the springboard is a bit laggy most of the times. It takes a moment for the app icons to show. Hopefully it will be fixed as well.

This wifi bug is so strange to me because I have the issue on my work’s iPhone 14 and I had it on my 15 Pro which I sold, but not on my 17. And it has been a problem for about a year. Constantly disconnecting while wifi assist is off…

I would agree, my 16 pro (and now my air) would do quick disconnect and reconnects to car play. I get a prompt on my in car display each time it reconnects to suggest using CarPlay. Its been there before iOS26 came out

This better fix the Messages bug. I had an iPhone 16 Pro Max, used the iCloud backup (that has always included Messages and I've never had an issue before) on my new 17 Pro Max, and none of my Messages are showing. But my storage shows Messages taking up 8gb of space SMH. Very frustrating.

I don’t have any of the issues that’s re in the article. Though the ones I do have is some slowdown in the UI and a bug where if I’m watching a YouTube video, it will freeze if I pull down notifications then swipe it back up. Only have like a half second. But it is annoying

Is anybody else facing a buggy and unstable Face ID when unlocking the phone?
I have an iPhone 17 pro max, and it’s a 50/50 chance if Face ID will unlock my phone. It often requires me to enter my passcode.
Face ID is rock solid and working in every app where I have it activated, it only affects the Unloxk phone feature. I’ve tried resetting my Face ID, restarting and every other good advice, but about 50% of the times it simply will not unlock my phone. Given that it works for Apple Pay and other apps, I assume it’s a bug in the software and not a hardware issue.
Me too, iPhone 15 Pro Max

... Could they at least implement a status bar somewhere in the settings app showing the progress of the “indexing” and an estimate of when it will be complete? Would this be hard to do? It’s really annoying having my phone so hot and stressing me out! Some people on here say “give it a week”. Some day “mine is fine”.

Mine is fine 😁

I wonder if a lot of the indexing is due to AI (which I have turned off at the moment) and analysing photos.

As I only have 5GB of iCloud storage, I tend to export my photos to my Mac and then delete them from the phone, so there aren't many on there. With my new phone (base 17) I'm also enabling the 48MP mode (HEIC) so that's another reason I have to keep the number of photos on iCloud low!

I wish apple would clarify exactly how long this is going to last?

It's not possible, as one of the many factors is the content of your phone. For example, I recall an occasion where one iOS update trawled through my photo collection and assigned pets' names to pictures where it could. It took a number of days before things settled down.

[Edit]
NB, I agree, it would be useful to have in indication of background processing following an update. There's plenty of spare space on Settings > General > Software Update. It might not align with Apple's design philosophy of keeping things out of the way of the user, but I expect most users would appreciate something like this. For a long time, Apple tried to hide the notion of a filing system from users, but they changed that approach eventually.

Will that have an option to remove the annoying, uneven, ugly thin lines around buttons and smaller rounded corners on the app windows - simple option

I’m really hoping for a fix to the HomeKit location automation issues that have been plaguing many of us since 26.

The UI lag on my 16 pro is very very annoying. Makes the whole thing a downgrade overall, but necessary to pair with a S11 watch, unfortunately.
Where are you seeing UI lag? I have a 16 Pro and haven't noticed any lag or any problems. Is it lag when doing specific things? I'd like to reproduce what you're seeing.

Just a reminder... This thread is about 26.0.1, not 26.1. The xx.0.1 updates are usually a couple of quick fixes that address major issues. I don't think that 26.0.1 will include much more than what is listed in the original post.

Folks here seem to be listing out a lot more bugs that they'd like fixed, and we'll be lucky if half of these are even covered in the 26.1 release that will happen almost a month from now. 🤷‍♂️

I hope the ui lag is fixed and maybe the keyboard typing lag that’s been there since iOS 18

I only have 26 on my work phone, but there is a weird bug that every time the keyboard pops up, a 1/4 second later, it fully shifts the keyboard to the left about a mm or two..just enough to throw off my thumb placement when typing.

I don't except much to be fixed, honestly. Waiting on my personal phone until 26.1, at minimum...maybe much later than that, if at all.
