Thank you, brain.

Wow i must of been sheltered my whole time on MacRumors. Had no idea that there were so many Ad execs on here. Wow doesn't that arm chair burn already?
I don't think it's about people acting like they are execs, are people who the ads target not allowed to say the ads suck and they are not doing anything for them? You're acting like only execs can evaluate an ad. Anyone can. For instance, most people love superbowl commercials.
So who is the ad targeting then?
EVERYONE. The idea is to get as many people to sign up for Apple Music as possible. So that includes you, me, and everyone here.. We all kind of fall under the "everyone" category.
In fact it even covers android & windows users too, since Apple music is available on both platforms as well.
That's just it: The ads are NOT targeting you or any of the others complaining here. There's a whole market of people who will never join MacRumors but enjoy these ads. That's the point: Not all ads will resonate with everyone. Different ads for different audiences.I don't think it's about people acting like they are execs, are people who the ads target not allowed to say the ads suck and they are not doing anything for them? It seems on macrumors, majority thinks these ads SUCK.

I just shrug my shoulders and look elsewhere.
Apple is way bigger than they've ever been so obviously they're gonna target more people than they used to; people with whom these ads will resonate.
Do me a favor don't be a voice for everyone because you don't speak for the world. You have not brought the world a coke and tried to teach it so sing. Speak for yourself only and don't ever speak for me.
What part of it's just our opinion are you missing? I don't need to write a letter to Tim asking whether or not the ad was targeted toward me to either like it dislike it. I never liked Snapple, but I loved those ads. Clearly they weren't targeted at me, but I was allowed to have an opinion and say I liked it.
Yet here you are saying we are silenced at MR and not allowed to comment on an ad. Have you been drinking the koolaid for so long that just some people having an opinion about Apple is a major issue with you and that it's everyone's problem that they don't love Apple like you do.
Who gives a damn, I hate the ad. That's my opinion. Other people agree. Some people don't. We are discussing it here. You are trying to silence everyone saying Apple is the best, doesn't make mistakes and if we don't like the ad it's our problem. WTF?
I swear, Apple is a religion for you people. You can keep worshipping Apple, we will state our opinions about everything else EXCEPT Apple lest we be struck down by the all mighty god Tim and his worshipers.
Well you said EVERYONE had an issue with the AD. I don't worship apple but i do like Naomi Campbell and DJ Khaled. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean its a problem if others do like it.
It's not for you.Apple used to connect with its user base.
Now it just alienates people with crass celebrity adverts and poor products.
Change has to come soon.
I'm not trying to silence you or anyone else, if fact I said nothing even remotely close to that or even implied it. I'm just don't think it makes sense to be so upset about the ads.
I guess I shuoldn't have quoted your post, but my point was you can see how many posters are whining about "when Apple was great" and how these ads devalue the brand and all this other nonsense; as if their tastes are an objective measure.
We don't all have to like the same stuff; I thought I made that clear in my post. You're welcome to say whatever you want, I just feel like people are wasting their breath and being unnecessarily stressed by things that are ultimately inconsequential.
On the point about DJ Khaled, it's funny you ask that because he doesn't produce instrumentals or deliver structured vocals (he only talks on tracks). I think he just facilitates the gathering of talented people, who then make the music. Whatever he does, it's certainly worked out well for him haha.
"Marketing is about values" – Steve Jobs
Oddly enough, there is a huge user base they are connecting with now that you are just not a member of.Apple used to connect with its user base.

I knew I hated the Beats acquisition.
The problem with these ads is they have limited appeal outside of iPhone users because Apple Music is unusable on Android devices.
I didn't say it wasn't available for Android. I distinctly said it was unusable on Android. My friend is constantly reminding me about how his beats app always worked and he didn't have to think about the 6 month long betas and what not. it mad no sense to get rid of Beats on Android if Apple wasn't ready to support Apple Music past beta status on Android.Oddly enough, there is a huge user base they are connecting with now that you are just not a member of.

So who is the ad targeting then? The only reason i can think people think the ads suck is because they are stuck in the past. Steve Jobs is dead. Think Different is dead as well. It's 2016 and what has worked before will not. The world is different now and one can choose to live inside a bubble or realize that the times have changed.

Assault cases
Campbell has been convicted of assault on four occasions, after she was accused 11 times of committing acts of violence against employees, associates, and other individuals between 1998 and 2009. During the first such case, heard in February 2000, Campbell pleaded guilty in Toronto to assaulting her personal assistant with a mobile phone in September 1998. Campbell paid her former employee an undisclosed sum and agreed to attend anger management classes; her record was cleared in exchange for her expressing remorse.[49] By 2006, eight other employees and associates had come forward with claims of abuse.[50] During this time, Campbell was photographed wearing a Chip and PepperT-shirt that read "Naomi Hit Me...and I Loved It".[13]
In January 2007, Campbell pleaded guilty in New York to assaulting her former housekeeper, who had accused Campbell of throwing aBlackBerry personal organiser at her in March 2006. Campbell was sentenced to pay her former employee's medical expenses, attend an anger management program, and perform five days of community service with New York's sanitation department.[13][51] She attended her community service wearing designer outfits, including fedoras, furs, and—upon completion of her sentence—a silver sequined Dolce & Gabbana gown.[5][13]Campbell detailed her community service experience in a W feature titled "The Naomi Diaries", and subsequently spoofed herself in a Dunkin' Donuts commercial, directed by Zach Braff, which showed her breaking her heel while gardening and throwing it through a window.[13]
In June 2008, Campbell pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers at London Heathrow Airport two months earlier; she had kicked and spat at the officers following an argument about her lost luggage. She was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and fined £2,300,[52][53] and was banned for life from British Airways.[5] In July 2015, Campbell was sentenced to six months' probation by a Sicilian court for her August 2009 assault on a paparazzo photographer; she had hit him with her handbag for taking pictures of her and her then-partner.[54]
Blood diamond scandal
In August 2010, Campbell made a highly publicised appearance at a war crimes trial against former Liberian president Charles Taylor at the Special Court for Sierra Leone in Leidschendam. She was called to give evidence on a "blood diamond" she allegedly received from Taylor during a Nelson Mandela Children's Fund function in 1997.[55] Campbell initially refused to testify, and—after being subpoenaed—told the court that being there was "a big inconvenience" for her.[56] She testified that she was given "dirty-looking" stones late at night by two unidentified men,[56]and claimed she did not know the diamonds had originated from Taylor until being told so the next morning by a fellow attendee, actress Mia Farrow. However, her account was contradicted by testimonies from Farrow, her former agent Carole White, and former Children's Fund director Jeremy Ratcliffe.[57]
What the hell is apple doing actively having customers associate this awful, toxic, human being with their brand? Surely anyone who followed the "blood-diamonds-for......what exactly?" scandal wouldn't tough her with a bargepole?
Hey call. We all have to literally be ad executives to have opinions on them.Wow i must of been sheltered my whole time on MacRumors. Had no idea that there were so many Ad execs on here. Wow doesn't that arm chair burn already?

Weird choice for an ad campaign. I know this is for the US market and she's nothing more than an animatronic in the ad but.. Really?I don't care if Cambell slaughtered a room full of kittens. She just isn't relevant.
