Is it possible they screwed up the order numbers?

I ordered the SS 42 mm with classic buckle at 3:05 EST and got the same 4/24-5/8 date as everyone and that has not changed. But the 38 mm Sport I ordered at 6:30 EST that same day, 3.5 hours later, said June ship date and now it's arriving tomorrow. What I noticed today was that the order number for the SS was significantly higher than the order # for the sport that's coming. I thus assume that the first few digits of the order number represents model and band info but is it possible that the order # assignments got screwed up which is wreaking havoc on who gets the watches first?

I paid with a MC/Debit from Suntrust on the Apple online Store...
Wonder if this is why i have not received anything yet?
I did have a weird $74.00 charge from Apple last week, that was pending on my checking account, then went away....
Apple order page doesn't say anything about cancelled or on hold or anything.:(

Did you order applecare+ with it? I've got three holds for amounts that would equal AppleCare with tax.

I do not want to get everyone's hopes up. However, my order for the iPhone 6 showed "processing" the day before I was suppose to receive it (launch day). I woke up in the morning to find that the status changed to shipped and it was delivered on launch day. I am in California.

I am hoping this happens again. I also ordered 42 SS with BSB.

hope you're right, man. I have the same order. (made at 03:15EST on 10 april)

My girlfriend who ordered the 38MM SS with BSB at 12:04AM on 4/10 will have hers delivered tomorrow. I on the other hand, who ordered a 42MM SS with BSB at 12:05AM am still waiting for my payment to go through.

Could be a possible answer...

I have an alternative theory. We have all been assuming that the schizophrenic way the “shipping” status emails are begin handed out is Apples fault but what if it’s UPS? The order shipping process has to following the steps below.

1. Apple gives watch to UPS who starts to physically deliver it.
2. UPS generates a tracking number and gives it to Apple.
3. Apple receives the tracking number and sends the shipping email. Note that Apple can’t send the shipping email until after it gets a tracking number from UPS.

What if there is a big delay at step 2? If you were a manager at Apple watching the process and saw the big delay at step 2 what could you do about the problem? You can’t send shipping emails without a tracking number but you know that some of the watches are in-fact being shipped because you gave them to UPS and watched the truck drive away. In that situation all you can do is send a vague “we are working on it email”. I sure hope my theory is correct because it would mean that people who got the “we are working on it email” might get a pleasant surprise when UPS finally sends the tracking number to Apple. This theory is quite plausible given that a number of people have received shipping emails after getting the dreaded “we are working on it email”.

P.S. I finally got my tracking number at 2:00am last night!

That would make sense, if it weren't for the fact that there are still many who haven't even had their cards charged such as myself.

Another thought to add to the Mix

To sum up. I ordered the SS 42mm BSB on opening day at 2:05. I like myself also got the EOD and thought YES! until I saw this thread.

While some of the earlier posts made me even more mad than I already am, here is a little info I found out.

Being I live in Middle Tn, there is a distribution center within a hour from me. As of 11:33 central time there has not been any changes. But what are the odds that those that haven't been processed actually live close to a distribution center like myself.

Only time will tell!! Hope my theory is right!!!

To be fair, I had a similar thing happen with he iPhone 6 as well. Wife said "shipped" a week before launch. Mine didn't change until the last minute.

For some reason though, something about this seems different (maybe it's the fact that we all got this mysterious email).

At this point, I'm guessing it's incredibly unlikely we get our products.

We'll still get them, just not tomorrow. And depending on the email confirmation time, it very well might not be until close to the 8th. Apple does have some time now that "launch day" is multiple weeks.

We're all clearly Apple converts and loyal customers - and in fairness I'm not that bothered if I get the Watch today, next week or by 8th May. What I am VERY annoyed about and more incensed after just coming off the phone to Apple Customer Support is that they have the standard script which provides zero additional data to what is available on their website. If this is Apple's position, like many inferior brands, then frankly fire the customer call centre team, reinvest the cash into supply and logistics and get more products out more quickly! I had to correct the operator several times today when he kept saying your watch will be delivered between 24/4 to 8/5 because clearly it ISN'T coming today, unlike my wife watch which is and they were placed at 08:02 on the 10th April 2015!

