take it lol

Not fair

This is not good man,

My cousin just got an email that his watch is the way, that it is shipping. My problem is, just be straight up and say what's really going on. There is obviously some issue with the SS black sport band watches. Just tell us, is that too hard?

Not that we are feeling "entitled" or anything, just don't make statements that ships are arriving early, and they are NOT across the board. It is misleading.

Wait hold up! I'm a "Californian" and I ordered the SS with a black band...

Clearly you shouldn't speak about what Californians like or don't like since you aren't from here lol!

Btw -- just a note to let you know that some of recent histories biggest trends started in California #!

Just look at those OP shorts you've got on. We were wearing those 30 years ago bahahahahaha!!!

Huh. I haven't worn a pair of OP shorts in 30 years :). Back when I lived in California.

Hi Rogifan I've seen quite a few of your posts and it seems that the impatience of us hardcore Apple fans is frustrating you, you do realise your on a thread for us moaners don't you. Why not just let us moan and apply yourself in a topic that you may be a bit passionate about, then you can become frustrated with someone arguing back when they have no reason to

:)
