They are obviously targeting people that

1) Know nothing at all about music streaming services.
2) Don't really care about music and just want some background noise.

"Like your boyfriend made you a mixtape". Djeezus...

But then again, that might very well be where the available market is right now. Everyone with a slight interest in music have very likely tried other services already, which is why it surprises me quite a bit that they focus on bog standard functionality that other services have.

Love apple music. I have no issues and it's integrated with iOS & OS X. Well worth the 9.99 a month.

Guess, I should watch the Ad, huh. :p

Update: OK, watched the ad and I have no issues with it. Sure, its different and not everyone will like it; however, no ad should please 100% of the viewers.

Yeah, there's only one problem: it just doesn't work. I am an Apple zealot and have been in denial as long as possible. But Apple Music is terrible. This weekend it obliterated all of my playlists, all of my likes and all of My Music... AGAIN. The third time is has done this. Plus, even when it isn't nuking everything, it randomly drops certain songs, greys out others... On all of my macs and iOS devices. Plus the lag is incredible and embarrassing. I am talking minutes. On a 100 Mbps connection.

Spotify just works. Don't love the UI but it's better than that clunky AM effort. And, it streams instantaneously and manages to remember my playlists. Not a big ask!

...and the curated music isn't as good as Apple Music.
Really?

Spotifys Discover Weekly playlist (released in July and updated every Monday with around 30 songs tailor made for each user) blows everything I have ever tried when it comes to curated playlists - both manual and automated - out of the water. It is amazingly good.

I have discovered more new music (not necessarily *new*, but new to me) the last 5-6 weeks from that feature alone than I usually discover in a year. It also somehow manages to pick out some artists that I used to listen to 10+ years ago and really haven't listened to since then.

I would guess that they base the playlist on what you have been listening to the last couple of weeks, but instead of suggesting more from those artists or very obvious similar artists they somehow manage to pick out stuff that fits me very well. One theory (they have not confirmed how it works) is that they look at what YOU listen to, and then look at other people who listens to the same artists/songs and make suggestions based on what those other people play before/after that specific artist/song.

I am sure this functionality would have been called 'magic' if Apple had it - it is that good.

for me apple music is not as polished as rdio, but for a family, the price is right (and a little cheaper than the posted $$ since i always buy iTunes gift cards on sale)

one thing i really miss is the ability to search for playlists from other users.

anyway sorry rdio, but have to cancel now.

It's everyone else experiencing pauses in streaming? I'll be driving, and every other song it will stop in its own for a minute then play again... Then do it again....

Going back to spotify... Shame, because I love apple music, the stream just sucks.

Is Apple Music data mining of personal info different than Spotify and other streaming services? This quote from the CEO of Spotify in last months blowup caused me to leave.

To rub salt in the wound, Ek added this little grenade to the new policy: "If you don't agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, then please don't use the Service."

Does anyone else experience the glitch that when playing a playlist you just get one song on indefinite loop. I look on Up Next and it is just the same song again and again. Happens when choosing a Music playlist or one of my own. Have had no response from Apple so far so am guessing it's not a common problem. Hasn't corrected with software updates.

I know it does that if you have Repeat One song enabled might want to check that

As far as a commercial yeah it was ok, but as far as Apple Standards it felt like a Samsung commercial.

Didn't make me want to spend my money like apple usually does.

That's my opinion of course

The one time ads they show are usually pretty weak. I don't think they're meant to be as good as the regular ads.

One of the better Apple ads I've seen in awhile. Recently most have been pretty forgettable.