Apple - your customers are some of the most loyal and sophisticated in the world, we like transparency and honesty. We're NOT pathetic luvvies from the fashion world Angela, so please don't start treating us like them!!

Very true, they didn't provide me with anything that I didn't already know

7 am day off. And my card still hasn't been charged. Ridiculous. I get it, for whatever reason I didn't win the lotto and won't be getting my watch today. But I do expect SOME movement today. If I'm still processing tonight......So help me god.

Yes i did order Apple Care+ plus but thats only 69.00 even if NC charges tax it should have been 75.24....
Plus I ordered 2 watches each one with Apple Care+ so it should have been 138.00 or 150.48 with tax.
This is frustrating and had I noticed a June shipping estimate before purchasing I would have passed it by this year...
I did add my order to the Google Docs spreadsheet floating around and noticed that none who ordered the SB SS 42mm will get their watches today. That tells me they didn't have any units available for purchase on Day 1 if the spreadsheet represents orders on the whole. Granted only 1 Aussie and 1 Canadian added their info to the list...

I just cancelled my order (ordered SG SB at :04 with 4/24 DD). I'm not that bothered about the watch itself, I just feel let down by Apple for not setting better expectations when the supply constraints would have been clear from the beginning. I'm a fan of Apple and I will happily wait, but not when there's a lack of transparency.

People say we are whining, but I'm a paying customer at the end of the day...does that not mean anything anymore? Should we just abandon levels of service because we have a keen interest in a product?

Hopefully someone's place in the queue will be bumped up instead.

Spoke to a Apple rep just now, she said that as my watch is still showing "processing" don't expect it before MAY!!

Very well put.

Wow. That's ridiculous, I talked to a rep yesterday that said if I didn't get it today it would most likely be tomorrow, or Monday. He said there will be deliveries everyday next week. And that people with the 2 week window should receive devices closer to the beginning of the window. I don't even know what to expect anymore, as long as I don't see one in the wild today, I should be fine.

Yet more contradictory information

She said that other than being "approved" by paypal there was no movement on my order which meant it was still a long way away from being delivered (and I ordered within the first 5 minuets and had a 24/4-8/5 window) .

I don't know what to believe anymore, the entire handling of this shambolic launch has massively dented my enthusiasm for the watch and Apple.

I`m so on the fence to cancel my order ! I dont like this at all. There was a reason why I woke up at 2:45am EST. I do this for all the launches that I want to have on day one. Apple kept saying April 24th launch day and April 10th pre-order. I dont know why people call it whining, just venting our disappointment and lack of respect from apple is not whining ! My still processing no charge on CC nothing.......

I ordered the 42mm SS with black sport band at 3:04 ET 4/10 and I haven't seen any change, nor received the email of death. Wth, Apple? A company that prides itself on superior supply chain management, customer service, and customer satisfaction is failing all three pillars.

If you really want a kick in the teeth.
I ordered mine at 12:04 42MM stainless with classic buckle. My buddy forgot to order and got up about 5am and ordered his. He ordered the exact same watch I did, his is in the ready to ship state, even though it says May for delivery, and mine isn't. I got the email last night also, and he didn't.
So I don't know what is going on, but I feel they have REALLY dropped the ball on this one. All sorts of people all over TV have them, celebrities have them. And yet I sit and wait because I pre-ordered like they told me to.

I ordered the exact same model and am in the same boat! That is a joke, a total joke, nothing Apple has done on this launch has been consistent wtf

I also spoke to Apple CS, and was told this is normal, since we were told 4/24-5/8 they are still on track and I should not worry or complain. She told me I was very lucky to have that date and there is nothing else, they can or will do.
Any one here got a shipment of 42mm SS with BSB ?

I'm 42mm Space Grey Sport BSB, and am in the exact same boat as you. I even asked if changing my order to a silver model with a blue band would make a different and was told it would be faster to wait the Black one out.

I would have thought website order look-up would have been sufficient.

Unless the status is wrong ... (which is not unusual either)

Exactly! I know exactly how you feel...I made an official complaint and asked that the information be forwarded through the ranks so that future launches are handled a little better.

Well at least I hope the people who have managed to get their watches are having fun.
