I think I may put that on my License plate now...."PROCSING" It's available here in NY as a vanity plate...lol

11th hour - I'm cancelling my 3 watches

Seeing how all this is going and I just decided to cancel all three of my orders. I do think this is a disaster and was very easily avoidable... My only option is to cancel to send a message to Apple... I know it mean little in the big picture but no big loss at this point I've gone this far in my life without it, what's another two years. I'll wait for the next version.

So preemptive your welcomes to the three lucky folks that are going to get my devices earlier then they were.

Sport 42mm SG with black band
SS 42mm with black sport band
SS 42mm with classic band

Im thinking about doing the same thing. The communication between Apple and its customers has been appalling. I received the email last night thinking it was my shipment confirmation, only to find out they were "working on my order" and that the my 4/24 - 5/8 date range is still the same. I have taken part in nearly all of Apple products launches since the original iPhone and this is by far the most pathetic one. Definitely won't be taking part in the next.

Thank you, I need a few more of you to cancel your SG 42mm black band so I will get mine sooner.

I don't think this is funny, everyone is being let down by apple and these guys are making a stand, whilst I myself do not have that bravery, I take my hat off to you

You too.

Were you satisfied with his reponse. Also which watch did you order in where in NYC are you.

Midtown Manhattan here, 42 Space Grey Sport confirmation at 3:03 am. Stuck in processing

No comfort in his message of email at all... just him reading from the script. I assume it was written by the same person(s) who crafted the EOD email.

Anyway I'm in York, PA just south of Harrisburg about 20-30 min from the Apple DC. Same on the confirmation and I was hoping my 42 SS BSB was coming from there this morning but along with my wife's 38 sport; however, no such luck...

Good luck to you and hope you get yours soon!

Honestly I think we're putting really high expectations on :apple:, which is fine because they ask for it, but. From the time of ordering it, they gave a two week window. So even though I'm really disappointed mine won't be arriving tomorrow, nobody ever said it would. I just assumed somehow they'd find a way to make it work--and they have for a lot of people.

I think the EOD was a misstep on their part, because it's so vague and confusing that it's really only made me feel worse. More specific, direct communication would have been good because right now the only people buying the Apple Watch are die-hard Apple fans, and this process is testing that allegiance a little bit.

But when I force myself to step back a bit--in a couple weeks everyone will have their watches and we'll be used to them and it'll all be no big deal. So everything will be fine.

All that being said—I want it now!

T - 3 min Until the First UPS Plane Lands

T - 3 min Until the First UPS Plane Lands... here's hoping that a 42 SS BSB is in this round of flights...

I completely agree where all the understanding leaves me is, people receiving exactly the same order who ordered later than me, that sole fact I can't forgive or understand, it makes a mockery of the preorder system. As I said in my previous posts, Apple have screwed up so many launches, you would like to think they would get just one right (or close to right)

How do you know this?? I really wonder if my 42 SS classic buckle is on the plane!!

(Also - I chatted with an Apple Specialist earlier today who said that every delivery will be overnight - not ground - so that's nice.)

FlightAware... Someone updated from iPhone with UPS but it works now for Apple Watch... Good Luck to You!

I completely agree with that sentiment. It seems really unfair. But I'm trying to approach it with an attitude of: "if this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, my life is pretty good."

But it does make a mockery of the pre-order system. And it seems like there have been time after time of them releasing a product with not nearly enough supply to meet demand. Which is probably good press in some ways, so people can say "wow they completely sold out in under six hours!" But that doesn't mean much if they don't have a lot of product to sell out.

I hope they learn from this and figure out a way to make it smoother. Because I think it's all about expectations. I assume that because I ordered before others, I would get my watch before others. If they said up front that it was going to be partially random who gets it when, then at least I wouldn't be expecting otherwise.

I got the EOD, 38mm space grey, confirmation email at 3:04 EST. in Brooklyn NY still waiting in processing. Have not been charged or anything. Anyone in NY get a shipping email ?

Lawsuit

I wonder if legally they needed to send the EOD last night to cover themselves legally somehow. The best thing to have done was to say, "Sorry, you're product will not arrive on 4/24. We now estimate it will arrive between 4/28 and 5/4" or something like that.

That is basically all I want, some clarity. If I'm not getting one tomorrow, let me know so I can stop obsessing over my email/bank account/ order status

The Dreaded Letter

I too received the dreaded letter but am now listed as preparing to ship. There's hope yet...Right?

42 MM SS
12:06 CST
Shipping to Chicago

There is hope!

I ordered 42mm SS with Milanese at 2:05 CDT and got 4/24-5/8
I made a separate order for 42mm Sport with Green sport band at 2:05 CDT and got 4/24-5/8.

The sport watch changed to shipped yesterday, and last night I got the "don't worry" email from apple regarding the stainless steel with milanese loop. Just an hour ago, the stainless steel changed to preparing for shipping, and just a few moments ago changed to shipped.
The sport will arrive tomorrow 4/24. The stainless steel has a tracking number and UPS has already picked it up, but no delivery date estimate. It is shipping next day air so I figure worst case is Saturday.

I'm happy people are getting theirs, but it's only raising my hopes, which I feel is only going to make me that much more let down.

I've got a 38mm Aluminum BSB that is in processing for a family member and my watch order is a Stainless Steel Space Black Link watch.

Based on what I've seen, I don't think a single Link watch is shipping and I don't think they were ever going to be available for launch. The opening ship date for them was 5/13 from the moment the store opened...which means (since the hardware, case, and band designs were finalized 6 months ago) they must have thought absolutely no one would buy a link band watch because they had 6 months to make bands and didn't make any. Sure the "we're going to start building when we know what demand will be" so we aren't making a lot of a certain band makes sense...but to not make a single one is ridiculous. Steel isn't perishable and they've made some allusions to the fact that existing bands will likely work with a hardware revision so why wouldn't you go ahead and start production months ago?

Given the fact that they are bragging about some 5/13-5/27 orders going out now, it would be nice to get a "Here's the watches that will not be shipping early and here's the bands that we expected to ship for Friday delivery but can't due to shortages" instead of vague and, frankly, insulting emails.
