On my spouse's phone, Settings search is the same way. Some things are just missing from a search. Even compared to my phone side-by-side (same model), and there are system level options that only show up in search on my phone.Yeah, I’ve seen others say the same. Seems that post-upgrade indexing isn’t completing for some people. I can’t search my messages from before September on my 15 Pro. I was running the public beta on my M4 iPad Pro and have had no issues on there
I do feel like it’s totally scanning my photos for identifiers or something like that. Like many others under messages threads right after I restored my photos tab disappeared. It’s still gone but the links and documents has now magically appeared and i suspect my photos will eventually return in a day or so. It’s just so weird how they have the phone scheduled to do its indexing of things. Why can’t they just have it run overnight when the phone is plugged in overnight and charging instead of random times throughout the day causing the phone to heat up A LOT and drain my battery when I’m going to actually need it?It's not possible, as one of the many factors is the content of your phone. For example, I recall an occasion where one iOS update trawled through my photo collection and assigned pets' names to pictures where it could. It took a number of days before things settled down.
[Edit]
NB, I agree, it would be useful to have in indication of background processing following an update. There's plenty of spare space on Settings > General > Software Update. It might not align with Apple's design philosophy of keeping things out of the way of the user, but I expect most users would appreciate something like this. For a long time, Apple tried to hide the notion of a filing system from users, but they changed that approach eventually.

I love it, it's the best iOS I ever used. Great UI! My iPhone 16e runs super fast and no glitches or bugs so far.Bearing in mind that Liquid Glass is basically useless, what else is there? Virtually nothing other than bugs. That's Tim Spindler's Apple for ya: zero under-the-hood improvements, terrible UI changes, and a plethora of Apple service-pushing features that can only cater to those paying eternal subscriptions to the company.
Because the children that wrote the code never read anything about usability and think that it is progressive, modern and up to date. The thing that drives me absolutely mad is the animation of the keyboard in Safari, when it switches from light to dark depending on the background. For instance, if I open the keyboard with a dark background, the keyboard starts as bright then immediately does an animation down from the left corner to switch to dark. Having two modes is one thing, but why the animation?
Not true since there are factually known bugs in iOS 26. You have them but just haven't stumbled upon them.I love it, it's the best iOS I ever used. Great UI! My iPhone 16e runs super fast and no glitches or bugs so far.
They used to have a section under battery health that said "finishing software updates in the background" but in ios 26.0 it doesnt have that section anymore. That section was helpful because it would show up for a week then go away and it let me know it was done processing in the backgroundI wish apple would clarify exactly how long this is going to last?
“Immediately after completing an update, particularly a major release, you might notice a temporary impact on battery life and thermal performance. This is normal, as your device needs time to complete the setup process in the background, including indexing data and files for search, downloading new assets, and updating apps.”
How long is a “temporary impact?” Does this mean like a couple hours? Or does it mean random hearing up doing basically nothing for many days after the update which is what has been happening on my 14 pro. I went as far as to wipe my phone and restore from back up from my Mac and the issue remains. I’ve never had this problem this long after any iOS update up until iOS 26. I just wish there was some more transparency with what the heck is actually going on? We are left in the dark.
Could they at least implement a status bar somewhere in the settings app showing the progress of the “indexing” and an estimate of when it will be complete? Would this be hard to do? It’s really annoying having my phone so hot and stressing me out! Some people on here say “give it a week”. Some day “mine is fine”. I’m really hoping there is some notes in the bug fix noting thermal performance because something weird is definitely going on. Really regretting updating so far. Of course my sons 17pro is nice and cool while my 14 pro is cooking all the time.
Yea they should scrap ios 26.0.1 and just have it all be fixed in 26.1 once their betas are done. I think theyre in beta 1 of 26.1 but Im sure there will be more betas for 26.1Agreed. Apple isn't leave us much choice, since they aren't saying anything about the Wifi/Bluetooth/Carplay issues.
I think we have to assume if 26.0.1 isn't released soon and fix the issues, that either it's a hardware problem or Apple may address the issues with 26.1 someday. Either way, we are better off returning the phone while we can, instead of guessing.
Yea they took that option away on ios 26.0 at least on my se 3rd generation. Unless its a bug or glitch in ios. Maybe its back in ios 26.1 beta I dont know. We'll seeThis has been a thing since at least iOS 18.
17 pro here.Where are you seeing UI lag? I have a 16 Pro and haven't noticed any lag or any problems. Is it lag when doing specific things? I'd like to reproduce what you're seeing.
Okay, I'm not missing it then. I don't have any of that lag. Everything's been perfectly fluid for me.17 pro here.
It’s all over. Safari, Reddit, other apps. Scrolling between home screens with a widget AND coming out of an app and directly scrolling the Home Screen
Windows users have been doing this for years. It’s about time Apple customers caught up. /sImagine to pay from 1k up to 2k for a bugs in 2025
Resolved. 26.0.1 seems to be out now for those on 26.0.Maybe this has been answered: can anyone on the 26.1 beta comment in the WiFi bug? Resolved or still there?
Yeap updated my iPad, 17 PM and now Apple Watch Ultra 3 with 26.0.2, as well as there are updates for MacOS and Apple TV devicesDownloading 26.0.1 to iPhone and iPad now..
