Please Apple... DO NOT ANNOUNCE 10.11. NO ONE WANTS A NEW OS EVERY YEAR. FOCUS ON STABILITY AND RELEASE 10.10.5, not 10.11. It takes more than one year to properly develop a desktop OS!

I totally agree! I don't want new features, unless the old ones are 100% reliable and actually do work. Continuity+Handoff, and Airdrop bother me every day! Also Airplay is unreliable in meetings: connection suddenly drops and videos streamed from a Mac never play as smooth as from an iPad!

We already know the new OS X will focus on stability and under-the-hood improvements. Whether they number it 10.10.5 or 10.11 or 10.69, the name and number is totally irrelevant. Either way it's still going to be the same OS as last year, just updated and optimized. It's not like they start from scratch every year, they build upon the existing system. You guys are getting way too hung up on the name and number.

That's a lot of squares with rounded corners.

That's what I'm seeing too! AppleTV or new Mac Mini or new Airport Express? WTH?! Maybe Apple deliberately put out the "no Apple TV" rumour, but then they unveil it at the end "Uh there is one more thing..."

Yep, all this talk about homekit, it bro the center, the quote saying the epicenter of change, it just seems unlikely all this points to nothing. Their marketing for these events always have deeper meaning, like the scretvhed app icons when they came out with the iPhone 5

When does Apple not use squares with rounded corners?

I'm waiting for someone on here to measure the the ratios of the ATV and the squares in the WWDC logo to see if there is a connection. You know all their marketing stuff has deeper meaning than just being squares. Also, in that WWDC the squares are almost obscured, like the top purple square looks shorter on the top and left sides. The squares in this WWDC seem to mimic the ATV.

It only mimics TV because people are desperate for a new one to be announced at WWDC. So of course the graphic has to be an TV. I swear Apple's marketing department must laugh themselves silly at all this analysis of their graphics.

Then why do they add deeper meaning to the marketing material? For example, how bout the logo that had the Apps stretched out in the background that was eluding to the increase in the height dimension of the iPhone 5? They do this all the time and I think this is where they have fun, adding deeper meaning to their marketing material, not laugh at those who think there is one.

What they both look like to me are the shape of an iOS icon.
Yeah, I'm starting to see that. For some reason the first few glances the banner at the moscone center looks different from the one on the Apple website. I think all this Apple TV talk has driven me to see something that's not there. lol.

Totally agree. The squares look like Apple TVs to me, the circles being watches. And we know the Apple TV will eventually be the hub of your smart house. And the watch is going to pair very well with the TV. You'll have your house on your arm.

I venture to guess that even thought the TV won't be released, releasing a SDK and just talking about the TV will warrant the use of the graphic, even if it was previously intended for loftier goals.

I think I have it solved, HomeKit will be part of devices that can be a central hub to control things AT HOME, Where does everything begin? AT HOME, the epicenter is where it all begins, AT HOME, so could it be that home is a hint at perhaps OS X Cupertino, Apple's home is Cupertino after all? I don't know maybe... Call me nuts if you want but I literally had two dreams already where the name of OS X 10.11 will be OS X Big Sur ☕️ Just incase.

"Apple Continues Decorating Moscone West for WWDC Ahead of Monday's Keynote"

The equivalent of "putting lipstick on a pig" if Apple doesn't introduce any new interesting hardware, in my opinion....

Here is what I want to hear from Tim at the keynote (not that it will all happen) -

  1. We are swimming in money, so free lightning cables for everyone
  2. We bought Microsoft, windows is dead but we will integrate word in to pages
  3. Apple TV - the new gaming console. And it will do 1080p video conferencing too
  4. OSX - we think we figured out this wifi thing
  5. iOS - in search of a name and multi window capability.
  6. Watch - failure to launch part duex - let's add more countries.
  7. Apple pay - all banks support it (US only) no merchant accepts it. So we are going over sees.
  8. uSB-C - now with thunderbolts.
